The Amateur Content Creator

You know...after years of consuming Youtube, Twitch, Netflix and everything in between you don’t really understand how much goes into something that people put out there for enjoyment.

I think it was as of July or August of 2020 I decided to give Youtube and Youtube streaming a solid shot. Little did I know for an amateur like myself I would be in for a rude awakening. (I would like to point out I enjoyed every bit of it the journey)

Outside of the things I was doing with Youtube I had to manage my time wisely. During the day working a full time job and occasionally in the evening or weekend working part time somewhere else. If you are like myself once you dive into something new you surround yourself by it. I had to learn about setting up OBS, Youtube Channel, Youtube Studio, Thumb nails, SEO...you get the idea.

I actually became fascinated with the amount of things people had to manage and learn. Being a fresh channel I’m trying to get a feel for every aspect before paying someone else to do certain aspects for me. This lead me to now making a list of video ideas outside of my live streams, vector & photo editing software, editing sound and video...even just typing all this out in 1 sentence doesn’t feel like much at all until you do it.

I consume what I can to catch up with all these established people while trying to put my touch on things.

At the end of the day all of these things are hard with so much limited time but I’m REALLY enjoying it while also learning so much about myself. Respect to all you creators out there.

Last night was my first time trying to edit all the settings for a Discord community which ends up being much more in depth under the hood.
