Somewhere between last week Monday and Wednesday I found my spark again.. Buried deep under layers of crap and chaos. From that day.. I realised a few things.... 1- take time out for yourself. You can't be Superman all the fucking time. ⌚ 2 - it's okay to say no to things which don't sit well with your person. Listen to your gut, it picks up more than you know. 👂👂 3 - Remember to reflect on your shortcomings and have an action plan to fix them. Not all at once, one at a time usually works best. ⌚🤔🎊 4 - Make sure that you surround yourself with a team of peolle that you vibe with. Nothing kills/brings a team down worse that someone who doesn't click well with and doesn't share your vision. 🤔🤔 5 - Remember to appreciate your team on its success. Every person brings a unique life experience and skill set to the dam table which should not be ignored.🙏 6 - Remember to listen to your team. Leaders usually dictate to their teams as subordinates and expect performance, perfection execution and 100% all the time. They are not robots- let them own a situation and use their skills to own it while you trust them enough to do something.👏 7 - Work Smart, Work efficiently and work effectively. If someone has a faster way of doing something which takes you longer to do, don't be afraid to let them run with an Idea. No one hates a arrogant know it all. 🙄 8 - Honor your team, support and appreciate them. After all, as a leader when they succeed, they make you look good so don't be an asshole. Be stern when needed but don't be purposely demeaning. A unhappy team translates to poor performance no matter your business.👌🏻 Today, I appreciate my team who always work harder than most and don't clock out when the hour hits 17.00. 🕒 They are certainly a unique bunch and I really do appreciate everything they do. Their time, energy and commitment will not be wasted as i will fight to ensure that they are able to achieve their dreams and ambitions.👏👏 I may be a hard ass person.... We're taught to not show emotion because it represents weakness and that you cannot take pressure of life. We've been taught that we cannot show our emotions because of we're weak.. We are not worthy. That we are unworthy of affection. Unworthy of leading others. Society has taught men to be robots.. To not show affection, love or frustration. Society shapes the idea of the male as 'hard, emotionally absent and distant' especially when faced with death. A lot of us men have subconsciously adapted this as their standard inclusive of myself. Despite this, we try to be unique and improve these points. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. To my fellow men who struggle with this.. Know You are not alone.
