It used to be that when a store ran out of a sale item, they’d offer a rain check. Now it’s more normal for big chain stores to conveniently “run out” of a sale item in the first day or two and then for some totally unknown reason, supply chain issues probably, somehow not be able to get any more in stock until the sale is over.

Somehow, this incredible bad luck with their supply chains seems to hit those big vertically-integrated chain stores the hardest — you know, the ones that that famously own a huge amount of their own supply chains.

Really the entire Waterlogged quest is fantastic. The Last Girls on Earth makes me cry every time, and then Laulai thanking you on behalf of her ancestors and only Aloy knowing just how true that part is… good stuff.

#i think that if everyone had this limitation then soon there would be good music everywhere #because there would be local demand and a local audience for a wide variety of styles #making it worthwhile to cultivate a broad local talent pool #you wouldn't have all styles everywhere of course but you *would* have a bunch of good stuff being made locally #and you wouldn't know what you were missing so you'd be fine without it #but also: i actually think that most music that's regularly played by live bands in front of live audiences is pretty good #boring songs get drowned out by audience conversation; unlistenable dreck gets you booed off the stage or chases the audience away #none of those experiences are fun for the musicians so it forces them to up their game #plus the shared participation in the musical experience at a live show elevates the music for everyone involved

So I just saw a post by a random personal blog that said “don’t follow me if we never even had a conversation before” and?????? Not to be rude but literally what the fuck??????????

I’ve had people (non-pornbots) try to strike conversation out of nowhere in my DMs recently, and now I’m wondering if they were doing that because they wanted to follow me and thought they needed to interact first. I feel compelled to say, just in case, that it’s totally okay to follow this blog (or my side blog, for that matter) even if we’ve never talked before.

Also, I’m legit confused. Is this how follow culture works right now? It was worded like it’s common sense but is that really a thing?

#this is the 'oops i followed that person by accident because i was scrolling on mobile and tapped the wrong spot' website #'good luck only following people you know' said the developers #as they littered the dash with 'follow' buttons smack in the middle of prime scrolling real estate #like. state that boundary by all means and then hope people respect it #but if that's your boundary then this is maybe not the site for you on account of it's not built to work that way #you literally don't even have to visit someone's blog to follow them #they don't even have to be op of the post #so the only way to be sure everyone knows about that boundary before following you is to mention it in every. single. post. #AND add it to everything you reblog #which is why - again - demanding that is VERY MUCH not the norm here
