He never thought this would be his life. He always read sweet love stories and didnāt think he would ever get to experience that great love himself. It always felt so unattainable to him, that he was destined for loneliness. Then TK, his soulmate, came to Texas. Now heās living that great love story. Theyāve overcome so much together, he truly believes they can handle anything, as long as they have each other.
ā³ paul: but what if i die? owen: impossible! tommy: ehā¦itās a little possible. judd: see, nothing to worry about. paul: she just said i could die.
thank you for tagging me @carlos-in-glasses @nancygillianmvp @sznofthesticks @bonheur-cafe @paperstorm @thisbuildinghasfeelings @im-overstimulated-and-im-sad @whatsintheboxmh @lemonlyman-dotcom <33 hereās a little bit of the last and final chapter of so good right now!
TK smiles at his reflection in the mirror as he buttons up his work shirt for the day. He scrapes a nail over a mark Carlos left just below his collarbone, letting out a breath at the sensation, then presses harder as he remembers the feeling of Carlosā lips all over his body.
God, he misses him. Itās been a grand total of two days, less than, since heās seen Carlos, but he misses him, misses the way he makes him feel, misses the soft way Carlos kisses him with everything heās got. He just misses being around him, really, but within the next thirty minutes, theyāll be together again.
TK canātĀ wait.
For now, he finishes buttoning up his shirt, somewhat disappointed that he had to cover his new markāwhich is a turnout, really; heās been grateful to be covering his scar for so long, but now Carlos has kissed over the skin there, he finds he doesnāt want to as muchāand grabs his tie from where itās hanging on the doorknob.
A few minutes later, heās padding out of his room, far earlier than he would normally on a Monday morning, even since Carlos, and heads downstairs.
is this the calm before the storm? oh, i wouldnāt know

Itās messy and itās hot, their mouths already open when they meet. He feels TKās tongue against his own, soft and warm as it moves in his mouth, behind TKās usual sweetness he tastes a faint musk that he recognizes as his own. It makes his head buzz a bit, to taste himself, his skin and his sweat and his come, on TKās tongue.
When he feels TK beginning to ruck his shirt up his back he pulls back just enough to get it over his head. TK flings it over the back of the couch, laughing brightly when it gets caught on one of the horse figurines on the console table behind the couch. āWhoops.ā
āOh, a bad boy indeed,ā Carlos chuckles. TKās already moved on to his pants, pushing them down to his knees.
āYou can punish me later, take these off.ā
He shifts so he can push the sweats the rest of the way off his legs, then sits back to pull TK back into his lap. He makes quick work of ridding TK of his sweater and burying his face in the freshly exposed skin between his neck and shoulder. He takes a breath, breathing in the scent of his husband. The tingly tea tree of the conditioner he always steals from Carlos mixing with the faint orange blossom and vanilla of the cologne he applied this morning. Itās comforting, the smell of safety and love and home. He takes a moment, TK lets him, patting the back of his head as he waits. After a few moments of savoring, he shifts back into gear. He has a husband to take apart and put back together.

Here are this week's prompts:

Judd becoming a father to Charlie/Judd becoming a father to Wyatt
Rules:
Every week there will be a different prompt, and everyone is encouraged to share a fic (or a few!) recommendation that meets the prompt and tag a few fic-reading friends. The game can be played all week, so no pressure to post right away. Please feel free to use the banner above, to make your own, or to not use one at all!
Finally, please use the tag āRewatch Read-Along Week 17ā and at the end of the week @911lonestarrewatch will post the link to the tag for the comprehensive list of fic recs!
Thanks to @guardian-angle22 for the banner!
Here are my recs:
Chapter 2 of The Center of the Maze by @carlos-in-glasses
Obviously I highly recommend the entire fic, but Chapter 2 is the part that deals specifically with what we're focused on this week. A heartbroken Carlos sobbing on the side of the road...is there a sadder image?? š
Seven Ways (Back to You) by @welcometololaland
An amazing series made up of 7 fics that deal with TK and Carlos finding their way back together in far more depth than the show could have ever given us!
Half agony, half hope and Coming and going by @goodways
The first is a wonderful Push coda filled with yearning and love and sweetness and making up and MAKING UP š, while the second is a truly delightful fic occurring in the aftermath of TK's coma where, as Shannon so aptly puts it in the summary "TK and Carlos boink so hard that TK passes out." I couldn't choose between the two, so I'm reccing both!
all my blood for the sweetness of his laugh by @alrightbuckaroo
Carlos reflecting on what he missed about TK while they were apart and how much he likes TK's laugh. Carlos' joy at making TK laugh is always one of my favorite things!
My Family, More or Less by @lightningboltreader
Carlos coming home to TK and telling him about his eventful night helping Katie get reunited with her parents...with a little help from his father-in-law more or less!
Learning, relearning by @fallout-mars
A really beautiful little fic a few weeks post-coma, with TK and Carlos so in love and so happy to be back together.
Tagging some fic readers who might have recs to share:
thanks for the tags @carlos-in-glasses @heartstringsduet @nancygillianmvp @terramous youāre all queued š§”
He slowly stood up from the flimsy plastic chair and left the room. He took the five flights of stairs to avoid the crowds of people leaving the meeting, when in actuality there were only about six of them. He couldn't face them, even if they were strangers. He walked out to his car and slumped into the driverās seat and let out a guttural sob.
Everywhere he went, he saw his dad. He saw him at the grocery store. He saw him at the dinner table when he visited his mother. He saw him on the street. He saw him at the farmerās market. He even saw his blood in the entryway of their house, even though that had to be impossible right? They replaced the floorboards. He was losing it, he thought to himself as the burning tears ran down his cheeks.
He looked down at his hands, which were turning stark white from gripping the steering wheel with immense force, stopping at the reflection of light on his ring. TK. Thatās why heās doing this, and heās all he wants right now. He should have let him come. He hated being alone right now.
He started the car and made the drive home that felt agonizingly long.

thank you @carlos-in-glasses for kicking off wip wednesday while it's still wednesday in my part of the world
here is yet more nancy backstory wip
For as long as she could remember, eighteen-year-old Nancy Gillian had been telling anyone who would listen that she was going to be a doctor. Both her parents were doctors, and sheād never considered anything else. All she had ever wanted to do with her life was to help people, so she studied hard and secured an early offer to the pre-med program at UT. Her future was all planned out, but those plans went out the window the day she met the woman who would later become her first captain and mentor, paramedic Michelle Blake.Ā
Out of Context/Think this is the last line I wrote Tuesday (?)
My brain has been mush lately so I don't remember which line I wrote last. Might've been this one which I wrote on three hours of sleep and energy drink. It's supposed to go somewhere... I just can't figure out where.
His grip is weak, or maybe heās still to afraid to hold on too tight, less ready to hold on and more willing to let it slip through his fingers. Like maybe it wonāt hurt as much to let his fall through his fingers than it would be to hold on and let it break in his hands.
Open tag! And tags and things under the cut š
Thank you for tagging me @lemonlyman-dotcom @ladytessa74 @sznofthesticks
thanks for the tease tuesday/last line tags @lemonlyman-dotcom @sznofthesticks @ladytessa74 @fallout-mars
sorry the last line I worked on is a sad one
āI couldnāt saveāI tried so hard, but I couldnāt save her,ā Nancy cries out between sobs. āI did everything I could, and it wasnāt enough; I tried so hard. I should have been able to save her.ā
