okay literally forget about me and the help i need to get through, i don’t care about myself rn, because my mom (who is in care of my [black & indigenous] FOUR YR OLD sister!!!) was literally served by a sheriff today with an eviction notice and has 6 days left to come up with $1,073 before being forcibly removed from the home 

she has housing assistance, but it’s in renewal state right now and the leeches landlords, that don’t even live in this state (and also have 24 OTHER PROPERTIES IN THSI STATE ALONE) are “DON’T CARE ABOUT [MY MOM’S] SITUATION BECAUSE [THEY’RE] TIRED OF WAITING, so [they’re] proceeding with eviction” like ??? WHERE IS THE HUMAN DECENCY?! AND RIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS?! this time of year is hard for anyone, and THEY KNOW they’re GUARANTEED to be paid by her housing assistance when it comes thru, but they don’t give a shit because they’re leeches and it’s not immediate like sorry GET A REAL JOB?!?!?!?!? like you could just be patient all things considered, but no!!!

pakistan is amongst the top countries most affected by the climate crisis and this year since mid-june two major provinces balochistan and sindh + now southern punjab and northern areas too have been experiencing massive floods from monsoon rains and they're only going to worsen in the upcoming weeks. the country is not equipped to deal with a calamity this destructive, the last flood which impacted pakistan was in 2010 and over 1700+ people lost their lives, currently 30 million+ people have been affected, 900+ people have already died in this flood and 300,000+ have lost their homes.

Pakistan is drowning, and we need help

Since July of this year, Pakistan has been affected by heavy nonstop monsoons and is yet to stop. It is only getting worse. Rural areas in Balochistan, Sindh, KPK, Punjab and Gilgit Baltistan are the most affected.

As of now, at least 937 people have died and over 500,000 homes have been destroyed along with livestock deaths and ruined infrastructure. The floods have left nearly 30 million people homeless

Most of Balochistan is still submerged. Locals are forced to flee and cannot account for their missing relatives until much later. More than 100 districts all across the provinces have been impacted.

Quetta, a major city of Balochistan, has been cut off from the rest of the country as the roads and highways are destroyed.

We get monsoons every year and we are used to them but this is not normal. We are in our 8th monsoon cycle when we usually get 3-4 cycles.

Two of the worst-hit provinces – Balochistan and Sindh – have received 298mm and 689mm rains respectively this year, which is about 400 percent more than the 30-year average. (c)

Along with the floods, there are also landslides and glacier bursts that have claimed lives and made the situation worse.

People from other cities were unable to get in contact with their affected relatives because they did not have electricity. The cloud cover meant no solar power either.

There are more monsoon predictions till September. I don't know how we're going to come back from this.

This is worse than the 2010 floods and the government doesn't give a shit.

This is going to have disastrous impacts on our economy and society but what does it matter? after all, the people are only there to vote, right? :)

It is the volunteers and NGOs helping, it is the public. There was no help when Karachi flooded and people died and they don't care now either.
