OR a more likely scenario would be the opponent's batter charging the mound and Abe cutting him off before he can reach Mihashi. Then Momokan would have to step in before the teams clear out the benches for a fight (also unlikely, I think they are disciplined enough not to start a brawl, fun to imagine though!).

I'm re-reading the Oofuri manga while watching baseball highlights, and a few things I would love to see happen in Oofuri are:

After a win, Abe running up to the mound and twirling Mihashi around.

The Nishiura team swarming Mihashi on the mound and carrying him up on shoulders.

The umpire making a bad call, and Abe standing up for his teammates and perhaps being thrown out of the game as consequence.

Momokan standing up for the team in the face of umpires.

A look into more catcher techniques, like pitch framing and Abe having to improve his throwing arm for pickoffs.

(Though I would need to research on the culture and work ethics of umpires in Japan, and how they are treated by the public. Based on this outdated article it seems they aren't treated well? They seem to be pretty well respected in Oofuri; an umpire probably wouldn't charge the mound in canon.)
