My first drabble is up🙈

Lucci and Kaku comforting Fiery/SassyFem! reader who is fighting off a mild illness (extreme fatigue edition) -Fluff

•Both Lucci and Kaku knew that when you stopped being sassy and fiery, and started being quiet, that there was wrong. Both of them had noticed that you'd been zoning out more and your mind had been super foggy.

•when you couldn't get out of bed the next day, they both started to worry. Kaku's emotions showed more than Lucci's. He began pacing and asking if you needed anything every 5 minutes and would constantly check your forehead for a fever and peppered you with kisses when he did. You told him you were just so tired and just wanted to sleep.

•Both Lucci and Kaku took turns checking in on you while you slept. You briefly woke up to find Lucci sitting on the edge of the bed staring at you with a soft, worried look, you blinked and his face reverted back to the same cool and collected look. He leaned down and lightly pressed his lips to your temple, as if you were made of porcelain. You mumbled something about Hattori before dozing back off. Lucci smiled faintly as your eyes fluttered shut.

• You had slept and slept and slept only getting up because Kaku had woke you up to run you a hot bath. You were still exhausted, dark bags painted your lower lids, but you gladly accepted the bath.

•Kaku insisted on staying with you while you soaked just in case you fell asleep in the tub. You assured him you wouldn't, but he wouldn't take that as an answer. 'I promise I'm not going to fall asleep in the bath' you giggled softly. 'But what if you do and you slip under the water?' He replied with a worried tone. 'Fine. Get in.' You sighed as you closed your eyes and ran your hand over your face. 'What?!' 'Get in so I can lean back on you, that way, I won't slip under the water.' His face was now 50 shades of red. 'But-...I-I...' he stuttered. Your mischievous grin finally reappearing on your tired face.

•At that moment Lucci stepped in, 'Hattori will watch her, you needn't worry.' He said in his usual cool tone as Hattori flew from his shoulder and perched on the towel rack. You gave Lucci a tired smile and pecked Kaku on the cheek before they left, leaving the door slightly cracked in case Hattori needed to alert them.

• 'I think she was serious about me getting in the bath with her.' Kaku, still red in the face, said to Lucci. 'Oh, she was. It's good to see her getting her fire back.' He chuckled, secretly wishing you had told him that instead of Kaku. 'Give her a few days and she'll be back to her normal self.'

Ok, so, basically this is my self insert haha. Anyway, I'm still extremely tired and I'm recovering, so please over look any typos or wrong tenses. I've had this idea for a few days, but just had enough mental clarity to jot it down just now. Hope you all enjoy❤ Don't you just love those two😍😍😍

G/N!Reader

Kaku

Kaku will notice over time how you seem to have trouble going to sleep at a specific time. You'll be awake late into the night, and sometimes even hours into the morning, which he is certainly worried about.

He knows not everyone can sleep as easily as he can or prefers the same times to rest, but still. Being well-rested and of clear mind is essential to getting the most out of your daily activities! So he'll mull over the fact that you and him seem to be on completely different schedules.

Being the honest man that he is, Kaku will tell you straight that he thinks you need to take better care of yourself. He doesn't want to see you suffer from fatigue and a foggy mind, and so implores you to try to keep to a routine to better do so.

He'll be relieved if you do make attempts to stabilize your sleeping routine, and will lay down alongside you even if he himself isn't tired. If it helps in any way to have him at your side, well, he'll always do what he can to assist.

Kaku will offer the comfiest cuddles he possibly could to help your tired mind calm enough to allow you to fall into a deep sleep. He'll even mumble stories in your ear if it does anything to help you.

He just wants to be of any help he can!

Donquixote Rosinante (Corazon)

Corazon is a little more subtle in the way he observes your unbalanced sleeping schedule. He knows you prefer to be awake during the evening when the sun isn't up, but with responsibilities during the day, it causes you to lose a lot of precious rest.

He'll try to unsuspectingly push you towards going to bed at an earlier time, telling you that he himself will be heading to sleep early. With luck, you'll be tempted to join him and get some rest yourself. It doesn't always work, so he has to keep thinking of ways to urge you to sleep.

Corazon will read up on all of the best foods or drinks that promote the body to begin it's sleep cycle. Teas and nuts, and any manner of other recommended snack that'll improve quality of sleep or at least help you get there. He'll honestly try anything.

When he's really desperate, he'll create a Calm Bubble around you, lessening noises that may be keeping you awake, promoting a quiet and restful atmosphere so that you might naturally fall asleep anyway.

And when he gets desperate, he'll beg you to come and lay down with him, simply because he's so concerned about your lack of sleep. If he must guilt you into taking better care of yourself, then he'll stoop to that level, though he doesn't enjoy doing so.

Both Lucci and Kaku know how much effort and energy you put into your work, and so it's not uncommon for you to return home completely exhausted and in need of some care.

So saying, they've developed a pretty effective routine to help you destress. One glance at your weary form and they'll share a glance, knowing precisely what the other is thinking.

Lucci will guide you to the couch, not accepting any sort of attempts at convincing him you aren't tired. It's quite obvious, so don't even try. The only response you'll get is a incredulous lift of his brow.

All the while Kaku will dig out the softest and warmest blanket he can find and bring it to you. He'll welcome you home as he wraps the fabric around you, making it a little snug so it feels a bit like a hug.

With you snuggled up in the blanket, Kaku sits beside you and guides you to lean against him until you're comfortable. Kaku is a very comforting and soothing presence overall. Just being beside him is often a balm on your mind.

Knowing that eating and drinking will lift your spirits after a physical or mentally demanding day, Lucci will put together a quick snack and something hot to drink. He's an excellent cook, so if he feels you're in desperate need for something more substantial, he's willing to make a fine meal. Either way, you'll be fed something delicious.

Once you're comfy, full, and your thirst satisfied, they'll both sit beside you on the couch while they put on a favorite movie or show. It'll be your choice what to watch. They'll switch the lights off so you're more likely to feel at ease. The goal is to switch off the part of your brain that's still trying to work, and so they want the atmosphere as calming and peaceful as possible.

If you're not in the mood to watch something, then they'll simply adjust until you're laying across both of their laps, and lull you to sleep to the feeling of their hands massaging any aching parts of your body. They might even quietly recount how their day went until your only responses are belated hums.

The quiet, and the attention to your wellbeing and comfort is all you need after a stressful day to feel complete. And they never fail to make you feel better.

‘How am I going to do this?’ You wondered, rubbing your chin in contemplation. For a while now, you’ve had a growing interest in your fellow crewmate, Marco. Something about him… you just couldn’t get enough of him. Every time he came around, he seemed to brighten your day, saying all of the right words and giving you that warm smile that always made your heart melt. The urge to tell him your feelings was becoming nearly unbearable, however, a part of you was fearful, unsure of how you’d handle rejection if it happened. Tapping your fingers on the dining table anxiously, you sighed to yourself, wondering how you were going to go about this. You heard a pair of footsteps coming from behind you but you didn’t bother to look, too caught up in your own thoughts.

“Hey, you barely touched your food,” Thatch commented, taking a seat by you, “What’s wrong? Are you sick?”

“No, it’s not that…” you said, looking off into space, “It’s just that… nevermind, it’s not that important anyway.”

“Hey, you know you can tell me anything. I’ve known you long enough to know when there’s a problem so please tell me, what’s going on? Do I need to beat somebody’s ass for you?”

Giggling, you respond, “Oh, Thatch, you’re too funny. No, it’s not that… I just… I really like Marco-”

“Oh, I already knew that. You make it so obvious,” he laughed.

“Wait… I do?” You asked, feeling a wave of anxiety wash over you.

“To me, yes you do. I’ve seen the way you look at him, you don’t consider him just an ordinary friend from what I can tell. Let me guess, are you planning on confessing to him?”

You wore a bewildered expression hearing his correct guess, “Wha-”

“See, Thatch knows,” he grinned pridefully, “Don’t sweat it, (Y/n). Marco is a pretty relaxed and chill guy so I think getting straight to the point is the best way to confess. Hmm… I think you should talk to him now. He’s on the deck overlooking the ocean, come on, let’s go!”

“W-Wait, Thatch-”

Before you could protest, the pompadour-haired male stood up, giving you a reassuring pat on the back and taking you by the hand to the door. Opening the door for you, he gave you a friendly push and smiled, mouthing a ‘you got this’ before closing the door to the dining hall. Your eyes darted around frantically as your heart raced, nervously anticipating the sight of a certain blond man. ‘Damn it, Thatch. Why did you have to do this to me?! I’m going to get your ass once this is done!’ You thought with a scowl. Looking around some more, your eyes landed on the very man who managed to make your knees weak every time you saw him: Marco. A breath hitched in your throat, taking in his content expression as he leaned against the ship’s taffrail, seemingly not having a care in the world. ‘He looks so at peace… and so handsome,’ you subconsciously smiled, feeling your cheeks heat up upon the beautiful sight. Taking a deep breath and muttering some words of encouragement to yourself, you approached the man, feeling every nerve in your body tense from how nervous you were. Hearing your footsteps, the blond looked over at you, smiling at your newly arrived presence. A fluttering feeling coursed throughout your heart as your pupils dilated, seeing his warm smile. ‘The feelings this man brings me… I need to tell him how I feel.’

“Oh, good morning, (Y/n). It’s good to see you yoi,” he said, his hooded eyes locking with your restless ones.

“H-Hey Marco, how are you today?” You stuttered, clearly showing how nervous you were.

“Mmm, I’m fine, just enjoying the nice breeze,” he hummed, looking off into the clear blue sky, “How about you? You seem a bit nervous, is everything alright?”

“Me? Nervous? Oh not at all,” you laughed awkwardly, “I just… didn’t get enough sleep last night is all.”

“That is hard to believe, you’re almost trembling yoi. Please, tell me what’s going on. You know I’m always here for you, (Y/n).”

Marco’s hand gave your shoulder a reassuring squeeze, which made you internally scream in glee. Absentmindedly, you slightly leaned into his touch, enjoying his warmth and care. Sighing, you diverted your eyes to the floor as you twiddled your thumbs nervously. ‘How am I going to say this?! Why didn’t I think this through?!’ Swallowing a nervous lump in your throat, you took a moment to gather your thoughts before looking back up at him, wearing a scarlet blush on your cheeks.

“Okay so… I like you, Marco. I like you more as a friend and… I do want to be you know… something more than that. It’s fine if that’s not what you want but,” you sighed, trying to find the courage to continue speaking, “I just need to tell you this. I like you a lot, Marco… I really do… and you make me happy.”

The corners of his lips curled before a chuckle escaped his lips, “Oh, you beat me to it yoi.”

“Huh? What do you mean?”

“I liked you since the start, (Y/n). You couldn’t tell? I think I need to be more direct with flirting then yoi.”

You could hardly believe the words coming out of his mouth, “Marco… r-really? You liked me… since we met each other?”

The blond nodded, smiling serenely, “Of course, how could I resist such a kind and beautiful woman like you? You really are special to me yoi.”

“I… Marco…” you whispered, lost for words at this surprise.

He chuckled at your shocked expression, playfully ruffling your hair before pulling you in a warm embrace. Unbeknownst to you, he was also nervous about confessing his feelings, which is why he held off on doing so for a while. He was actually a bit grateful that you confessed first for it brought a wave of relief and happiness upon him. Resting his head in the crook of your neck, he inhaled your sweet scent and rubbed the small of your back, content about how everything had played out. You wrapped your arms around him, snuggling in his embrace and giggling with happiness. Though you were happy how amazing the confession went, you were still going to skin Thatch’s ass for forcing you to confess when you clearly weren’t ready. However, maybe preparation isn’t needed for two people to profess their mutual feelings, maybe it’s supposed to come naturally. His thick lips pressed against your cheeks, peppering your face with kisses which made you both blush and laugh at the ticklish sensation. As much as he wanted to savor your lips in this moment, he decided he wanted to save it for a more intimate time when you two were alone together. Resting your head on his chest, you could feel Marco’s steady heartbeat as he ran his fingers through your hair. The sound of the waves crashing along the boat was music to your ears, making this moment even more special as you two relished in each other’s warm embrace.

“How about we spend the rest of the day together?” He asked, pulling away and taking your hand “We still have a few more days until we reach the island so let’s spend that time relaxing together yoi.”

Smiling, you took his hand and responded, “I would love that, Marco.” ☆
