ᚐᚚᚌ ⊰ She couldn’t help but smirk- even chuckle a bit- at June’s sudden loss of confidence. She could respect her ability to maintain her bravery, however. Vriska took a few steps forward, playfully swinging her dark blue cutlass around in her left hand, while the other one rested on her hip. June seemed to have sorely underestimated her- or at least she knew she would’ve been outclassed like this and just wanted to take her chances. Either way, it was obvious who would win at this moment.
Tumblr media
ᚐᚚᚌ⊰♏⊱ᚒ “You’re pretty 8r8ve, I’ll give you that.~”
ᚐᚚᚌ ⊰ Vriska tossed her cutlass aside- which should’ve caused it to be sent tumbling off the side of the building, but instead i floated in the air a few feet to the side. Vriska cracked her knuckles, and took a somewhat offense-oriented hand-to-hand position.
ᚐᚚᚌ⊰♏⊱ᚒ “I don’t want to injure you that 8adly.”
Keeping a brave face right now wasn’t exactly easy. Still, there were probably some things she could take advantage of right now given that this wasn’t exactly a life-or-death scenario. Her gaze shifted towards the ground, observing the various scuffs and scrapes caused by her dragging her staff when she got knocked back. June’s posture relaxed slightly as she looked back up at Vriska.
“So uh, I’m gonna assume this whole beefed-up version of ya is like... a special sort of thing? This certainly doesn’t seem like the sort of get-up you’d wanna roll if you weren’t planning on killing someone.”
She leans back a little with her hands still firmly grasped on her staff.
“If ya didn’t wanna injure me too badly, why go all out so suddenly?”
This was a bit of a bargain, trying to get her to pause for a moment to either explain what the living hell was happening or maybe even get her to hold back a touch. If all else failed though she might just have to toughen up and find a way to exploit some kind of flaw in Vriska’s battle plan. Looked pretty flawless from here though...

ᚐᚚᚌ ⊰ Vriska was quick to roll her eyes, disregard June’s comment- as she didn’t want to fatally wound her in this fight- and her fluorite octet returned to her hands, orbiting around her fingers once again. She lunged off at the side to make some distance between her and June. She felt a small smirk stretch across her face. A lot of her strength came from just pure skill and, of course, luck- which was really her only light-based power. She knew how to manipulate luck into her favor, but physical light manipulation just wasn’t her thing.
She decided to give her dice another roll- see what the fates had in store for her. When she saw a fiery blue aura surround her form, however- she knew exactly what had happened. she lunged backwards, tossing her wooden sword aside, and allowed the aura to eventually consume her entire form and completely block her from June’s line of sight. To her, there was merely a ball of fire in the air where Vriska once floated. Mere seconds later, the fire subsided into embers and floated away with the wind.
Tumblr media
ᚐᚚᚌ⊰♏⊱ᚒ “This ‘cool’ enough for you, kid?”
ᚐᚚᚌ ⊰ Then, all at once, Vriska dashed forward at June.
“Ah shi-”
Before June could finish processing what was going on she had been tossed backward by Vriska dashing straight towards her, tumbling and struggling to get her footing. Well, she had a point at least, this was pretty fucking cool if painful.
“God-dangit what happened a friendly spar?! Can’t two girls just duke it out on a rooftop without one of them going pseudo-super saiyan?”
A mixture of annoyed yet somehow eagerly waiting what Vriska’s about to pull out of her proverbial hat next she gestured at the troll, using her hand to signal her to come at her again. Her smile returned but she was noticeably less confident and more rigid in her expression.
“Of course, you’ve already pulled your ace out it looks like. I’ve still got plenty of surprises left~”
Despite being faced against impossible odds she was still continuing to egg Vriska on. She may or may not be having a bit too much fun with this already...

ᚐᚚᚌ ⊰ Her eyes followed the glowstick as June played with it, tossing it around. If her own fluorite octet were any clue towards what this meant- Vriska was immediately under the assumption that June was about to pull some light-based fuckery with that glowstick of hers. Mere moments later, soon after June made a somewhat snarky comment about said fuckery that was soon to ensue, Vriska made an attempt to cover her eyes, but was just barely too late before the bright flash covered the entirety of the rooftop.
Vriska firmly shut her eyes, and leapt back off of the rooftop to make some distance. Her godtier wings shot out her back and kept her from falling to the streets below. In her somewhat blind stupor, she clenched her fists and threw out the fluorite octet. They clattered to the rooftop below and let out a somewhat dim blue glow, before summoning a literal pile of swords. Vriska blinked a few times to slightly regain her vision, and swooped down to the pile to pluck out the least lethal weapon of the bunch- a wooden training cutlass.
Tumblr media
ᚐᚚᚌ⊰♏⊱ᚒ “That’s a pretty defensive w8y to start a                   fight, don’t you think????????”
After the flash had cleared June was, unsurprisingly, nowhere to be seen. Having taken the opportunity to break line of sight with Vriska while she was hastily scrambling to not get thrown off a cliff. After she had picked out her weapon of choice though she showed up, leaning over Vriska’s shoulder to take a peek at what she had selected to fight with.
“Ooh, A wooden sword! Only the deadliest weapon I see~”
June chuckled a little, a clear indicator she was being sarcastic. Still looking down at the rest of the weapons she was both impressed that Vriska could apparently do that and also realized that Vriska probably wasn’t taking this as seriously as she thought she was either. There were much sharper swords in that pile so the fact she just picked up a training sword was a blessing.
“Anyway, Izzy likes starting fights with a bang so I made a little somethin’ as like. A token of our friendship... and promptly borrowed it for this fight!”
Hopping a few paces back she brought out another small, stick-like object that was in a retracted state. After the press of a button however it extended out and turned into something like a bo-staff with a fair amount of technological... stuff on it.
“OK! A little less messing around now, but I do want to see what other neat stuff you can do! Because, y’know, materialising a shit-ton of swords wasn’t cool enough. Cool, but I think you could do something cooler!”

Crossing her arms, June takes a quick moment to take a complete look at Vriska. A small smirk formed on her face as she stuck her hands into her pocket and got out what appeared to be a glowstick. Looking down at it and shaking it slightly she looked back up at Vriska.
While she spoke she was deftly twirling the glowstick between her fingers and tossed it into the air a couple of times.
“I mean that’s what got you here, ya? Anyway, I don’t doubt you can probably beat me in a one-on-one so instead of just putting our attention into a simple punch-out, let’s get to know each other a little better while we do this~ Besides-”
She looked back at Vriska with her smile growing wider as she stopped messing with the stick, bringing it up to eye-level of the two of them.
“-I reckon it’ll take you a bit to actually hit me!”
With that she cracked the glowstick and the rooftop was consumed by a blinding light.

Waiting for Vriska was, unsurprisingly, the girl who had the most active contact with her during their game. On the roof of an apartment complex that had apparently become the venue for their spar was the short-haired and high-strung Rogue of Light, June Willow.
From the looks of things she had actually been waiting for a while. Sitting cross-legged while typing something on her laptop. As soon as she hears Vriska’s voice however, she hops up from her place and puts her laptop away.
Tumblr media
“Well, well, well! Good to know you made it here fast enough.”
Despite all the time that had passed in their session, June still looked like she had been dragged through the dirt. Same old clothing and messily cut hair like she was committing to the look now or something. It’s been so long that she’s done anything to her attire that her natural black hair was starting to poke through her bleach-blonde hair.
“I know that this is, like, kinda abrupt given we just got done with things… but I just had to meet one of ya before the others did! Y’know, get a scope of the situation before they did~”
ᚐᚚᚌ ⊰ Vriska stepped off of her skateboard and retired it to her sylladex. To an outsider, it simply vanished in a small puff of smoke. She slipped her hands into her jacket pockets, and walked closer to June. Her hands had boxing tape wrapped around them, signifying that she was more than ready for this spar that June had invited her to.
Tumblr media
ᚐᚚᚌ⊰♏⊱ᚒ “Nah, don’t worry a8out it.”
“Don’t 8e too discouraged if I end up a lot                  stronger than you. I am from a more popul8d                  session.”
ᚐᚚᚌ ⊰ She pulled her hands out of her jacket pockets, and each of her individual fluorite octet dies were wedged between her fingers. She let go of them momentarily, and they started to softly orbit around her hands in a short radius. They each had a soft blue glow to them, as well.
ᚐᚚᚌ⊰♏⊱ᚒ “You did want to spar, right?~”

ᚐᚚᚌ ⊰ The gamma session was something Vriska had been closely monitoring over ever since she’d come into contact with its players. Seeing that the session’s game had recently come to a close, she was fully expecting to finally be able to meet the players now that they were added to the Winner’s Session. She didn’t expect to get invited for a sparring session, though.
She wasn’t one to turn down a bit of fun, however. Shortly after she received the coordinates to where she was going to meet with one of the session’s players, she grabbed her skateboard out of her sylladex and took to the streets.
It took about twenty minutes to get to the spot. They weren’t very far away.

As soon as Vriska threw herself at Keri, she wrapped her arms around her in the same fashion. Her grip on her was tight, as if she was trying to keep them both within this reality. A reality where both of them could find their paths through tumultuous times.
Ironically, she never had any real game-plan at all whenever she talked to Vriska. Theoretically she should have the foresight to basically do anything and know what the end goal is, but her vision was clouded. All she saw was the distorted faces of her friends overlayed over one another in an image that could only described as something not of this, or any, reality.
Yet despite her twisted vision and time constantly pulling at her every seam, she refused to let it get to her. Not when other people were hurting. Not while Vriska hurting.
“ It’s OK... It’s going to be OK...”
She wasn’t full on sobbing like Vriska was, but there was tears rolling down her cheeks. Not that Vriska could see them, nor did she care if she was crying. Her vision grew more hazy and her body shook as the scene in front of her ripped into pieces as it tried to figure out every possible tangent that would spawn from this moment. It hurt. She saw ever bad ending, yet she saw every good ending as well. It was a burden she was willing to bear for now.
“ You’ll find a way to live with yourself. To finally move on from the things you’ve done... and if you won’t, then I’ll scour through every possibility for the answer. We’ll find a way. “

“ … “
Damnit, she saw this coming as well. She knew that, no matter her reasoning, she’d react to this poorly. Vriska had been through alot and she had forced people to go through things much worse. Keri understood this, despite not having any real grounds to relate. Yes during her time in the Medium she made her share of mistakes but she assumed those weren’t going to affect her long-term. This however, this was something that was clearly eating away at Vriska.
Her gaze became more harsh, yet she still remained stoic. Even after Vriska punched the wall of her home she wasn’t deterred. She came here with a clear goal in mind and she wasn’t leaving until she got her point through.
“ That’s not true. “
“ First off, I’m you’re friend. Nothing you could say to me would make me think otherwise. I don’t know how you can even begin to think that, but I’m going to reaffirm that you’re wrong. “
Keri gritted her teeth, her hands balled up into fists. Her vision was becoming less distorted as she fully focused on this one singular moment, consequences be damned.
“ I… I suppose I can’t say that what you did was right either. No, I’m fully aware that what you did was awful and if I had met you six years ago I would’ve made it a mission to slap you upside the head so hard it’d do a 720-degree turn… but I can tell that you’ve changed. That you’re trying to make amends, but at the same time you’re still letting these thoughts eat away at you. That’s why I came over… “
She was starting to shake now ever so slightly. Either she was blinded by rage over the fact that Vriska hadn’t let go of this despite Tavros seemingly not giving a crap anymore, or just upset that she always had to see this look on Vriska’s face.
“ When you came over two days ago I was… I was happy. I was so happy you were there. You made me feel like I didn’t have to go through things alone. That I didn’t have to suffer the burden of inevitability by myself, and that you’d try to help. Every time I see you like this it… it physically hurts. Seeing the worst of you surface like this hurts because I can’t help but care. “
A sharp breath was taken, tears began surfacing again. Her arms instinctively reached out and grabbed Vriska’s wrists as she pulled her closer as her gaze shifted to the ground.
“ Even if I can’t relate to this problem at all. Even if you feel as though you still deserve to hurt for what you did. Even if you think you have no friends. Can you… “
She looks up, puffy-eyed yet determined.
“ …Can you let me try? Let me try to help you realize that there’s a future past this, that you deserve and have friends… Let me at least do that… “
ᚐᚚᚌ ⊰ Her gaze was mostly fixated on Keri’s face and what she was saying, but her attention was immediately grabbed by a certain passerby who was supposedly trying to get into their house- it was Jade. She forced herself to look away from her- she couldn’t look at her Kismesis. Not now, while she was like this. She didn’t deserve her…
She didn’t deserve this level of care- to be offered a place to stay and live. She felt her hands firmly clench into fists, and she looked up to Keri once again. Much to her shock- she was crying once again.
Tumblr media
ᚐᚚᚌ ⊰ She could only sit and listen while Keri’s words reached her ears and further threw her emotions down the hole. She felt stupid, every time she had these outbursts she felt so fucking stupid. Like she had no reason to be like this- she had no reason to be negative, and yet these feelings always came back… always haunted her from the back of her mind.
She did not offer any resistance when Keri grabbed her wrists and pulled her closer, and her sight was trained directly at her.
Tumblr media
ᚐᚚᚌ⊰♏⊱ᚒ “Keri, I……..”
ᚐᚚᚌ ⊰ She felt so lost. All of her feelings didn’t feel grounded in the slightest- every swing of emotion she had seemed to only serve to further alienate herself from everyone else and make things harder for everyone around her.
She just wanted to stop. But she wanted to receive proper punishment for everything she’d done- and at this point the only thing she would accept… is death.
But she felt like she had a reason to stay.
Tumblr media
ᚐᚚᚌ⊰♏⊱ᚒ “I-I just….. I…..”
ᚐᚚᚌ ⊰ And just as quickly as all of her anger had built up, it cascaded down into a fit of sadness. She felt she could no longer keep in her despair- drops of cerulean escaping from her eyelids and rolling down her cheeks. She threw herself at Keri and buried her face into her shoulder, firmly wrapping her arms around her.
Tumblr media
ᚐᚚᚌ ⊰ She didn’t know what to do. She didn’t know what to say- she didn’t feel like she had the strength to take the proper steps to recovery.
Tumblr media
ᚐᚚᚌ ⊰ She felt trapped in her own mind.

As soon as Keri touched down outside of Vriska’s door, she tensed instinctively. She barely knew what kind of relationship her and Tavros had during or before the game so this probably came off as a major breach in privacy. Though she knew if she let it sit and fester for long enough it’d probably end pretty badly. Besides, this was brought on by faceless meddlers who shouldn’t have a say in this, so she’s going to have a say in if they’re going to do so.

“ Was kind of hoping you’d know why I was here, considering my track record for being concerned about you. “
The mage tilted her head, eyes squinting a little as she mulled on what to say. God she had no angle to come from did she. No matter what way she sliced it, this was pretty invasive and a major misuse of her vision. Well, she’d have to tackle this no matter what way you slice it so…
“ While I have no prior knowledge of your relationship with Tavros, I can assume that you’d at least be willing to talk? Like in general? Someone else to talk to rather than the voices of anons? “
Yeah, that’ll do for now.
ᚐᚚᚌ ⊰ Her fingers tightly clenched the door she was holding open, temptations to slam it closed in Keri’s face rising to the stratosphere. Her hands trembled slightly in their stagnation- but she let go of the door and just punched a nearby wall instead. Her knuckles went through the wood and plaster with ease, only leaving small surface wounds and bruises on her hand in return.
The invasion of privacy meant nothing to her. A lot of her life was built on invading privacy, and even to this day she used unethical tactics and methods of trade to reach the point she’d gotten to. She was very wealthy- but that didn’t come without knocking other people down a few pegs along the way.
