I would be remiss If I should ever forget The taste of your lips From the sweetest kiss Allow me to reminisce Of the time of our beginning; a dreamlike bliss

I recall A striking figure, beautiful and tall With a shape that could make a man reckless You left me breathless I lost myself in your eyes In your presence, time simply flies

Like a thunderbolt that struck my soul It was as if I had sat down with a friend of old This feeling, this magic, this connection I felt compelled to express my affection The warmth swelling in my chest, I had to express it

Words flowed freely between us I wanted to know you, that was a must And I couldn’t deny my growing lust For the woman who came into my life like a gust You had a silver tongue to match that sharp wit A personality that overflowed with a zest for life and true grit Our banter came all too easy, I must admit You and I, we seemed to fit Then it all blends together in a magnificent haze A whirlwind of halcyon days Fun dates and hotel stays Your skin, your body, your lips that I craved Your mind I yearned to entertain Tracing along your essence like an oceanic maze I lost myself in your waves The ringing of your voice in the night, song of a nightingale A siren’s voice could not compare Even words from Heaven would pale Now it’s no longer the same No more chasing, no more flirty fun games Still my memory remains In my mind you are unchanged A woman crafted with the sweetest ingredient As if shaped by Michelangelo's hands, to me you were radiant I will forever remember the passion born from this heat A romance with a woman, so sugary sweet

With every word you write I am reminded of the dimensional gap between us Yours is the realm of Asgard and Olympus Of gods, myths and magic Yours is the gift of the immortals One of the chosen

Like blessed rain from Freya does your gospel fall onto the page Your thoughts penetrate They take shape Galaxies are made Reality gives way As your glorious voice shatters space Time means nothing to you My mind is taken to a higher state

How many facets to the glittering diamond of your existence? How many twists, turns, and corridors within your soul?

A blazing sun against the backdrop of my universe Eons pass and the light fizzles and fades from the stars But you endure My being baptized by the rays of the goddess Your shining light burning through my very core

And what of me? I am of THIS world This dirty world One of my own design A world full of doubt and sadness Pain and madness

I cannot grab hold of my heart I cannot grasp it But standing in the wake of your footsteps I feel as though I can get back the pieces That I lost long ago Gift of the goddess

You don't see me You cannot possibly see me You are the guiding light to so many But I walk quietly behind you Always and I do not speak of these things

For I fear I would lose the light of your soul Which illuminates this path before me I fear you would turn your head, and you would not be Who I need you to be For me Forgive me

In your wake, I can see what was once hidden I can cut away the falsehoods and weaknesses Of my mental prison

Perhaps one day we can meet In that higher plane that you call home But not yet I wish to keep observing The path you tread

Keep being you So I can keep Burning away The previous me And always be reborn through your bravery and grace

Black Trees

The great American past time Tradition made on sacrificing black lives No more racism, so says the right Wraiths of the past snatches up innocents at night

Police claim suicide Attempt to silence indignant cries We see through the lies Our ancestors gave their lives That we might not lose our pride

In the wake of marches Humans erased by darkness Some of those that work forces Are the same that burn crosses

Choking on the rope of American excellence For demanding equality blacks must repent Black death for national prosperity, that’s the rent Land of liberty and dreams, at blacks expense

Centuries pass and what’s changed The violence and hatred is all the same Our anguish, our tears and our pain Innocents suspended on branches is America’s shame

How much more suffering does this nation need? Time passes, but we are still not free Blacks have long since paid the fee

Still our path remains blocked as far as the eye can see Freedom’s light blotted out by a canopy of black trees

Our Rage

Fists in the air

Altogether to take on the system that’s never fair

The machine doesn’t care

Feeds on you, Feeds on me

Feeds on we

Two parties, same agenda

In the pockets of the big money spenders

Wall Street runs these streets

Corruption runs deep

Goes back centuries

Devours the citizenry, it deserves no sympathy

Demand peaceful protest and complacency

But real change only happens when we riot in the streets

That’s the same hypnosis

Convince you to give up your own powers, no we own this

No accountability for corruption leads to facism, the old prognosis

A power built on systemic racism

Got our white kin not realizing the underlying classism

Our oppression is in the same vein

The lower class is suffering the same pain

While the ignorant shout All Lives Matter

Our education and health care are left in tatters

That’s the trick to distract your focus

While these politicians do a hocus pocus

Offer thoughts and prayers while our kids die in classrooms

Never do anything to address the countries problems, why I ask you?

Because that’s the game

Centuries pass and it’s the same

Each party just finger points and blames the other

While we die in the streets crying for our mother’s

It’s up to us to be the change

We gotta come together and end their reign

We fight as one and break the chain

Rally as one beast that can’t be tamed

Birds

I see many broken birds as I walk my road

Busted wings and shattered dreams

They scream in painIt hurts, it hurts

And their cries speak to me

I know, I know

I pick them up and mend them the best I can

Not a doctor

Just a friend

Just a man

They always leave

Just a little better off than when we met

And I'm always sad when it happens

But I keep going on my way

Perhaps you say I care too much

Yes, I understand

But I cannot deny that part of me

That soft compassionate heart of me

Sometimes the birds tell me they prayed for my arrival

The thought makes me smile

I wonder how many more birds I will meet on the way

How many hearts I will touch before the sun sets

Good cops get devoured by evil

Nah dude, some police are genuinely trying to make the world a better place. They go through a lot of shit so that they can try and help people. I hate most of the shit police do. I don't like being told what to do either. But people are fucking killing cops. That's people killin people and it's fucked. You're the death of your own cause if you condone violence and murder ya dumb fuck. Black lives matter, let's protect them by not murdering good people and giving nazis any sort of argument.

Gonna break down this response as clearly as possible.

The origins of the police are evil.

It has been shown repeatedly that the police were formed to oppress the working class and (1, 2) and enforce white supremacy (1, 2, 3). In fact, the early U.S. police grew directly out of slavery.

The police aren’t the people you think they are.

The police don’t care about you – they don’t even have a constitutional duty to protect you. They’re allowed to take your property without your consent (the NYPD seizes so much property they can’t even log it in their computers). In fact, cops are more likely to steal your property than burglars are. They commit hundreds of crimes and human rights violations against people like you & me and get away with it because they cover for each other.

Cops tend to be unusually aggressive, authoritarian, and secretive (Greene & Heilbrun, 2011). They are more than twice as likely to commit domestic violence than the rest of the population, and (once again) they cover for each other when doing so. The police are on the side of neo-Nazis (1, 2). In fact, many times the police themselves are the neo-Nazis/klansmen (1, 2, 3). And even besides all this, cops do all kinds of other shady shit – for instance, undercover police are used to instigate fights during protests and rallies.

The police terrorize those of us who are marginalized.

The police disproportionately arrest Black people for drugs even though white people use drugs more often. They disproportionately pull Black people over for traffic stops. The police terrorize people with disabilities.They are viciously anti-indigenous – and always have been. Police terrorize sex workers. There are countless examples of police brutalizing homeless people (1, 2, 3). The police have a lengthy history of brutality against the LGBT community (1, 2). They terrorize women of color and get away with it (1, 2, 3). They kill massive numbers of people each year – and a disproportionate number of their victims are Black and native. On top of that, recent data suggests cops may kill up to twice as many people as we even thought they did. And while police love to defend themselves by saying they have the most dangerous job, that’s not even close to being true.

The police’s best kept secret: We don’t need them!

A world without the police is completely possible (1, 2, 3, 4). We have resources for resolving violence as communities without the need for state intervention (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 – as some examples). We as communities are better capable of resolving violence than the police are, because we don’t have the vested interest in the status quo that they have. Even if a few cops are well-intentioned here or there, it doesn’t change that the role of the police is to work against the vast majority of us in the interests of the (white) elite few.

Why are you so invested in the police when they are complicit in your dehumanization?
