“You had a moment!” Lou squealed, clapping her hands together in excitement. “My favorite couple! Back. On. The. Scene.” You watched Lou and Kendall gush about future possibilities with you and Harrison before anything has even happened. You were in their apartment, a bottle of prosecco on the table and three empty glasses in front of you. It was nice to have time away from the boys, but it rarely ever happened unless shopping was involved.

“We had a short moment, that was it. I wouldn’t think too much into it.” You sighed, fixing your hair.

“What was it like? Did you get butterflies? Fanny flutters?” Kendall gushed, and you gagged playfully at her wording choice.

“It was sweet, unexpected.”

You were perched on a barstool, sipping your champagne slowly. You liked to sit and watch everyone slow dance to the music the DJ was playing through the speakers. It was so romantic and sweet. It made you feel warm and content. And took your mind off of the loneliness that came with not bring someone to these things. Of not having someone to bring.

I’ve done alright up ‘til now It’s the light of day that shows me how But when the night falls… Loneliness calls

You had finished your flute of champagne and were asking the bartender for another when a flushed Bucky came and sat next to you. It startled you. Hadn’t you just been watching him dance with some pretty girl over there… “Enjoying your dancing?” You asked, you were surprised he could dance so well. Sure, Steve had told you all the stories of how he used to be a ladies’ man and would go dancing every other night with a date, but Bucky was different now. Still charming, but more sombre than in Steve’s stories. Of course he would be, given what he had been through. “Yeah, I had a swell partner.” He replied, slightly out of breath. You laughed as you took another sip. Bucky was always so different at Tony’s parties. Much more alive and always willing to dance, like he had a boost of energy. It was quite adorable when you thought about it. Not that you thought about it. Much. You brushed a falling piece of hair behind your ear and sighed softly, looking out at the dancing couples. You wanted to dance. But not with just anybody. With him. With Bucky.

Can’t Help Falling In Love (Pt.2)

Summary: Series of moments where Bucky just can’t help getting drawn to her.

A/N : Im so happy you guys liked the first part!! These have been so much fun to write and well I managed to stay below the 500 word mark yet again! YAYYYYYYYYYY!! This part is 466 words. Nothing but fluffy fluff fluff! Part 4 of Love After You is still in progress so I thought id update this story in the mean time. Thanks as always for reading!

His first sip of coffee hits his tongue in a warm welcomed stream. It’s sweeter than usual, but after the weeks he’s had away he’ll take all the added unnecessary sugar.

It’s been a while since he’s stopped by the coffee shop. He’s trying to be as functional of an adult as possible and that means, much to his chagrin, keeping himself in shape and paperwork.

So much paperwork. Guess being a ghost for decades eventually catches up to you.

So, the little things in life, the ones he’s learned to enjoy, have taken a back seat.

But he’s here now. In this little coffee shop, enjoying this candy bar disguised as coffee and he can’t help it.

Can’t help the way his gaze wanders throughout the shop looking for something.

Well, someone.

It’s been weeks. Three weeks he’s been away on a mission, another two kept away by his adulting ways.

There’s a slight possibility she’s moved on. Perhaps found another coffee shop that refuses to sell whatever the hell he’s drinking in favor of serving actual, respectable coffee. He’s considered it before; maybe she did too.

But then, at the table beside him, one of the chairs begins to scrape the floor as it’s pulled back.

His heart stills, because how on earth could this be?

It’s like being struck with lightning, and well if you’re lucky enough to survive the first time, what are the odds of surviving a second one?

Guess he’ll find out because this time she’s not across the room. No, this time she’s right beside him.

She rummages through her bag as she settles in, and Bucky knows he should look away.

But he can’t help it.

She’s right there, and his heart is determined to let her hear how fast it’s beating.

He feels no force on earth could pull his gaze from her, but then her eyes flick to him, and a third lighting strike hits him.

Must be some sort of world record.

Now he really can’t look her way. He shouldn’t.

“Hi there,” she smiles, when he finds himself looking again despite the alarms he’s sure ring throughout the entire city.

God could he use a drink of water right now.

A few weeks ago, he had imagined the sound of her voice, but this is unlike anything he’s ever heard.

It radiates, and Bucky is sure he’s mixing up his senses, but he can see how bright it is, how soft it is, how warm and velvety it is. It’s so much more than he imagined.

She giggles at his silence, choosing to focus on the pad of paper and pen she’s pulled out of her bag.

And right there and then, he can’t help but long for the next time she says hi.

“Do you think he’ll take her home tonight?” Lou whispered in your ear, loud enough for you to hear. You raised an eyebrow at her, watching her nod in the direction of the bar and seeing Tom wrapping an arm seductively around a tall, brunette. You purse your lips before shrugging, taking a swig of the bottle in your hand.

“Does that ever bother you?” Kendall asked, her ears perking at the thought of people gossiping without her. Lou and Kendall were your two college friends that were welcomed with open arms into your childhood circle, they seemed to have had the puzzle pieces that were missing in your group. They both lived in the apartment above the bar, Potter’s, that you were currently in, so it was the perfect place to meet and hang-out.

“Not really.” You replied, leaning back on the chair and watching Tom whisper sweet nothings in the woman’s ear.

the one when it’s a sunday

Growing up you were always surrounded by family and friends, the fear of moving out of your parent’s house and starting a life on your own was permanent and it never faded away. That was until one of your best friends brought up the idea of buying an apartment together - both of you were single, primarily married to your jobs and enjoyed having company in the evenings. Evidently, it was the perfect idea.

Nearly a year had passed since Tom and you moved in together. It was the perfect way to keep everyone happy, living with Tom put your parents at ease knowing that you were safe and the fear of growing up never crept up on you anymore because you were living your dream life with your best friend around everyday. The only thing that was missing was that special person in your life, but when you had friends like the one you had, you had very little time to think about the lack of action you were getting.
