If Nyx was raised in Insomnia, would he still complete the First Hunt of clan Ulric? Or would he be an Utris or even Nameless in that au?
He would most likely be Nameless.
He would refuse to take the First Hunt of Clan Utris, not wanting to have anything to do with them for what the Clan Head did to his mother.
And the spirits would not guide him through the Ulric First Hunt because he is too closely connected to the Lucis Caelum part of his line.
In this au, Selena would earn herself the name Ulric.

In dreams of our past, Noctis had to actively suppress his healing during the Marilith attack so it didn't give him away as non-black mage.
But what if he couldn't do it? Maybe was unconscious, or maybe in too much pain to concentrate. Anyway, he fails and he heals his injuries where other people, including Regis, can see it. What happens next?
I tried multiple times to write a little one shot for this and failed miserably. So I'll just ramble a bit, if you don't mind.
Noctis falls unconscious and his magic protects him. Which means it heals him. A gentle golden and purple hue glows on his back and Regis is... not devastated, but it's close.
He's happy his son is alive and mostly healed. Of course he is. And his son's magic is strong enough that he can feel it prickle across his tongue from over 10 metres away. But it's not black magic. It's not black magic.
And that is the problem.
Lucis Caelum children without black magic are cursed. Regis's heart bleeds for his son. He rushes over, not quite daring to touch Noctis's back, but cradling him close nonetheless.
All around them the soldiers start to whisper.
"A miracle."
But Regis knows it's not a miracle. Was this what the prophecy was all about? It couldn't have been.
The Chosen King is known however, to the general populous. A knowledge they gained through little grains of the prophecy making it into prayers.
May the Chosen King come and bring us to salvation.
And if the people think the Gods holding a protecting and healing hand over their chosen king as a sign of his coming, then Regis would lean into that until he believed it himself. All to protect his son.

There was a huge fight between Mors and Alyxa.
The truth was however, that Alyxa was very poor. Clan Head Utris knew who Nyx's father was and as a 'punishment' mostly cut Alyxa off from Clan support. She could not feed herself and a small child.
So.
She made a choice.
Alyxa gave her son up under the condition that he would stay with her at least 3 months of a year.
Mors agreed.
During his time on Galahd, Nyx was Nyx son of Alyxa. But in Lucis he was Vitale Lucis Caelum. He knws he has a younger sister. And once Regis accompanied him to Galahd for a few weeks. (Selena also calls Regis her brother. It makes Regis stupidly happy.)
The treatment of the Galahkari in Insomnia changes. Nyx/Vitale took on the task to make sure they settled in and had what they needed. So no theft during their admission. (There were attempts made, but Nyx cracked down on that real fucking quick.)

Nyx as the long suffering translator. He hates his fucking job. At least the pay is good.
Did the whisp warn Galahkari before they hypnotized them all and dragged them to Galahd, or did everyone have a surprise awakening after undetermined amount of time?
Where would the fun in warning them be? They will have everything they need and their home!
How much time has passed? The Galahkari don't know. The fihrie don't care. They've got their humans back.

This little blurb kinda wrote itself XD
.
Nyx lay on a tree branch as high up in the air as possible. His paws and tail dangled in the air. It was good to be able to do this again. Excellent even. It was doing wonders for his mind and body.
What wasn't doing wonders was the fact that he didn't know how he got here. Here as in Galahd. How the ever loving fuck had they wound up on Galahd?
Oh, part of the answer was simple: the fihrie. But that still begged the question as to how?
"Nyx!"
Nyx made the sound of a big grumpy cat.
"Nyx!"
With a huff he shuffled his paws under him and jumped down, landing on two feet in front of Libertus. His storm-brother held within his hands a large bowl of glass beads. Nyx's eyes lit up upon seeing them.
Libertus held out one of the beads. Nyx snatched it right out of his hand.
"What the fuck happened?"
"We're back on Galahd." The bead vanished in Nyx's mouth. It made a pleasing crunching sound when he bit on it.
He snatched the second one out of the air.
"No clue," he said, munching on the bead.
The third one nearly hit him in the face.
"You give me all the beads in the bowl and I'll go talk to Whisp."
"You drive a really hard bargain," Libertus grumbled.
Nyx grinned.

Can't really decide which LC it could have been. But I like to think it might have been a LC cousing, back when the family was still big enough to have them.
As they're half and half, it's the child's decision where on the human-fae spectrum they want to fall. Kinda Tolkien style with the half-elves.
Oh lol. That would be a fun discussion. XD
***
Nope. The human got a 'gift' from the fihrie though, for their absolute balls. :D
Human: Deal.
Fey: Very well. When you return home tonight, your mother will be in pristine health again. It will be like she never fell ill at all. Even the memory of her suffering will fade…
Human: Thank you so much. She means everything to me.
Fey: I know, I know. Let’s hope the price wasn’t too much for you after all… Only time will tell.
Human: So, when do we start?
Fey: …If I may ask you to elaborate?
Human: You said you wanted my firstborn.
Fey: Yes? And you agreed?
Human: Yeah, so, when do we start?
Fey:
Fey, blushing: Ah.

What would happen if Mors did manage to tell Regis about his second child -either Nyx or Crowe - before he died?
That depends on how the discussion is framed. Does Mors tell Regis while he's on his death bed? Or does he sit Regis down and have a serious discussion with him?
Either way, Regis would book it to Galahd as soon as he's able and start looking for his sibling.

Can you tell us about flow laying? Like what are some of the cards used and what do they mean, how it's decided there should do one and who should be invited to it?
Do I have more info about flow laying? Oh boy, do I have more info about flow laying. (I have hand drawn charts!)
(This will be all over the place and very long, but please, bear with me.)
First off, the name. Why is it called flow laying? Well, because the cards literally read the flow of power travelling through the world. That way they can give information about the past and present, while they can only make guesses about the future. (Though most of the time they're very good guesses.)
Each card represents a person, a being, a concept, or a seat of power. Like the Black Ships represent the concept of unsuspecting danger drawing closer.
To your last question: In the case of The Games We Play, Rhea - as the owner of the cards - made the decision to lay them. (The reason was the too long and too cold winter) There's a preliminary reading upon which Rhea decides which people need to be present. It's an art form to read the cards and interpret who represents who and who to invite.
There are three big categories the cards fall into:
Active cards, sleeping cards and dead cards.
Active cards are depicting those beings/people/concepts which are actively part of what you want to know. Sleeping cards depict those who don't/can't actively play a part, but are still a factor to be considered. And dead cards are remnants that are still important, but are quite literally dead.
The next biggest categories are the domains in which the cards take their places. There are two of them. The Greater Domains and the Lesser Domains. Which Domain (group of cards) falls into which is dependent on infulence and power, so there's a certain amount of fluidity. Though it is considered a Big Deal when a Domain changes place.
Under the Greater Domains fall The Hunt, The Astrals, The Night, The Day and The Wilds. The Lesser Domains contain The Fire, The Black and the Royal Domain. There's also a group of neutral cards that don't owe their allegiance to one Domain or another, so they make a group of their own.
How many cards there are exactly constantly changes and depends on what the person/people laying the cards want to know. (The Greater Domain of The Astrals is the most stable at 30 cards. The six Astrals and the 24 messengers.)
The Domains of The Hunt and The Wilds represent those belonging to the Wooden Throne, which represents Galahd. The card Wooden Throne itself is considered neutral, since it doesn't belong to one Domain or another.
The Astrals are pretty self explanatory, I think.
The Night and The Day represent the Sister Goddesses and their servants. (Etro, for example, it the Queen of The Night. She is a sleeping card, because she cannot actively intervene in anything going on. Eos is the Queen of The Day. She is a dead card for obvious reasons.)
The Black is the starscourge with Ardyn as the Herold. He switches from a sleeping card to an active one, and it makes people in the kow very nervous.
The Royal Domain represents the roayal houses of Lucis and Tenebrae. The King is the king of Lucis, the Queen the queen of Tenebrae. There's also cards called the Shield (Amicitia), and the General (currently Cor).
The Fire is an interesting one because no one is quite sure what that one is about. It slowly cropped up over the span of decades and is mostly made up of sleeping cards with the odd active one.
Neutral cards other than the Black Ships and the Wooden Throne would be the Gates (Death) and the Chained Heart (the Crystal/Light/healing).

I desperately want to know what Cor was thinking during the entire conversation with Nyx and the Whisp.
That's the thing. I wanted to write that convo from Cor's perspective, but I was hitting walls left right and centre. So I wrote it from Nyx's POV and that worked.
But I imagine Cor was a bit drunk on all the joy floating around Little Galahd. Galahkari are loud with their emotions. Lucians are on a quieter wave length. (I hope that makes sense XD)
When Whisp screamed at him, he was shocked. His first instinct was to go for his sword, and that there was such a 'human' tell made him angry. And he doesn't like Whisp. Not as much as Whisp hates him, but still. It came and brought a kind of chaos and messiness he doesn't like. But he deeply regrets what happened to Whisp. That he hurt it enough to nearly break it apart. It wasn't his intention.
It makes Cor angry at himself and he wonders, if that sleeping spell was affecting him after all, when he didn't notice he had hurt another being like that, however unintentional.
Him backing off from Whisp was his apology. Because like Pitioss will he do a proper one with all the bells and whistles. (Fae hate that kind of apology and will do nearly everything to avoid it. Making them do it is a kind of power play.)
So yeah, Cor will do his best to protect Nyx and Whisp while they're in The Rí's court. And he will not pester Whisp. (That doesn't mean Nyx is off the jook though)
