🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀
Long ago beside the sea there lived a man named Jairus, and the world was dark in his eyes, for he had no children. He was one of the chief men of his city, a ruler of the synagogue, and every year he went up to the Great City to the Seat of His God to beg of Him a child; and each year he went away again with steps that grew more and more weary, for His God was silent and he had no answer. Then, in the twelfth year of his asking, as he turned from his prayer to travel again to his home, he was met by an old woman in widow’s garb. She was a prophetess who had lived in the temple at the Feet of Her God since sorrow had come upon her, and she spoke to Jairus, saying,
“Fear not! The Lord Your God will hear your cries and will lift up his hand, and you will yet see the light, for he himself will give a child to you. Return now, and come again next year, bearing your sheaves with you.”
At these words the heart of Jairus rejoiced, and he returned home with joy. So it was, when the fullness of time was come, a child was born to Jairus, and lo, it was a daughter. And Jairus named her Liora, for he said “My God has granted me light for my eyes.”

my wonderful friend meg (https://archiveofourown.org/users/megSUPERFAN) made this lovely poem at my request, inspired by another friend, jenna.
ki wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee - by megSUPERFAN
I hold the kiwi dear to me, its mysteries profound,
I stare into its green and starry rays,
I like the way it rubs my hand, I zoom its weight around,
I wonder if it will return my gaze.
I tell the kiwi everything, for wisdom in return
I hope one day it shall reveal to me,
The kiwi knows the truths that no one else will ever learn,
It masters all the art of secrecy.
I want to eat the kiwi soon- it’s such delicious green,
But I’ll be patient with it as I play,
For this is quite the greatest fruit that I have ever seen,
I know that I will learn its ways someday.

gregor the overlander be like:
I killed the rat king of New York and inherited his throne by right of conquest or whatever, but I never took the rat oaths so I can speak to and command rats and they are compelled to obey, but they formally elected a rat president last year. I don't have any formal power in their social hierarchy but I have very real concrete magical power over them. I guess the title gets passed to my eldest son unless a rat kills me at some point.
