Today is Armenian genocide remembrance day. On april 24, 1915 started mass deportations of hundreds of Armenian intelectuals and community leaders, who were (most of the time) eventually killed. Armenian women and children were systematically r//ed and forcibly converted into islam. There were more than 2 milion Armenians in ottoman empire prior to ww1, 1,5 milion of them were viciously killed. Three millennia of Armenian civilaziation in eastern Anatolis was fully destroyed. Turkey today refuses to acknowledge genocides of christian minorities in early 20th century.
Do you know that mass ethnic cleansing of Armenians in ottoman empire inspired Lemkin to coin the term 'genocide'?
Last year in september azerbaijan allied with turkey initiated a war against Armenia. More that 5000 Armenians were murdered, thousands of Armenia families had to live their ancestrial land to not get murdered. There are hundreds of vids on internet where armenian p.o.w.s are tortured. Recently azerbaijan opened a "museum" displayind dead or dying Armenians and kids were allowed to visit it.
Please educate yourself on Armenian genocide. You can also donate here to help Armenia. Thanks for reading!!
Happy Earth Day: celebrate by getting clean water in to Gaza!
(via unrwa): “Gaza: access to water is extremely limited and sanitary structures are insufficient to meet people's needs. Gaza's water supply remains at only 7 per cent of its pre-October 2023 levels.”
Gaza has been in a water crisis for months now, there is virtually no clean/drinkable/accessible water due to Israel’s occupation and siege.
With the summer months approaching, the temperatures in Gaza are rising (it will be nearly 40 celsius there this week) and the lack of viable water is going to continue to cause extreme destruction.
Here are some orgs to donate to that are getting water into Gaza/working on making water in Gaza accessible:
hi everybody! i'm a disabled trans guy living in rural missouri currently while i finish up my bachelors. this spring i graduate and while i'm currently waiting on graduate application decisions, i'm going to be moving either way (either in with my partner in chicago or to minneapolis). because of the situation, i've been unable to find work recently. i've been living off my savings and while i'll be able to pay rent for the next few months, i have no idea if i'll be able to afford moving. i finally have a way out and an end in sight though so i'm not going to give up on getting out of missouri as we move towards increasingly draconian legislation.
tldr: i'm a disabled transmasc living in a rural area unable to get a job due to extenuating circumstances. anything helps while i gear up to move this summer.
my pay//pal is here.
i also do commissions! if you're interested in a commission please reference this post.
Hah. Just pulled a fast one on Hades. He’s going to let us both go. All we have to do is walk one after the other and I don’t have to look back. This is going to be SO easy.
Since It’s Digijuly (a thing I made up to give myself an excuse to draw a lot of Digimon) I’m gonna start by resharingThese rookies from last year! Here are the fire-types
Hey everyone, please consider buying the 2024 itch.io Palestinian Relief Bundle- it's 373 games, game-making assets, tabletop roleplaying games, zines, and comics for a minimum of just 8 USD! They have a goal of 100,000 USD, and as of the time I'm writing this post, they have 8 more days to reach it.
Sudan still desperately needs aid--it needs a lot of things, but it is approaching a dangerous point with famine and mass death due to hunger imminent.
These are the kinds of headlines we're getting now:
Here's an ongoing fundraiser:
I linked it before, to help with Ramadan, but it's an ongoing initiative, the need has not stopped.
I picked this gofundme because it's been boosted by people I trust and you can see pictures online of the food they've provided, e.g.:
But I also picked this because you can see the amount of donations. It's 2pm ET on Saturday, April 20th right now? For the next week, whatever's donated, I'll match for a total up to $2,000 (we'll say 2,750 CAD, since the gofundme is in Canadian dollars).
You don't have to send me a receipt, I just ask that you donate and boost.
