veronica mars rewatch 2x10: one angry veronica

• ugh my illness seems to have gotten worse. my throat is killing me and I still have body aches. I was supposed to visit my friend in another state in a few days but it doesn’t look like that’s gonna happen :/

• I look forward to this rewatch every night, and not just when I’m sick. it’s been a lot of fun revisiting it and falling in love with veronica all over again. I was obsessed with her (and this show) when I first watched it in high school and before I started this rewatch, I read some critical comments towards Veronica and I was worried that I wouldn’t like her or the show as much this time around, not only because of those comments but because I’m older and would have more life experience/perspectives and see her in a different light. While I’m older now and can point out her flaws or disagree with her, it’s very obvious to me why Veronica acts the way she does. Even if it’s not obvious, her flaws make her more realistic. I’m really glad I still love her and the show pretty much the same as when I first watched it.

• anyway onto the episode!

• damn Duncan knew Meg was pregnant and didn’t tell Veronica. I mean I know that’s a hard thing to tell your girlfriend, but uh yeah he should’ve told her

• I understood that Truman Capote reference, thanks to that feud miniseries I watched that was

• completely forgot meg woke up at the end of the last episode

• funny how Veronica got chosen to be a juror and she’s only 18. How many 18 year olds are actually chosen for jury duty?

• one of these jurors is Angela Blake from the west wing

• but wait I thought jurors weren’t allowed to talk about the trial or look up anything about it?? so if Veronica brings this news Keith put on her laptop to the attention of the other jurors is it allowed?

• wait I’m confused. Did Logan steal the tapes or did he buy them from the person who stole them?

• also fuck you logan for destroying those tapes. I don’t care if you’re trying to protect your dad or your family name or whatever. Aaron deserved to rot in jail forever

• oh Leo stole the tapes???

• ok but there’s a difference between a jury seeing the tapes of Aaron and Lily and people testifying about what they saw on the tapes that no longer exist. Having the tape would make it so much easier to convict him.

• why did the hospital call Keith to tell him Meg died?

• it’s also eerie that Meg told Veronica if anything happened to her to protect the baby and then she dies. Presumably on the same day I think?

• at least Veronica and Meg made up before she died

watched Erin Brockovich cause it’s been on my list for a while (and what else am I gonna do while sick?) and overall I liked it.

random thoughts:

• Bill Scully jump scare at the beginning. Why does that guy always play assholes?

• I don’t know if the real Erin is like this, but the Erin Julia Roberts played has a mouth on her. She just said whatever came to mind and called people out on their bullshit, and I loved it. I personally could never do that because I hate confrontation, but I admire people who do.

• my favorite scene was when she was ripping the pg&e lawyers a new one and when the lady was gonna take a sip of the water she was like ��we had the water brought in just for you” and it was from the town where it was contaminated

• also when she said she gave all the residents in the town blow jobs so they’d sign the forms for the arbitration

• I teared up at the end when she was telling the one lady how much money she was gonna get

• remember that companies will screw you over every chance they get. that what pisses me off about this climate change talk. likes yes we as citizens can do our part and take small steps sure, but really it’s the big corporations that are ultimately screwing us and the planet over.

• I am back! (After 6 hours 😂) I am lowkey addicted to this season more than the first one for some reason

• anyway can we just… discuss what this episode’s about?

Veronica uncovers her mother’s permanent record and Trina directs a Neptune High play and immediately dislikes Logan’s girlfriend. Plus Weevil confronts Logan.

so we’re bringing Veronica’s mom back (maybe not her mom per se, but information about her mom) bringing Trina back, and Logan has a new girlfriend??? I feel like this is such a 180° from the last episode I watched lol

• why is Duncan in this health class now and Gia’s not lol

• ah the classic “you have to take care of a fake baby for a week” health assignment. I never did that

• woah we’re going back to the fake drug test results from the 2nd episode? Why is Clemmons now concerned with how Veronica got those files? That was like weeks ago dude lol

• I guess maybe he didn’t have proof but now that there’s “a new security system” he does?

• Clemmons was so concerned about Veronica taking the drug testing files so he punishes her by making her work with…student files? Yeah that makes sense.

• serious question tho why would they keep files on students who graduated 20+ years ago???

• oh Veronica’s mom knew Mrs Hauser (the health teacher) ??

• no sympathy for Weevil from Veronica I see. Can’t say that I blame her, or Logan. I get that Weevil is trying to figure out who killed Felix and why he would think it was Logan, but he did hire his PCH cronies to kidnap him and try to shoot him. So…

• also how many people have been taped to that pole now? 3??

• “So how have you been? I mean aside from that whole mess with dad and all.”

Trina is annoying but lowkey hilarious

• god it’s so wild to have that scene end with Alyson Hannigan and the next one begin with Charisma Carpenter. My Buffy signals are going off.

• no now they’re having a scene together this is so funny! last time I watched this show was before I ever watched buffy so i didn’t know who they were or why it’d be funny to see them in a scene together

• “I’ve worked very hard over the years to avoid working.” Lol

• oh no Celeste is back

• it’s funny cause I thought Duncan was gonna be doing something with Kendall but nope, this is worse

• god Celeste is such a bitch. I completely understand her hatred for Lianne, and by all accounts she should also be mad at Jake for cheating on her, but what gets me is she takes it out on Veronica when it’s not her fault at all! She had nothing to do with the affair or any of it!

Like “when I look at you I see your drunken slut of a mother” ?? That would get a bitch a punch in the face from me.

• Veronica thinks this random girl is Celeste’s prom baby??

• so…did Duncan and Celeste ever go to dinner?

• why does Weevil now think Logan didn’t kill Felix? I guess it’s because the one PCHer said he saw Logan stab Felix when he really wasn’t there so now Weevil’s questioning it.

• oh Trina’s the abandoned baby???

• oh I thought Trina didn’t know she was adopted

• omg the lunch lady is Trina’s mom

• so if Lianne was nice than I’m guessing that Mrs. Hauser actually started the rumor and got Lianne suspended

• oh yep I’m right about that

• what the hell. Ok so Trina’s real dad is the principal of the school, who was having an affair with the now lunch lady Mary, and he abandoned her in the bathroom.

• lmao I love how after Trina embarrassed the principal in his meeting, the principal looks at Mrs Hauser like “did you tell her?” and she’s like “I swear I didn’t” lol get fucked lady

• Clemmons you sly dog. You wanted Veronica to find those files and do her PI thing so Trina would find out her dad is the principal and get him fired

• but wait, that means Clemmons would’ve had to have known that Trina was Principal Moorehead’s daughter…how would he have known that?

• also it’s very cliche to end the episode with Meg waking up from her coma. Not a fan personally.

• although apparently there’s an alternate ending which is beyond messed up and I’m so glad they didn’t go with it for multiple reasons
