Bloody wanker.
Sniper lowered the barrel of his trusted rifle, letting out a dissatisfied hiss as the enemy Engineer got out of sight. A missed opportunity for a good shot - he made a mental note to have a word or two with Soldier about rocket jumping in his line of sight. In the meantime, he had a Texan genius to catch.
He slang his rifle back on his shoulder, drawing his kukri instead. He knew too well that close combat wasn’t his forte, but then again, neither was it the Engineer’s. He didn’t need to get that perfect shot after all. There were only a few minutes left before the Announcer would call it a day: all he needed to do was to keep him off the point.
Adjusting his hat on his head, Mundy slipped outside, ignoring the mud slowing down his every move. God, he missed Australia, sometimes. Come on, booksmarts, where are you hidin’ now. Silently, Sniper moved forward, eyes scanning the muddy ground to try and track the Engineer’s footsteps. The trail led him to a high stack of crates; the Engineer, in all likeliness, hiding behind them. Grip tightened on his kukri, but as he was about to leap and surprise the other, a familiar voice cried out in his back: “SNIPER, WATCH OUT!”
Mundy barely had time to register the warning, body obeying his instincts first as he dived to the mud to avoid the enemy rocket launched at him. The rocket flew right past him and exploded in a wall nearby. “Shit!” He blurted out. So much for discretion.
The explosion startles Dell from his stupor. A rocket from his Soldier or Demoman  goes off nearby and the loud curse from an Australian accent goes off even louder by his left ear. It nearly startles him into moving, darting out from behind his  crates to turn on the man that had tried to get the drop on him.
“Nice try.” He can’t help but taunt, squinting at the Sniper from behind those thick-rimmed goggles of his. Even with his Sentry destroyed, Dell still had a gun in his hands, and you don’t ever take a knife to a gunfight.
Well, unless it was a very large knife.
A knife he wanted, very much, to stay as far away from his good self as possible.
Adjusting his grip on his gun, Dell backs immediately moves to put some space between them. Although, not too much space for the Sniper was...well, a Sniper. A good distance away means a quick end for him. The minutes were ticking  down quicker than he imagined; by this point, who knew how would win this little back and forth fight.
“Muds a good look for you!” He laughs as he exits(flees) stage-left.

Sonuva bitch.
Dell ducked swiftly, keeping low as he scurried for cover away from the Sniper. Too close. Way too close for comfort that was. The battle was getting dangerous; both sides were pushing hard to defend and to attack the point.
With a shaky sigh, Dell corrects his hardhat, calming his breathing enough to  get a layout. He hated Sawmill. Too much rain and mud stilfing his movements and risking his life constantly. Soaked through to the bone, Dell scrubs a hand down his face, knowing he just might catch something if he wasn’t careful.
Shuffling footsteps.
On the alert again, Dell grabs for his Frontier Justice, keeping low and out of sight. Whether he had strayed too close to the Red side, he didn’t know. These buildings all looked the same to him these days. C’mon. End already. He mentally begged. At this point, he didn’t care who won.
He just wanted to get back to base to sleep.

There was a light twitch in his brow, the only indication that his attempt at an insult had gotten to him a little. Even if the insult wasn’t that confidently said. A coward? Why he oughta-
Again, the Scout catches him by surprise. The Scout steps closer to him, thanking him for not letting his Sentry put a million bullets in him. Now that was more like it. Stuffing the PDA into his worker’s pouch on his belt, Dell  huffed and turned awa from him, using his Sentry’s now empty toolbox to gather what he could of the remnants.
“Weren’t nothin’. As I said previous. I don’t ever participate in Humiliation Round.  Never really saw th’ joy in huntin’ down the losin’ side.” Shutting the lid, Dell set the toolbox beside his other one. “Besides...” He trails off, sending a glance back in the Red’s direction.
“You’ve strayed a little too far from home...huh?” He looks around, gesturing with his head. “I know m’team’s path by now. They’ll work their way as far as they can to th’ Red base ta pick up stragglers. But they aren’t allowed ta go in extremely far, right? None’a them will come back this way. They’ll all be back in th’ Blu base in...say...ten minutes?”
“Y’all kin stay here with me until then. Humiliation Round don’t ever last so long.”

☂ = giving them their jumper to keep warm
“Ya really don’t hafta do this, Nick.”
Coldfront. Not one of the warmest places around, but Dell was used to the coldby this point. But that fact alone still didn’t stop the Pyro from dumping a too-largejacket over the Engineer’s shoulders. Hell, this was even large on Nick! Where did he even get something so big?
Stole it from a Heavy? Probably, probably.
Still, Dell tucks the jacket further across his shoulders, shielding himself awayfrom the chilling bite of the cold. A heavy huff from his lips was followed by apuff of warm air freezing in the cold.
“Still though. Might appreciate it.”

@practicalsolutions
Hunched over his work, a pen tucked behind his ear and hands all but lodged  into the mechanisms of his Sentry, Dell found himself focused completely on trying to get two little wires connected. The Sentry remained off, as if waiting patiently for the Engineer to finish his work.
Removing his hands from the inner machines after a small moment of time,  Dell breathes out a heavy sigh as he scrubbed the oil and grease off his hands.  He’d been aware of the other Engineer sitting in the same room he had been, but Dell had been ignoring him for the longest time.
“Done...now what’cha been sayin’?” He questions, raising his head at  the other man. “Sorry I ain’t been such’a good coversational buddy this entire time. Wanted ta finish this.”

It had to be Dell’s luck that Scouts were, normally, always the same. They talked big game, but that was the extent of what they could do....okay that was a lie. Dell didn’t always tell anyone this, but EVERYONE had their uses.
Plucking the goggles off his face, Dell takes the time to clean off any remnants of soot or dirt off them. What was he on about now? Killing him? Always so quick to judge to. By now, Conagher figured he should be used to it. But he wasn’t. Scouts tended to always  find something new to spout on about.
Patience, Dell. Patience.
“I probably know’em.” Idiots in blue. Yep. He could definitely name a few of them. But they were still his team, and even if they liked participating in the Humiliation Round, they were good people.
“Before I answer yer question...” The goggles are placed back over pale blue eyes, and Dell begins to approach the kid, cocking his head at him in a mix of curiosity and perplexity. “You should git up off th’ ground. I ain’t gonna kill ya.” His PDA is taken off the ground slowly, fingers brushing over the self-destruct features. What remained of his Sentry exploded into a fit of sparks, while his Dispenser slowly tucked back into it’s toolbox.
“I don’t participate in Humiliation Round. I got better things ta do.”

There was a part of Dell that froze entirely as his Sentry Gun set its sights on someone. It was a sort of sound that’d normally bring a grin to his face because some dumb shmuck was about to get it. But those feelings only lasted during the battle. Only now, there was a chill of fear, of horror that  someone had run all this way over here, and now they were gonna get shot dead.
Not if he had anything to say about it.
A metal had catches one of the gun’s barrels. It was only in Level Two right now, so Dell was pleased he wouldn’t have to move the rocket launcher bit out of the way. Using some muscle, Dell forced the two barrels up, up, up, until he began to hear the gears and joints of his Sentry gun begin to creak and groan in protest.
The Sentry kept firing, but the bullets drifted off into the air, shooting at  nothing but the sky, and with one last movement, both barrels snapped off completely. The only thing his Sentry would shoot not is sparks. Cursing a bit, Dell turns to face the Red that had run all the way over here. What kind of idiot would run into the Blu...oh.
The Scout. He should have known.
‘And what th’ hell were you thinkin’ comin’ all the way out here?” Dell spits, crossing his arms and glowering at the Scout past the lenses of his goggles.
