First of all, seeing that:

I guess THIS is where these despicable people have been hiding instead of showing their Tumblr followers their true feelings like adults.

I also guess that I must be behind on current slang, because maybe "political opinions I'm not copacetic with" is code for "denying the existence of genocides because they don't gel with someone's virtual boner for dictators, harassing people over these opinions, and generally acting like a terrible human being." Maybe there's a chance it is not, in fact, weasel language for "I'm sweeping the terrible reality of my friend's political views under the rug so I can pretend she's the wronged party here like the fucking narcissist's prayer."

For the thousandth time since I learned what the fuck was going on behind the scenes of this fandom: ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS???????

Do you have any recommendations for good reads on Archive when it comes to Joe and Nicky? I'm looking for something that doesn't make me cry

Hi Anon, it's taken me a few days to answer you, partly because of real life and partly because I was wracking my brains trying to think of what to rec. Almost all of my favourite stories have lots of angst in them, so I was thinking what would be suitably fluffy or funny, and tear-free.

In the end, I asked around for suggestions, so a very big thank you to @negotiumcrucis and @queen-of-badomens for helping me out. Also, full disclosure, some of these fics are written by my friends, and a few are quite NSFW 🙈.

1. There's a TV, Joe! by Ignisentis. This one is a short scene set during their plane ride in the movie, where Joe and Nicky do their best to annoy Keane. It has some real funny lines!

2. Another Chime by therowdybee. This one is a team fic, and has a discussion about all the times that Joe and Nicky got married in the past. I like it because it has interactions between the entire Guard, even Quynh!

3. The Moments in Between by LaReineDuLune. Now, this one is a bit tricky, the author hasn't updated since Nov 2020, but there are 21 chapters with varying degrees of fluff and adventure, and so I think it's still worth reccing.

4. The Golden Horn by goldsaffron. This one is pretty long (10k words!) but it is well-written, has some really beautiful imagery and an interesting story, and is a bit NSFW at the end.

5. Oldest Men on Earth by quincette. Oh, I love this one! It's romantic and fluffy and historical and there's a marriage proposal at the end! If it does make you cry, it'll be happy tears.

6. 'A Different Point of View', a chapter of the You had me at "Hello" series by TheLoveliestCrime. I love this entire series! Some of the other chapters are angsty, but this one is pretty fluffy. It's told from the POV of a dog that Joe adopts, and how it conspires to hook him up with Nicky. There's a tiny bit of angst in there, but the ending is so sweet, you just have to read it.

7. into the future (to which his back is turned) by nerdsandthelike. This is a Good Omens crossover, and basically Joe and Nicky run into Crowley and Aziraphale in a bookstore. And it turns out they've all met each other years ago. Really well-written, some super funny lines here!

8. Love Among the Stars by AraSigryn. This one's a Star Wars AU, featuring Jedi!Nicky and Mando!Joe. I just love the imagery and adventure here. Also the idea of a Mandalorian and a Jedi meeting and falling in love is cute!

9. Are you Trump or Biden in this scenario? and Are you Trump or Biden in this scenario? Part Dos: The Biddening by ejdominus. This one is a biased rec, because I was there when it started out as joke in the server and ejdominus managed to wring out two 2020 US election-inspired fics out of it. Needless to say, these are very NSFW.

10. Dildo of Destiny by ejdominus (again). Probably the most NSFW of the recs. LOL! Um, how do I explain this? It's a pornstar AU, and Joe has an out-of-body experience and possesses Nicky's dildo. 🙈 It's super funny. And sexy! And hot!

11. The Adventures of StickFigure!Joe and StickFigure!Nicky by Claire. I will never not rec these. They're short, sweet GIFs featuring our boys in different sexy scenarios and adventures. Mostly NSFW!

Makes me think it’s not really racism they care about, especially not when they harass actual queer and POC people because of a personal preference. Race as Social Capital: LGBTmazight’s Blatant Racefaking for Fandom Points

The Old Guard fandom has its own HIVliving, MedievalPOC, Rose Christo, white girl who is totally a Cherokee Princess because she did a test and found that she’s 1% Native American, and the charade has been going on for too long.

This post is about Len (better known as LGBTmazight, romiosini, figure8, junmotions). The information compiled here has been found and organized by people of many ethnicities, including those she pretends to be (namely two Moroccans, one of whom is Amazigh, who were raised in Morocco and speak the language), who are now exhausted by her uncontrolled racism. This post is not an invitation to send her hate: it’s a compilation of her unbridled racefaking for internet points, and comes with the invite of blocking her and not using her as a reference when it comes to information regarding MENA countries. 99% of what she says, she copies from Google and often attributes to the wrong country.

As of summer 2021, Len is claiming to be a brown Maghrebi-Greek woman who comes from poverty and whose parents weren’t able to afford to give her an adequate education, works in manual labor, was raised between Greece and Morocco for the first seven years of her life, is dark-skinned enough to get harassed by the police everywhere she goes, and has learned pride in her heritage from her Muslim Moroccan father. She claims to be able to speak, among other languages, Darija, Arabic, and Tmazight.

However, in her internet career Len has also identified as being: white, white-passing, brown, Muslim, Orthodox Christian, animist from a family of shamans and in line to become the next “Darwisa”, French, Spanish, Peloponnesian/Pontic/Anatolian Greek, Sephardic Jewish, Jewish with family “in Europe during WW2", partly Romani, Moroccan, specifically Riffian Moroccan with solely Amazigh descent, and with “close ties to Asia Minor”. Her economic status has shifted from being able to live in the world’s most expensive neighborhoods and attending fancy private schools during the Global Recession to having to ask her followers for change. According to her stories, her family has been at the center of every tragedy that happened in North Africa and Europe since the beginning of the 1900s.

This to say: Len, LGBTmazight, is a racefaker on the same level as HIVliving, a parasite who latches onto racial stereotypes and applies them to her person to give herself, as well as her followers, the right to harass, abuse, and send death threats to people who do not follow or support her narrative. It will be brought up later, but the Moroccan Amazigh person who participated in writing the post, as well as other MENA individuals, were appalled by the blatant racism, Orientalism, antiblackness, fetishization, and White Savior Syndrome displayed by Len, as well as her open disrespect for actual Moroccan traditions, people, and culture. Although this began as a light-hearted research, it soon became clear that Len’s racism, xenophobia especially against Italians and Ukrainians, antisemitism, and downright disgusting behavior are incredibly serious issues, to the point that one of the MENA individuals behind this post became physically ill from seeing what she puts online.

None of the information compiled here is a product of doxxing: it is a collection of what Len herself has put online over the years, and let it be known that we were gracious enough to not post her, her parents’, and her sister’s full and legal names and faces despite the fact that Len has shared them multiple times.

As an appetizer, here’s the face of the “racialized” brown woman who claims to be constantly abused and racially profiled because of her dark skin and North African features:

Although in the past she identified as they/them or he/him, on her current Twitter her pronouns are she/her. This account will do the same.

And here is what she thinks of Black and Jewish people: they are obstacles to the attentions she should, in her opinion, receive for the made-up abuse she rants about online. Her platforms were never about defending, representing, and protecting minorities; it was always a stage for her to grab the attention of well-meaning people. About actual minorities, she couldn’t care less and considers them a nuisance:

(In these tweets she is talking about xenophobia, something she has said is only ever brought up as a way to shift the conversation away from racism. How the tables have turned, Len.)

A summary of the contents of the post: Len is 25% Moroccan at most, was born and raised in Europe, never lived in the Maghreb, doesn’t speak the language, didn’t learn about Islam from her father, never suffered any racially-charged abuse, and never lived in poverty. Her father is a tenured professor and has been one since the 1990s, and her mother is also an extremely well-respected professor; they have dozens of publications between them, and her mother seems to have written the text for her field. Although we have no certainties regarding their monthly income, it is easy to say they are wealthy: both Len and her sister were sent to private schools all their lives, her family could afford to own/rent multiple residencies at the same time, drive around in expensive cars, go on vacation often, and buy Apple products immediately after release. Everything she has said since she started looking for fandom clout is a lie and she has used your desire to be good people to her advantage. Extensive proof is below the cut, and mind that this is only the tip of the iceberg: we have more and it only gets worse.

Hélène, we were initially open to dialogue, but after seeing that you’re a genocide denier who keeps inventing stories of abuse to get pity from people while you spend your time harassing actual PoC and other minorities, as well as being someone who has no problems calling Marwan Kenzari a “sand-ni**er”, we realized you are not redeemable in any way.

We already know she’s going to screenshot this and whine about it on Twitter, because even if she likes to portray herself as a great debater, she has never been able to hold a single online conversation without first victimizing herself and crying about being abused, then screenshotting and asking her followers to harass the people who disagreed with her. We are not doing this for her; she’s neither important nor special enough for that. We are doing this to get rid of the racism, xenophobia, antisemitism, and fetishization of MENA people that she has spent a year aiding.

As we approach the one-year anniversary of The Old Guard movie release, the members of the Top!Joe Discord server would like to invite everyone interested to take part in our Pornathon - Quarantine edition (40 Days of Filth).

We believe in the freedom of creativity and of kink as a healthy expression of sexuality, and for that we have been running events in our own server since last December (you can check out our collections here, here, here, here, here and here). In order to celebrate the one year anniversary of the movie that brought us all together, we will be opening one of our events for fans outside of the server for the first time.

One of the main themes of The Old Guard is “we're not meant to be alone” and, for a lot of people, this fandom has been a safe haven during a year of pandemic, lockdown, and quarantine. Some of us wrote fics for the very first time, or went back to writing after years of creative hiatus. Some artists stepped out of their comfort zone and tried their hands at new themes. And let’s not be shy about it: a lot of us bonded through porn, and that’s why we will be celebrating through porn as well.

So, in case you have no interest in Discord, or for any other reason aren’t a member of the top!Joe server, but still want to make some quality Top!Joe/Bottom!Nicky smut, this event is for you too.

Here are The Rules™ (don’t worry, there aren’t that many):

Pornathon - Quarantine edition will run from June 1st until July 10th (40 days).

You can post any time, any day, and however many fics/arts you want (see below for where/how to post).

There are no min/max words for fic, but it must be rated M or E (and, of course, in case there’s penetrative sex of any kind, the dynamic must be Top!Joe/Bottom!Nicky).

Art can be original (traditional/digital) or creative (manip, moodboards) - anything goes. NSFW is preferred, but depending on the prompt (example: lingerie, corsets etc.), depicting a sex act/genitals is not mandatory.

Fics and arts shall be shared on AO3 (and added to the collection) and/or on the top!Joe Discord Server (if you’re a member). You can also post it on your Tumblr, but it must be also available on AO3 or on the server.

Check out our chart and choose a prompt to write or to make art. They’ve been sorted into different categories and each category will have a badge. You can fill all the prompts in a specific category or just pick one (you will still get your badge).

Multiple fills of the same theme/kink are encouraged, and you can also combine more than one prompt in the same fic/art.

Though it’s an event to celebrate the one-year anniversary of The Old Guard movie release, fics and arts set in the comicsverse are welcome as well. If you make some comicsverse content, there’s a special badge for you.

And if you have been watching Marwan Kenzari and Luca Marinelli’s prolific filmography and have been shipping any of their other characters together, there will also be a shiny crossover badge for you.

There are also badges for word count and number of works completed and if you manage to collect at least one badge for each category, you will unlock the Malta Badge, in honor of our ultimate sexvacation needs. Take note that the comicsverse and crossover fics are excluded from this requirement.

Due to the subjective nature of kink (how vanilla or extreme it is) we reserve the right to change the level of badge category based on how it's portrayed in each work.

Purples and blues for sure! Whenever I shade, I just like gravitate to them? I prefer cooler colors than I do warm...which makes sense.

Hmmm this is a great question, I think I get inspired a lot by reading fics? Other than that, it’s usually random scenarios I have in my head that I want to self-manifest? For art style itself, I’m very inspired by anime/manga I used to consume voraciously as a child? Nowadays my coloring is more so influenced by webtoons? Since that’s what I read more of recently.

🎧What do you listen to when you create, if anything?

Documentaries! It’s where I get a lot of my completely useless information on random things? Tends to be history-related or current affairs? Ohhh sometimes I like listening to true crime or supernatural related podcasts? 

🍋Why did you start creating art?

I always liked drawing??? And creating in general since I was very little, and I just never stopped? As for digital art, I saw fanart of FFVII art on deviantart in like 6th grade and I’m like... I HAVE A NEED TO DO THE SAME....

I’m a little preoccupied with TOG drawing list so not at the moment.... But I do consume other media though? So right now I recently watched Mob Psycho... and want to draw Mob and Reigen at some point....other than that, I usually draw OCs as well? Ex. friend’s OC for them!
