Pain is putting some things in perspective for me on how my uhhhhhh perception there of is

Right now I am waiting for the painkiller to hit again after waking up too early bc taking anything other than a shallow breath is Owy Owy Owy My Incisions/ofc my entire stomach area feels deeply bruised and strained

This hurts less than the pain from the offending organ which I rated mmm a 4 or 5 or so variously my criteria being “could do literally nothing without having to work around it” (Emily how bad is like midtier pain? Oh you know. You can’t do anything except stumble back and forth between bed and a very hot shower I think). But the top of the scale is still an objectively less dangerous and obtrusive event/procedure this being “break tailbone on way to appointment, fall on it again more than once, get there and they go to remove ur IUD but it is crooked and partially embedded. they’re taking it out Anyway :) :) :)”

Once upon a time not so very long ago Sara presented me with a narrative situation in DND that was the equivalent of a nicely wrapped present with a gun inside that would go off if I opened it and she said there’s a gun in here and it’ll go off if you open it and I asked her the gun that goes off will it kill me if I open this present and she said yes if you open the present the gun is going to kill you and I said awesome. I’m going to open the present

🔮: Unfortunately, we do not possess a foolproof method. Coming up with names is largely a vibes-based process for us. Neat phonemes! Interesting mouthfeel! Pleasant variety! Lark was literally the first name I thought of for Lark, and it seemed good, so I kept it – by far the most painless character-naming I’ve ever undertaken.

Ummm what are some other name anecdotes. Laszlo Kozma was apparently the name of a real guy, a Hungarian electrical engineer, which we had no clue about until some confused Hungarian listeners left comments. That was just pure coincidence! We liked the sound. Statistically, I guess every so often you’re going to make up a name that already exists.

I love all the character’s names in Midst. Is there a process for how you come up with them?

🎷: I've been dying to answer this for ages, so thank you for asking! I was once driving through Minnesota, listening to the radio, and the station's DJ identified himself on-air as "Mock Weep", which was the most bonkers name I'd ever heard at the time. Turns out I'd just misunderstood his English accent and his name was actually "Mark Wheat," but the name I THOUGHT I heard went directly into my notebook and immediately got used for Midst.
