Here's an idea: Shut your damn mouth, block them yourself, and move on. You're old enough to handle your own experience on the internet, and if you feel you're incapable of blocking people yourself, then perhaps you don't need to be here.
Hello redacted fandom, this post is gonna be my normal posts but hii!
So I saw this person who was like a proshipper and is like a literal pedo because they ship caelum with people!! Which goes against Eriks boundaries!!! I just wanted to make this post to say
IF YOU SHIP CAELUM WITH ANYONE FUCKING BLOCK ME. IF YOU SHIP INCEST SHIPS BLOCK ME. IF YOU PROSHIP BLOCK ME.
Thats all.

Ive been thinking about starting a discord for the proship/profic redacted fandom goers for a while now, and these recent waves of harassment have really made me want to do it even more.
It would just be a place that we can discuss redacted’s content free from harassment or from being berated for having Thoughts™️ and Opinions™️, somewhere we are free to talk about thirsting after villains, our niche ships, and sharing fanfics and fanart and whatnot, and critiquing/analyzing le content.
You wouldn't personally have to have ships considered "problematic" (or controversial or whatever you wanna call em), ya'd just have to be proship/profic and know how to behave yourself.
I don't even know where i would start, but it'd be cool to know if anyone would be interested in joining if/when it happens!

Unfriendly reminder to you all that the battle you're raging has no grounds for existing. Not only is your idea of Caelum as a child not canon but the author of the fic you all lose sleep over has explicitly stated that Caelum is an adult in this fic anyways.
You all have made or enjoyed content of other characters whose ages were changed. Even if you prefer to view Caelum as a child, this is not different from that.
If you are not comfortable with the idea of a fic where Caelum's character does not fit into your viewpoint, simply do not read the fic and mind your own business.
Additionally, not amplifying the voices of people you do not like does much more in the long run than lashing out, screaming, and bringing more attention to them. Attacking those same people in private does not make you a good person either. If you truly believe Redacted would be proud of you for doing so, then he is a horrible excuse of a creator and you should question who you're giving your loyalty to.

the new video... hmm. like okay i'm a huge proponent of vengeance and violence and all that but this was just not it? i feel like 2 on 1 beating up a guy who can't fight back just lacks any kind of stakes at best and is just kind of weird feeling at worst- like, okay, so you bribed the government to do freelance torture just for the temporary satisfaction of hurting a guy who is about to be executed?
like sure quinn should have gotten his shit rocked but this just felt kind of flat and also kind of regressive for the characters if not straight up out of character
i agree with you entirely. Unfortunately i don't have much to say on this as i feel I've stated my disappointment thoroughly. Right now im at the :/ stage
However i will say that 1) this is really not helping the whole "government bad" thing that Erik tries so hard to write into his stories. He writes characters holding contempt for a government body that is rife with corruption and dripping with inaction, and then turns around and has those same characters take advantage of that corrupt government to beat the shit out a man who can't even fight back which gave us one of the least satisfying beat downs in the history of ever, and 2) Quinn's guest VA was amazing and he really brought him to life for me (and i am in love with Quinn now), if GBA has any characters like Quinn ya'll should send em my way if you are so generous enough to do so (no pressure though mwah mwah love you guys)
Thank you for the ask! <3

different anon! if you don’t mind answering, what were your assumptions? i thought he was straight at first lol but then figured he was pansexual but didn’t really have a reason for thinking either. but i have never seen a single podcast episode and now i get why i’ve seen fans refer to him as queer or gay if there’s all that from his podcast.
I should begin this with a disclaimer that nothing I am about to say is a complaint so for anyone who comes across this post, don't read it as such.
I can't explain my conclusions exactly because I'm not entirely sure why I've reached them. When I initially got invested in Redacted's content I had a strong feeling that most of his listeners were female or feminine. Perhaps it was his verbiage or the tendency for M4A audio content that tends towards feminine-presenting characters, but it gave me the impression that he was straight.
I don't remember when that changed, but I do remember one of the Gavin audios (which I don't remember the name of) gave me a very strong impression that Redacted intended for the listener to be male or masculine. Since around that time it's seemed to me like each audio has shifted to where the listeners are now masculine-presenting, which now makes me believe he may be gay or bi. I'm sure he has a mental picture of each character so it wouldn't be difficult to believe his intentions for the listener find their way into each script.
That isn't much of an answer but I tried to explain what I could.

I don’t get people being like “you all are only disappointed about how the Quinn storyline went because you were theorizing/had headcanons” or “Erik never hyped up Quinn” and it’s like people are being obtuse on purpose. With the former, theories and headcanons have been a part of fandom culture since before they were called fandoms. When Erik was still in the Discord, listeners used to be *rewarded* early on for discussions on theories with like a specific title or something back then. How does ‘oh it’s your fault for getting hype over this plot line enough to wonder what will happen?’ make any real sense?
And “Erik didn’t hype up Quinn?” Like come on. And this is coming from someone who did not even get to hear Bright Eyes’ storyline, but even without it like…constant talk of how dangerous this character is when he came up, Asher cancelling a dinner date over this character’s presence, Sam concerned about Darlin’ living alone because of Quinn, him bringing up how dangerous a blood bond is, all the murders off-screen, the multi-year build up and references to this character, the Shaw pack being apparently the most renowned and powerful pack in the area needing to call in for help from another pack to get him. He didn’t need to say ‘this character is a big deal!!1!’ explicitly to us when he narrative choices over the past two years have done so. And this is, again, without ever hearing the Bright Eye storyline (which made this even more disappointing because I never got to hear of a single thing *on-screen* that made this character so terrifying. It was all completely secondhand. Instead of ever being *shown* that a character is terrifying and a Big Bad. I was only ever *told* so).
I don’t even think everyone wanted Quinn to crash the weddings or the monarchical summit or for Sam & Darlin’ to go Batman on him (though of course some people did). Even without those potential plot lines, I feel like if Sam and Darlin’ had been active participants in *someway* in the actual plot to get Quinn into custody, if things referred to as big deals previously like the blood bond that was set up had ever come up again at all, and/or if literally *anything* about finally getting this character (who has had so many of our main characters walking on eggshells) had happened on-screen instead of in the background for minor and unnamed characters we do not know to handle then maybe there would be less disappointment. I didn’t need a massive spectacle. I just wanted to see the main characters being the ones driving the plot.
oh god this is so good, especially that last part about wanting to see the main characters being the ones driving the plot. I think, personally, perhaps one of the reasons that it was so disappointing is because none of the characters on screen really did too much to move the plot forward. Everything with Quinn being caught happened off screen. I mean, it's not the way i would have loved for it to happen, but if Sam and Darlin aided in getting Quinn captured and turned in i don't think i would have been quite so infuriated with the way this plot went.
Also yeah lol it was very funny to hear people say that he didn't actually hype up Quinn and whatnot because, exactly like you listed, he did it A Lot. I think perhaps it is people being obtuse on purpose, or just like... *waves vaguely*..... you know the way that this fandom is. Redacted fandom moment.
I don't have much more to add onto this unfortunately (i feel I've stated my thoughts on this whole debacle thoroughly), but i agree with you wholeheartedly. Thank you very much for the ask and your thoughts <3

More on the Quinn storyline, mostly for the ones who were saying that we were 'hyping him up'
Tumblr media
Meeting for the first time while darlin is looking for Quinn and finding out that Sam had a similar vendetta
Tumblr media
Darlin got into a fight while looking for Quinn and Sam, helping them out, passing along information he found out about him.
Tumblr media
Finding out Darlin has a blood bond with Quinn
Tumblr media
Two videos that didn't even have the listener in it, but it was still a meeting to discuss Quinn
Tumblr media
Other characters get involved in the Quinn situation. Not just darlin, not just Sam. The solaires. The shaws. The department. All of them.
Tumblr media
Darlin revealing their past with Quinn
Tumblr media
Darlin wants to go after Quinn after finding out he was in Ferris
If you believe that Quinn wasn't 'mentioned' enough to have played a bigger role in his aftermath, then I don't think we're listening to the same thing.
That or this fandom has very poor analytical skills.
Excluding the inversion videos, Quinn has been the catalyst for this storyline in more than half of the playlist, and that is without counting his last three audios.

I probably shouldn’t? Help that anon?? Also, sorry that your inbox is…just anons talking to each other now, but I’ll leave you be after this. Erik hasn’t explicitly mentioned being gay (not that he has to of course!). I think people are going off of podcast stuff where he’s given advice on coming out, mentioned a childhood crush that was a boy, made references to gay club culture things, when his friend (Odie) mentioned them being “straight white men” the friend corrected himself by only referring to himself that way, in all Erik’s “frat boy” suggestive/raunchy jokes on there they have only been about him & other men (probably for the best though to avoid cancellation lol), he has never mentioned or hinted at attraction to a woman in alllll the episodes I’ve watched (and my “for legal reasons: this a joke” about a stereotype one…he’s reallyyy into to RuPaul’s Drag Race lol).
So like he hasn’t said it outright (I don’t think??) so there’s a (very, very slim imo) chance he’s bi/pan, but based on all that above…I think that’s where the (general?) consensus that he is gay (not sure if it is general? Maybe general consensus for people involved in fandom but not for more casual listeners? I do know with irl friends that listen to him and the podcast that we all assume he is gay based on stuff he’s said on the podcast) comes from.
No worries, just know that I won't always answer this quickly.
That all makes sense. I see where the assumption comes from now.
