hc that Klaus survived (got resurrected) the first apocalypse but because he wasn't used to dying and the way he died he took very long to wake up again (see how in reginalds tests he wakes up withibg smaller intervals) and by the time he was up and moving five was already gone and he spend the next however long in that wasteland and when five time traveled he didn't take klaus with him (because he didn't know) so there is just one timeline with total desolation where a lonely klaus is wandering surrounded by ghosts but unable to die
(oh he got wiped out when five timetraveled who knows)

It’s probably a long shot but what if that photo of a school field isn’t because Five is attending school but because somehow one of them became a teacher? Like imagine Diego as a gym teacher or Viktor as a music teacher (again) or perhaps Klaus somehow conned his way into being a counselor. Idk but it would be funny.

Robert Sheehan reveals where he thinks he’ll take Klaus for the final season of The Umbrella Academy.
"You can be damn sure that at the start of Season 4 — *if we get one, God bless — he'll be going back to those very destructive sorts of self-piteous mindsets," the actor told The Wrap. [*S4 has since been confirmed.]
"I think it'd be like, 'You know what, screw it. I did all this work for nothing,' and that narrative really reestablished itself in his head.
"So he'll have to, I suppose just find a way to love himself in absence of the power. That'll be the next challenge for Klaus, I think."
