hi,

it's been a while. i have news i'd like to share. yesterday night, we euthanized my beloved kitty, gamzee marilyn harvey. as you may have surmised from my posts these last few years, she was very sick and she fought fiercely until she could no more. she had the fortune of passing away in her sleep, surrounded by us, her family, in the comfort of her home, with no complications.

she was a very difficult cat. she was my baby, my companion, my first and only cat, and i loved her every single day of her life, no matter how feral she got and how hard she bit and scratched, how despairingly taxing her 24/7 care became. i adore her, and i always will.

i'm telling you this because all commissions, every single bit of income i have made for the past 3+ years, went exclusively towards her and her treatment. i have told my friends, i have thanked her many doctors, but i have to let you guys know. without your support, spreading my posts, following and commissioning, i would not have been able to pay for all that she needed. it is without a doubt in part thanks to your support that what -under a lesser guardian than i -would have been around 8 years of being a menace, turned into 12 hard yet beautiful years she could spend in her home doing whatever she wanted in her life as a mean and wonderful kitty.

your support bought meds, taxi drives, supplies and vet appointments, and it all brought us to the natural, rather than untimely, point where she very simply could no longer go on. i miss her immensely and always will, but i know for a fact i did everything and beyond for her, and i gave her the best life she could have ever had, illnesses and all.

you demonstrably played a part on that. so i have to thank you very honestly.

i got a job now. i got my first real paycheck in years and all i had time to pay with it were her funerary expenses. before that, a good chunk of the costs related to caring for her came from you. i cannot stress it enough.

maybe we'll do fun doodle requests as a thank you sometime in the future. that would be fun. for now, i humbly request that you give your little creatures a snuggle or kiss from me. every single pet in the world with a good owner is the most beloved pet in the world, and i hope yours know that.

thank you again so much. she is at last in real, real peace, and you helped pave this road. thank you.

why doesn't this look Gross? i have no time to re-do it before the deadline, but, for future endeavors... is it because i haven't added shading/texture yet? i feel like the lineart alone Should be able to feel gross. is it because the skin doesn't look like skin? or the blisters don't look like blisters? i know a good horror artist would make anyone Feel those bursting fingernails, but these do nothing!! horror is hard!! any tips? i'd very much like to share with you all some hard work from earlier in the year: together with my man jorge, who was my scriptwriter for a standalone project and with whom we really hit it off creatively, we're working on a superhero comic to launch his concept of a more latine-oriented fantasy & action setting. the title he saw fit to make the first one, as the two of us learn to get to know this universe, is going to be the story of how the ''chirena'', princess fey, and matías pangichau, ''el puma'', meet for the first time at a superhero job. i'm never one for star-crossed lovers, but jorge's giving it a spin of a relationship that cannot be because of responsibilities and mutual respect, and fey and puma just really secured a place in my heart already, so i'm in for the long haul.

the oneshot will be just under 40 pages long and we hope to have it done by late 2024. i had the chance to go hard with the designing stage by the middle of the year before things got really wild, and while we're still missing a couple for me to jump into the art comfortably, i really wanted to share what i've done so far. working one shift at a time really ensures that quality is not sacrificed, and what feels like little at the star, sure looks like a whole fucking lot after a month or two. jorge's an angel to work with because he's very receptive to my takes, design- and story-wise, and very aware of his position as a cishet man. i think we're making something wonderful, and all i want is to make it fit back into my schedule. this fucking rocks already.

these are the designs for the whole cast and then some, we're just missing some background characters and the definitive backgrounds. it's been plenty of work but it sincerely hasn't felt that way. i adore what i do, i'm fortunate to have a writer as amazing as jorge, and i'm very happy to get to share my work freely.

sorry i keep disappearing, there's been a lot happening and i'm having trouble catching up and remembering to share what little i have stashed to keep this blog alive. which is a bummer, cause i love sharing design stuff! these here, as i'm sure you can tell, are the designs we worked together with Yami, whom this Got Dam site is not letting me tag.

anyway, these were for their siiiiiick malevolent commission we made earlier in the year! arthur was approved right away, which i was glad about, cause he may look a little too prim, but i can't help my mind's eye. similarly, I Do Not Control The Vibes Harlan's Voices Give Me, and i can only picture john (and thus the king) as either Petulant Bishie, or Bear. yami was more into the Blob John trope, and it worked out much better in the end. love me a jellyfishy king, too. i should do more weird guys.

OOOH, SICK COMMISSION OF A SICK (affectionate <33) WOMAN.... this here is the infuriatingly hot Annie, for my dearest friend @angryducktimemachine !! lately i've been feeling like my compositions have been looking rather flat and lacking in dynamism, so i'm trying to get that anime flair back. this one took a looot of tries, especially for the blade, and lots of moving things about, but we GOT THERE. i really love the result, and am honored that my friends would ask me to draw their fantastic ocs. here's a WONDERFUL set of sketch portraits commissioned by the endlessly kind @evieebun125 and @phoenixphire24 !!! as i'm sure you can guess, this is the party of their current game -yet more proof that every ttrpg group has the best party and everyone is correct. these stunning darlings are aster (@wildesfancyfrock), lore (@strawberry-skies-xx), myx (@ettarose) and phoenix's ro!! babygirl's my favorite. she came out so nicely. i'm also very happy with the rendering on lore's hair -i'm not Good with hair, but i found a reference that worked for me and i think it shows!!

when i was, unbelievably, commissioned by the one shot podcast network to make posters for the ''into the wood'' arc of skyjacks, i was given such a complete document to go off of, that there was barely any brain-bashing design work to be done. all i needed to do was this little lineup! and i adore making thumbnails, so i'm sharing the initial ones too. the jonnit & orimar side went with E instantly, while gable and travis needed pleeeenty more tries after these to get to the final composition. isn't it all just so nice to see?

it usually takes me longer to share commissions because of how my backlog works, but in this instance i bring you THIS beauty, fresh off the presses: @magnetichollowed's stunning, incomparable oc sunset!!!

you know, it's Always an absolute joy to work with people's ocs. and then there's the times when you're entrusted with just- Amazing designs and you lose your shit all throughout and it rules. this one gave me its fair share of trouble, but i'm especially happy with how it all came together in the end -considering that it's the only other horizontal composition i've made with these since jun, and it's just relieving to know that his style just does not get old.

it's been tough years, but i've done good work regardless. i noticed i've never shared the character design work i've done for commissions and other projects, and i figured, why not? i've always loved this part of the process, and i should remember that despite the hard times, i've gotten to do something i love for others.

these are from last year -the design process for @princeofhellebore's warlock sasha, whose commission piece you can see here. they weren't nearly as much of a headache thanks to my client's infallible insight, and i, as always, got very attached to their wonderful and enigmatic character as we moved along.

it's that time of the year again! by which i mean, i'm in between gigs yet again and it's tough because vet bills drain all my earnings. however, we didn't get bad news on our last visit, so to make the best of that, i'm opening commissions up for an indefinite amount of time, and i'm adding the pinup and fancy poster choices for you to pick from!

to make the nice, usual breakdown:

characters from any media are okay, and ocs are very much encouraged!

if character designing is needed, it usually ranges between an extra $10 to $30.

n/sfw is okay, but only for the non-fancy style, and i will pass on the order if it makes me uncomfortable.

mecha and furry are fine for both styles. complex mecha might add some extra cost.

waiting list applies, turnout times vary. if you have a deadline in mind, please say so at the start.

i'm fortunately at a place where every commission i make feels like my best work to date, but i think it rings especially true for this one. this very, very lovely thing was a gift for the hosts of the fun piece podcast (not affiliated with the subreddit), which has easily been my top show of the year.

this was an illustration that my most gracious client, mike funpiece, allowed to take its time and for us to go slowly but surely. this included a lot of character designing and layouts, as well as a lot of brainpower so i could fill up the space nicely and make it look cozy and believable, which are things i struggle with a lot. the idea was for the poster to look like a color spread from the manga, and while it isn't quite there, i still had every bit of a blast as i'd hoped i would, and am still so fuzzy inside with the reaction from the hosts. commissions are just great because you get to draw for people that really appreciate what you do.

if you're intrigued by any of the bits and bobs, i'll obviously recommend that you give the show a listen! as one piece fans we always want to hear someone experiencing it for the first time, and i'll guarantee you'll find the worst takes of all here <33
