*Bridal Catria, Mila, Legendary Celica were not in a dedicated Valentia banner and, as such, cannot be counted.

Honestly it’d be so disappointing to see Chrom win this after all the vitriol, complaining, and hatred people have been spewing and then to see them get rewarded for it. Also, it’d just be another boring lord CYL and there’s little chance this would change next year. And yet FEH fans complain about lack of originality and then turn around and want safe options with predictable outcomes. *shrugs*

If Mia who has one trait of personnality can get two alts we can get get one version of Gatekeeper.

... I can’t tell if this is, “yes, Gatekeeper should win CYL so he’s actually guaranteed to get into the game” or, “no, Gatekeeper should not win CYL but get in as GHB or something even though that isn’t guaranteed at all”.

But, yes, Gatekeeper needs to be in the game so his fans are happy.  I mean if even Byleth with their... stale cardboard personality can get an alt and is getting voted for because of... ships I guess... then every single character deserves to be in FEH since the fanbase has no taste anyway.

I keep seeing things about Gatekeeper having no personality or growth?  Did people making these claims just... never talk to him?  Gatekeeper does have a personality.  He does have growth.  Early on, he laments not noticing that someone had snuck into the monastery and hopes to be forgiven.  In the next chapter, he immediately tries to make up for it by talking about the masked individual who sneaks out at night.  Then he continues trying to make up for his mistake by telling you about things, like Tomas’ disappearance, and by swearing no one will ever enter the monastery again, so long as he’s alive anyway.  Through this, we learn that Gatekeeper doesn’t want people to be disappointed in him and he tries so hard to ensure no one is disappointed in him again.

Gatekeeper also genuinely cares about everyone in the monastery.  He himself says he just wants to make people smile when you first meet him before quickly correcting himself about just guarding the gates with his life.  He cries when Jeralt dies and thanks Byleth for everything they’ve done.  He knows attacking Fort Merceus is basically a suicide mission and outright says he’s not ready to say his final good-byes.  This man has a huge heart!

Also, if Gatekeeper truly does end up winning and Kyle McCarley isn’t brought back to voice him, what’s the fucking point?  While Gatekeeper does have a generic appearance, Kyle McCarley brought a lot of life to him that complemented his personality really well!  He made Gatekeeper sound so sincere and like a bright light during some of the darkest moments of 3H.  It was such perfect casting and direction.

I don’t see the point of being mad about Gatekeeper ranking so highly.  He’s a popular character in his own right who people really genuinely like (granted some people do simply like him for memery and I won’t deny that).  Sure, he may not have plot significance, but it’s “choose YOUR legends” not “choose which lord you want a shiny new alt for”.  Sure, it may suck for you that your fav may not win this year, but we’re all just trying to have fun here so quit trying to ruin someone else’s.

Cant believe I have to say this again, but:

You cannot guilt-freely consume Japanese media, even FEH (who we have known for YEARS hires pronographic artists to draw for them).  It is extremely hard to do so simply because Japanese artists can, will, and do draw child pronography and face no charges simply because hentai is controversial at best over there.  This is because manga artists and anime directors argue that their current laws are simply too ambiguous to define for artwork.  At this point, it doesn’t look like the Japanese government is going to address it because a petition proposed in 2011 (one that included child pron anime) that Japan’s Liberal Democratic Party moved forward with in 2013 is still just... hanging in limbo it seems like. (All of this is according to Wikipedia, so some information may be outdated and when I try to learn more by using Google, I just get articles about hentai being outlawed in Australia )

Sure, you can hate that FEH keeps hiring artists who draw child pron, but, as I’ve stated before, this means FEH’s art director (or whoever commissions the artists) likely consumes that type of content.  Am I happy that FEH keeps commissioning people who draw child pron?  No, because I don’t believe these artists deserve exposure, however I do understand its legality needs to be sorted out in Japan first.

As I said before, if it’s all you can think about or it’s on your mind a lot when you play FEH, maybe quit the game?  ‘Cause, like, Japan law doesn’t look like it’s changing anytime soon, especially due to the apparent pushback from the manga/anime companies.

I sure love how these new arena maps seem overwhelmingly flier sided.  I really do look forward to the inevitable Flying Beast Emblem teams that will surely exist.  But at least that awful defense tile map, desert w/ water in the middle map, and breakable wall map are gone.  So that’s something at least.

It’s really weird Mirabilis is debuting on a normal New Hero banner.  But it kinda reminds me of how Peony and Eir were released.  They, too, debuted on regular banners (granted, Eir’s was a Hero Fest) only to immediately return on that month’s legendary.  Since only Sothis is confirmed to be in the red pool this month, I can see Mirabilis following in their footsteps and walking in to take up one of the two remaining red slots.  Since this seems extremely similar to Eir and Peony, I wonder if we’re going to get Mirabilis via the story as well?  I wouldn’t be surprised if we don’t, though, since we did already get Peony this chapter.  A little offended since it’d be nice to get a Defense Mythic through the story since all Defense Mythics are only obtainable via summoning and I’m still a little miffed our only free Mythics have been offensive ones, but not surprised by any means.
