Just SP GP's on point; FRED on rear of this overpowered fast freight with vintage railfanning pacing action. Bonus ballast train barging through with a raft of SPMW side-dumps surprise sighting of the section's ballast regulator and tamping machine.
In 1997, I bought a 1991 BMW E34 M5 as my daily driver.
In 1998, a BMW E34 M5 nearly identical to mine was used in one of the all time best car chases on film (Ronin 1998). This car chase is gritty and gets all the details right - the sound of the motor in particular. One detail to note: when the BMW is destroyed at the end of the car chase, it is not actually the M5 used during the chase. The director of Ronin, John Frankenheimer, did not want to destroy one of the limited number of hand built M5’s so he wrecked a 525 instead.
I still own my M5, one of less than 1400 that were imported into North America. I regularly go to car shows and not once has there been another E34 M5. Not once in 24 years.
Every time someone talks about "the border crisis" (usually meaning "too many brown people are trying to get in") I'm just reminded that nobody really treated the border as a big deal until a few influential people decided to be turbo-racist and they've made it our problem for 100 years
It's just so ridiculously on-the-nose. "Hey fellas, it's the Roaring 20s, we're all in the KKK, drunk on illegal hooch and we've just created the Border Patrol!"
