People, Spider-Man Homecoming isn't White Miles
I have read many, many cases of people claiming that the MCU version of Peter Parker is just Miles Morales but white. Thatâs nuts.
Iâm assuming that a lot of these posts and accusations are just people piggybacking on some posts theyâve seen and hopping aboard the bandwagon for whatever reason. Itâs all just, âItâs all Milesâ origin! Itâs all Milesâ story!â without any actual evidence beyond the glaringly obvious Ned-Ganke parallels.
In what way is this Milesâ story? Uncle Ben is still dead, as far as we know, Peterâs powers arenât the result of a family member stealing a genetically enhanced spider, and it doesnât look likes Peter is living in a place of financial instability. He isnât going to a charter school where he stays away from home (again, as far as we know), heâs still in Queens, not Brooklyn, heâs still Peter Parker for Christâs sake.
Iâm not gonna go into nitpicking territory with this, like bringing up different characters that Miles never interacts with, because then Iâm just more of an asshole. The reason they arenât using MJ or Gwen again is because weâve seen it (sort of, the Sam Reime movies didnât at all represent MJ), theyâre going with the high school dynamic because weâve seen an older, angsty Peter, and because all of the cartoons have him living through high school, which is where a lot of the younger film audience will be getting their interest in Spidey.
People shout out all these claims without making any kind of argument beyond Ned, which I admit, was an obvious and pretty stupid move on Marvelâs part. I personally have no issue with the dynamic, because I donât get attached to characters like that, and I get why they chose Peter. Heâs a more recognizable character, hell, he is and always will be /the/ Spider-Man. Can you blame them for making a marketing decision like that? Sure, Miles is in the cartoon, but thatâs been cancelled, so from the end point of that show on, unless kids read the comics, no one elseâll be learning about him.
I love Miles as a character, Iâd personally choose him over comic Peter any day, but I greatly prefer Hollandâs portrayal of Peter over Milesâ character, so his casting is more of a personal preference. But I donât like seeing people spew this bullshit because they had to get on the band wagon. Sue me.
So I thought Iâd educate you, I did my job, and now Iâm out, peace.
(P.S. This isnât a white boy defending his race, Iâm a full-blood Korean son just stating the facts.)

Young Justice Returning for Season 3
Young Justice fans, itâs time to celebrate, as Warner Bros. Animation has announced the series is returning for a long hoped-for Season 3.
WB Animation notes that more details, including where the new episodes will air and a premiere date, will be revealed later, but production is now beginning on the third season, which promises ânew twists, turns and dangerous new threats for the team, but most importantly, the opportunity for fans to finally continue the adventures of some of their favorite Super Heroes.â
âThe affection that fans have had for Young Justice, and their rallying cry for more episodes, has always resonated with us,â said Sam Register, President, Warner Bros. Animation and Warner Digital Series, in a statement. âWe are excited to bring the show back for this loyal fanbase and to provide an opportunity for new viewers to discover this excellent series.â
Original Young Justice producers Brandon Vietti (Batman: Under the Red Hood, Superman: Doomsday) and Greg Weisman (Star Wars Rebels, Gargoyles, The Spectacular Spider-Man) have both returned to the series for the new episodes.
Centered on young DC Comics heroes like Robin, Superboy, Aqualad, Artemis, Kid Flash and Miss Martian, Young Justiceâs first two seasons aired from 2011 until 2013 on Cartoon Network. Despite critical acclaim and a passionate core fanbase, the series was cancelled â with Weisman eventually confirming reports that disappointing sales for tie-in Young Justice toys (expected to be a major part of probability for the series) were a major factor in the decision. In the years since Young Justice ended â and with its availability on Netflix still gaining it new viewers - many fans have noted how much theyâd like to see it return, with Weisman often echoing their sentiments on Twitter.
