i think the weirdest marauder head cannons i have is that both sirius and james spend the majority of their youth absolutely tone deaf.

reminder: i am a marauders fan account, i just have an obsession with flawed characters.

PETER: talks over all feminine presenting people. he will talk uninterrupted for 40 minutes about his friends without asking her a single question.

SIRIUS: would do or say something incredibly cringy or toxic but since he has the ultimate pretty privilege you swoon and you’re super flattered. until later that night when you are excitedly recounting the details of your encounter with sirius to a friend but you’re so flustered you fail to replicate the exact same way he said it or how he looked at you. so now your friend is questioning the story so they can understand it better and as you explain you begin to realize how much of a red flag it really was.

REMUS: is nearly 40 but has his tinder age preference set to 20 - 32 year olds.

JAMES: has single child syndrome. james has absolutely no clue how to share personal space without somehow cluttering up the entire dorm. he’s extremely bossy (but since he’s a man it’s seen as being a leader) and slightly spoiled.

yes!! i’m also uncomfortable with hcing the black family as asian due to the weird positioning of asian people and privilege??

i’m american and fully black so i’m not educated on this topic the same way an asian person would be but in america asian americans have held a weird and revokable status of privilege - obviously not equal to white privilege but this is largely attributed to the model minority myth that implies asian americans are a good/safe group of poc (which i recognize has its own faults like micro aggressions, unfair academic pressure, and a lack of resources for incarceration, etc).

so making the canonically black magic, blood supremacist family that is based off of real life white supremacy and fascism asian feels like it’s continuing the narrative of asian people being viewed as white adjacent or diet poc??

obviously, i’m not the best person to talk about this or to elaborate on this with so if an actual asian person wants to take the mic or tell i’m out of my lane please do so!

hcing sirius as a poc including hcing him as east asian is cool and all but sometimes i read fics where sirius is east asian and you've also written him as some tiny submissive uwu softboi with super strict/abusive parents and it's a bit... 🤨🤨 especially if it's a fic where remus is white with nice parents and then it just comes across as some racist paternalistic "queer poc need to be rescued from their homophobic/abusive families by a white knight"

and before some white person reads this the wrong way, no i am not saying that east asian sirius/short sirius/sub sirius/abused sirius are bad things. i myself write some of those tropes. i hope that you people have enough critical thinking skills to be able to tell when it is or isn't racist.

like i’m sure molly and arthur didn’t have her wear all of her older brothers’ clothing because the excitement of having a baby girl and putting her in stereotypical cute girly clothes whenever they have the extra money (which i recognize is inherently problematic but molly screams traditionalist).

but like teenage ginny wearing worn in oversized sweaters and cardigans, beat up sneakers and she goes into muggle london not nervous but mindful that her clothes may not look like the other muggle girl’s her age. but then everyone is in distressed, grungy clothing ~purposefully~ and it’s a pleasant surprise.
