Language Barrier
You tell me ‘I love you’,
I bring you a different berry,
For every letter,
You know some are poisonous,
Yet you swallow them all,
You say you love me,
I hold a knife to your teeth,
You wrap your arms around me,
Ask me if I’m cold,
Whisper in my ear you love me,
I shake,
You hand me your coat,
You don’t let go,
Somewhere you’re always holding me,
Speaking words I don’t understand,
A native tongue of silence,
Does not touch yours of birdsongs

Angelic Aura
So bright,
Blinding,
My eyes squeezed shut,
But I still see you,
Burned into my mind like a heated brand,
My skin warming in your glow,
Like standing too close in front of a hearth,
You boil my insides like molten metal,
Cast me into a new shape,
Make me in your holy image,
Baptize me in your light,
Let it wash over me,
I’d smile as I burn

Rat
You are ethereal,
Beyond my comprehension,
Eldritch and angelic,
You cleanse the filth,
Like the flood,
You claw out the sickness,
You devour the disease,
You swallow,
But I have the illness,
With every breath,
I cause it to spread,
I fear you will spare me,
That our bond,
Will chain you from your duty,
You forever doomed,
To be bound by purpose,
To always be merciful,
To the pest,
Spreading the disease

Un-urban Wildlife
Mistaking car alarms,
For bird songs,
Out of the woods,
Lost in a forest of concrete,
Misplaced,
Yearning to be returned,
Home in their evergreen arms,
Where morning smells like dew,
Not this smog

To Feel Loved
Cutting my sandwich in half,
To prove I’m deserving,
Two diagonal triangles,
Six odd points,
I deserve these pleasures,
So I create them,
I picked up the blade,
Applied the pressure,
I created this pleasure,
Because I deserve it

Gardens Over Graveyards
You long to be held,
By hands that aren’t mine,
And I don’t fault you for that,
I am a graveyard,
Only good for resting,
A breather before you move on,
To prettier better things,
Living things,
Things that can still grow,
Bloom into something,
Entirely consuming and ethereal,
A garden,
A place to call yours,
To call home,
To find arms like a garden,
And lose yourself inside,
That’s what you deserve,
Something lively,
Enchanting,
Not a place of mourning,
Of ending,
But I’ll wait for you,
In the graveyard

Coward Wishing For Courage
I wish to write you love letters, poems,
Paint you the most enchanting portraits,
Be courageous enough,
To address them all to you,
To look into your face,
And know you see through me,
Allow me to see through you,
Greet you with a bouquet, baked goods,
Words could never express the way,
You make me warm,
Butterflies on my skin,
Smiling like a fool, when I hear from you,
Like I’m a star collapsing in on itself,
Like a supernova,
But I am a coward

Love Poems
A love poem,
I’m writing one,
Everyday,
When I put pen to paper,
It’s only your name,
My hand wishes to conjure,
But your hands are,
Reaching for somebody better,
Maybe somebody at least willing,
To fill your hand,
Instead of hiding behind a bunch of,
Love poems

Moonbathing
The Moon is so big tonight,
She’s center stage,
Maybe not a star,
She’s still dazzling,
Ethereally lunar,
Did you know,
People used to say,
Staring at The Moon,
Could drive man mad,
A true muse,
Too powerful to contain,
Her influence,
And who is She,
To hide such beauty,
Bath in her holy glow,
Be cleansed by Her gaze,
Be reminded that Her,
Beauty and grace,
Is the same stardust in our bones

Moth Kisses
It was silly to think,
For even a second,
I could have you,
Much too slow and cautious,
By the time I make a move,
You’ve already fluttered off,
So frightened by the thought,
Of destroying this,
Delicate beautiful thing,
And maybe I would only,
Rub the dust from your wings,
So maybe it’s good,
The balanced way,
To let you be

What Do You Forage For?
Oh, dear,
I fear you may have,
Accidentally swallowed my heart,
Mistaken it,
For a wild strawberry,
Would you return it to me?
Or my dear,
Would you keep it,
Locked behind your smile,
Keep me wrapped around,
Your finger,
Entangle yourself in my arms,
Til we and the moons gaze,
Are all that remains

Citrus Admirer
I’m slipping love notes,
Under your door,
Bumping our hands,
When we walk together,
Baking you tangerine frosted cakes,
Picking the prettiest orange blossoms,
Writing this poem,
A million garden and library plans,
Imagined where you notice me,
My affectionate admiration,
And feel akin,
For me,
We’d share slices of citrus,
In our beautiful garden,
Reading quietly to one another,
A dream,
Yours dearly,
Your Citrus Admirer

Sinking or Falling
(doesn’t matter either way because I’m sunk)
There is no map,
No manual or guide,
That exists,
To explain,
How to do this safely,
Some people,
Free fall with grace,
Gifted with ease,
Like angels granted wings,
Swirling frills of colors,
Feathers softly sway,
These bones aren’t hollow,
Weighted with ‘what if’s,
Sinking like a stone,
Sinking not falling,
Like being thrown off the boat,
To learn to swim,
Or drown,
Filling my lungs,
Each cough is,
A sweet little exhale,
Of you

Rigged Game
Tossing and turning,
Tangled up in sheets,
Longing to be held,
In arms of safety and warmth,
Keep eyes closed,
A little while longer,
For a chance,
To catch a glimpse,
At you,
The risk of terror,
Of pain and rejection,
Is worth the gamble,
Never favored,
By her, Lady of Luck,
Never finding,
Four leaf clovers,
Yet I play this,
Betting game with you,
Even though,
I know I’m destined to lose

Dive at the Bay of Bengal
Darkest eyes,
Lay themselves upon me,
Dread whose name,
My ancestors’ tongues knew,
Every cell screams it’s name,
But I can’t,
Open my mouth,
Petrified,
I am a statue,
A silhouette,
Soon to be lost,
To a shifting sun

Wrapped Around My Fingers
Fingers through hair,
Soft strands parting,
At the will of my hands,
Melting warm,
Into a sweet puddle,
Guide it away,
From your delicate skin,
For a gentle kiss,
A chaste taste of flesh,
A promise,
A temptation
