Hey, me and my wife are both completely broke and basically out of groceries and hormones. I wasn't expecting to make a donation post this month, but I had to go out and buy a replacement phone after my old one was stolen by a guy who pulled a knife on me as I was walking home on the evening of the 8th.
Due to the way that GDPR laws are enforced here, a phone is essentially required to access literally any of your personal information (be that mail, bank, medical, meetings, job center, etc) making it non-optional for me and my wife to have a phone for us to be able to function in modern society.
We desperately need money to pick up our medicine and groceries until we get paid at the start of next month. We've been out of hormones for about a week and a half and have barely been able to make dinner for both of us these last couple of days.
We would be incredibly grateful if anyone is capable of helping out. Anything helps, even just sharing this post.

the academy still doesnt understand that best acting =/= most acting. emma stone may have had more screen time, lines, and narrative focus, but lily gladstone's performance was so much more nuanced. she said so much with just her eyes, with a single expression

the thing about poor things is that it's actually incredibly unsubtle about criticizing misogyny, so the current discourse feel very boring, because we could be having discourse about how the movie shouldve been even weirder

Btw you can actually be critical of sex work as a communist (along with all other forms of labor, which under capitalism will always be gendered, violent, and coercive) and be against things like human trafficking (especially in the Global South and FSU). Every principled communist knows sex work is exploitative (though not fundamentally different from other forms of labor exploitation since sex is not a mystical site of supernatural harm). That's not the issue here. The issue here is "feminist" organizations gleefully working with bourgeois cops and legislators to tighten the noose around sex workers and marginalized people at a time of unprecedented fascist assault on trans people and immigrants using "anti-trafficking", "anti-porn" etc. as excuses.

whats your most controversial eva opinion
what I believe about NGE is correct and everyone else is wrong about it, unless they agree with me, in which case I concede that their read is fundamentally correct but lacks a certain nuance I bring to the table

I really do have an honest question for libshit voteblues, and it seems like it isn't an honest question because that's what I call them but it's merely an honest descriptor:
Anyway, two questions.
Question the first: If Republicans have managed to game the formal structure of the democratic system so that they threaten to end it each and every election cycle, and the proximate consequence is transition to a fascist dictatorship under God Emperor Trump and his Project 2025, then what the FUCK is the appeal of democracy supposed to be? Why are we supposed to fight to keep this system in place instead of inaugurating some other system that categorically excludes fascists from access to political power?
And closely related question the second: if you really believe, if you really, really believe that the Republicans are getting ready to send my family and me back to the plantations and open up death camps for every central American immigrant and Muslim in the country, then why aren't you moving to make the Republican party fucking illegal? Why aren't you firebombing their offices or assassinating their ideologues? Because that's what people have done in the past in similar situations and your insistence on simply forestaying their sweep into power until 4 years later is not commensurate with the seriousness of the consequences in imminent loss of life that you're claiming to believe is at stake.

US liberals be like: "we need to protect the disabled and poc by making sure they remain an underclass forever. Advocating for a revolution means you want to kill minorities and the vulnerable."

so the average american is not aware of the controversy surrounding jk rowling, like this is a very online kind of knowledge to have. I mean that there are people who fully know I'm trans who talk about harry potter to me and there's no awareness of any of the discourse surrounding the work that's been going on for years, and idk where I'm going with this but sometimes there's a huge gulf between what we expect people to naturally know by virtue of us being on tumblr versus people who are not

interpreting jiang cheng as the responsible one is so funny because it's always wei wuxian who is forced to accomodate him, not the other way around. jiang cheng abandons the wens bevause theyre politically inconvenient and delivers an ultimatum to force wei wuxian to abandon them too, but wei wuxian chooses to walk the lonely, impossible path and honor their debts in jiang cheng's place. jiang cheng's feelings are hurt because his father mildly scolds him for victim blaming wei wuxian, but it's wei wuxian — who just had to endure madam yu smearing his dead parents' memory and hurtling verbal abuse at him, on top of jiang cheng lashing out at him — that has to placate jiang cheng to the point of swearing fealty to him. jiang cheng strangles wei wuxian and blames him for the destruction of lotus pier, even though he's fully aware that's not true, and wei wuxian has to just get over it and focus on protecting him. guys, jiang cheng is not the pure-hearted noble meow meow you want him to be. the whole point of mdzs is disrupting the gentry's propaganda and illusions. the nobles are not benevolent rulers, theyre not exceptionally wise, clever, or compassionate. theyre not the ones who have to live with or handle the consequences of other people's careless actions. did we even read the same novel
