Ben Gelinas on Twitter: "I am so mad that the Dragon Age fan wiki does not have a note that we specifically named this town after Sarnia, Ontario... or at least I pitched the name and didn't tell Sheryl it was a real place and then it shipped."

I know fandom prevaling wisdom is that Cullen is a little vain, but I have a different take on it. I really love to see Cullen taking care of himself. When you're stuck in the depths of PTSD hell the last thing you want to do is look after you. Washing, brushing teeth, getting dressed, it's a huge nightmare and massive wall. You lose your sense of identity, which is compounded by being in a military order like the Templars. I like to think that him doing his hair, thinking about his outfits post Templar Order now he has the freedom to choose are such positive steps in recovery and him discovering who he is as an individual and a person. Let Cullen do his hair and look pretty. It was denied to him for so long.

If you like those cookbooks, I also highly and strongly recommend the Witcher cookbook. Even if you aren't a fan, the recipes it has are varied and inspiring. The Critical Role Cookbook is also good, so I recommend scooping it up when you can. The Dungeons and Dragons two cookbooks and the two World of Warcrafts are also good. Though I like WoW cause the layout is interesting to me.
I'm right there with you on loving to cook and getting inspired by them cookbooks around us. I'm glad these compilations can be helpful!
Finally cleaned this up, but if you find the tumblr posts cumbersome, here is a google spreadsheet of all the cannonical Drinks, Foods, and Ingredients of Thedas.
If you're looking for other resources, I have a masterlist of things I've worked on from other lists and maps, and other projects I'm working on.
Want to support this blog and just all of my chaos? You can check out my ko-fi.

In addition to this, something that rotates in my brain is that the DA team has always wanted 10 years in-between each game. DA2 when it was taken from a dlc to a full game fills that 10 year gap. There is 10 years from the end of DAO (9:31) to DAI (9:41).
So, it lives rent-free in my brain that from the end of DAI (9:42) they stick with the ten years and start DA4 in 9:52.
I like the round number. It pleases me. That said the fact they keep the events of every game (with DA2 being the exception it always is) in the span of a year.... Doesn't please me lol.
Things that have been making my brain feral (tm) lately:
Patrick and John Epler also established once again that Solas doesn’t have your arm, with Epler also noting that if it weren’t for technical limitations, they should have had the arm melt away in the cutscene. (screenshot below the cut)
Healing magic just speeds up the natural healing. It can’t raise the dead or regrow limbs, but if you’re fast enough, it can reattach severed limbs. (screenshot below the cut)
Patrick mentioned how they had to record pronunciation for new elven words for voice actors. (Not clear how recent that was done) (screenshot below the cut)
Merrill is noted to be 25 in dao. Very intelligent and wise. Archetype the wise druid. Meaning she is 35 in dai and 47 by da4.
We are at least 2 months away from hearing the full game announcement; release date, game play, marketing. 3 months at most.
BioWare recently (re?)activated their tumblr.

Oh, this is an interesting read on it. I took it to mean that since The Missing is supposed to be a direct lead into DA4, which like you pointed out is speculated to be 9:52 based on the short story, that The Missing took place in 9:52 - as it was a direct lead in. And so it was "close-ish" to real-world passage in that sense, given that Tevinter Nights takes place in 9:44-9:45.
So the passage between Tevinter Nights and The Missing is close-ish to the 10 years we've had since Trespasser, but is actually 7-8.
Tumblr media
Question: "I need to know... In the Missing, Strife has a Vallaslin now. What is the time difference between your story and The Missing, as originally he did not have a Vallaslin?" Patrick Weekes: "Close-ISH to real-world passage of time. Strife has been working with the Dalish for a few years (and later, in the comic, the Veil Jumpers), so he picked up the vallaslin along the way."
[source]
another momentous day in the Strife Dragonage fandom (prev) [mfw Strife lore drops / Strife is mentioned aaaa]. PW explains Strife got his vallaslin between TN and DA: The Missing.
the note on current timeline is also interesting. Three Trees to Midnight from TN seems to be set around 9:44 or 9:45. TN released in 2020. the third issue of DA: The Missing released 3 years later in 2023. that would take the time in the third issue of The Missing to about 9:47 or 9:48. add another year or so as it's now 2024 - 9:48 or 9:49. add in a lil bit more time until DA:D releases irl, and then account for the fact/caveat with the fact that it's only very approximate ("ish") and not a direct one-to-one (so it could be a bit less or a bit more, you know, like +/- 1-3 or.. whatever), and 👁️ we are getting reeaal close to the ~9:52 date given in The Eternal Flame. (which people speculate might be the year in which DA:D kicks off or thereabouts, along with speculating about the related ~8-ish year timeskip from the events of Trespasser to the events of DA:D, meaning ~10-ish years timeskip from the events of DA:I basegame to the events of DA:D). about 10 years irl between games, and to me this seems to suggest about ten years passing in-world too.
