Video

Today I progressed the electronics box for the axe. It will have an LED going across the axehead and if all goes well, it will also have another cool thing, but we'll see if I can make it happen :D Still need to paint this properly, of course, but should be a quick thing. Handles are now wrapped with leather! I wanted to do a stitch styled leather wrap, but the leather was too thin, couldn't handle the force of the line for the stitching. So, instead I did a leather strip styled wrap. Ended up pretty nice and feels great to hold. Waiting on some materials to continue work on the Warhammer poweraxe so I gave the new cloth brush on Blender a try. It's easy to use, a little bit buggy at times, but it also might be me being a rookie. I did a test print of this already, not too great on the top skull detail with FDM, so I'm making adjustments. Ohhh yeah. The blade is almost done. I'll have to reprint the center part, it snapped while I was trying to fit the handle shaft. Reprinting it with a higher tolerance for the fitting should fix the issue. I expected more issues, but so far, nothing too complicated. The blade parts were bonded with some 2 part filler and are very strong right now.
