Poll: Which comic should I start working on first?

Okay so I've taken some time to get a bit organized and remember where I left things off. For the story to progress, I need to complete Chapter Five and also the first part of a new side comic called Bluescreen. It doesn't matter which one gets completed first but both need to get done before Chapter Six can start. So as a thank you for everyone's immense patience, if you'd like to vote on which one should get done first, here's your chance :) A little info about your options: Finish Chapter Five - Last we left off, our two glitchy brothers were about to try finding a Papyrus within Aftertale, per Patch's suggestion. So it was a bit of a cliffhanger. The rest of Chapter Five continues to explores a bit more of their relationship together. Release Bluescreen Part 1 - It's been a while since we've heard about US sans, specifically the one stuck in Error's Anti-Void. This side comic explores a bit more about his and Fatal's time together during Chapter Two. Most importantly, it's told from US sans' perspective. Which might change yours as well. Boy howdy it's been a minute, hasn't it? I'm working on catching up with messages and so far I've seen quite a few concerned ones so I'd like to first say I'm sorry for worrying people, I'm okay! Just busy and trying my best to balance work stuff, life stuff, and project stuff. I'm trying to succinctly organize how I've been feeling during this hiatus but it's kinda tricky to come up with the words. My life has been pretty full lately and it's wonderful, but it's left me with less time to pursue personal art and story projects. But I want ya'll to know that the comic is NOT over, and that I still have plans to get Vol 2 of the graphic novel printed. I appreciate people's patience and kindness, and ya'lls continued excitement about Fatal_Error and his story. There's been a lot of really heartwarming, sweet messages in the comments of the new Underverse episode and it's an indescribable, but beautiful feeling. It definitely fills me with determination. Thank you for that. Definitely please go support Jakei however you can, even if its just watching the new episode. She did INCREDIBLE. I want to finish telling this story. And I'm going to. And I'm jazzed about it. I'm going to refresh where I left off and hopefully we'll get things moving forward soon. So please stay tuned ^_^

Happy 6th Birthday, Fatal_Error!

Fortunately for him, I've had my hands full with other blog-related projects and tasks, so he gets to enjoy a quiet birthday this year. I hope everyone has been doing well! It's still been pretty quiet on the blog, which isn't awesome, but I've been working on some updates that should hopefully be ready to go out soon, which is awesome! As always I really appreciate everyone's patience with me and I'm just so jazzed to show ya'll what's coming up next. So for Fatal's 6th birthday, I thought it might be interesting to some to share 6 things that have been going on behind the scenes: 1) I FINALLY got a new job! In past posts I've mentioned having to take breaks/step away from the blog quite often in pursuit of job hunting and just general adulting. For those who aren't aware (or maybe are new here - if so, howdy!) I'm not a fulltime comic artist, and I don't rely on this blog or comic as any kind of primary source of income. So I've had to put a lot of energy and time into working on portfolio pieces that aren't just Fatal_Error (although he's in my portfolio, gotta represent!), putting in job applications, going to interviews (if lucky enough to get one), all of which takes a pretty tremendous mental strain and a lot of focus. And I've been at it for...like more than 2 years, lol. But I've finally gotten a new job, I start Monday, and I'm stoked! I'm going to have a lot more freetime to dedicate back into the comic and I couldn't be happier, because things in my opinion are about to get good. 2) The second volume of the graphic novel is almost ready for preorder! At this point I'm wrapping up the bonus comic (that those who get the second volume will see first, and will be posted online for free soon after), finishing up resizing some stuff, and just finalising the bonus preorder item and some items I want to release at the same time (like how I did with the stickers and poster last time). I'm aiming to open preorders in like, mid April. 3) In needing to plan ahead for future volumes, I have definitively figured out that there will be NINE chapters of the story in total, meaning that as soon as Chapter Five is done it's all downhill from there! We're almost at the finish line for the story!! 4) For those interested, I've been working on some Etsy shop updates with FE related items, because I haven't really added anything new in a while. Ideally it'd be nice to have them ready around the time that volume two is available but we'll see! 5) The Bluescreen Event is almost here! I've mentioned this before but Bluescreen is a side comic that I've always wanted to release as quick daily or every-other-day updates for as long as the side comic goes on for. This unfortunately requires me to have all the updates ready to go, otherwise I risk running out of updates before I can catch up. But I'm excited that it's almost ready! It's one of my favorite side comics and I think ya'll will enjoy it too. More on that later! 6) This summer (Summer 2022) I want to finally wrap up what had been started for Fatal's 5th birthday. So stay tuned ;) And that's all for now! I'm gonna keep working so I'll be able to update the story as soon as possible. Have a great day, folks!

Happy New Year + The Comic Continues!

Happy New Year folks! I hope everyone had a really nice and safe holiday, and really relaxing rest of their year last year. Here’s hoping 2022 brings us lots of wonderful surprises and good things! As mentioned a few months back, I took an official break from the blog/comic for a few months, and I’m really jazzed to say that I’m ready to jump back into things and keep the story going!!! The next comic(s) to update will be FE Chapter Five Part 3, and the side comic Patch Notes. I’d recommend rereading those as a refresher, but like always when I’m about to update with the new part I’ll reblog the previous part before it. In addition I’ve been working on a FE Previews part 2 video, but its not quite done yet and I don’t want to keep ya’ll waiting any longer than I need to. I sincerely appreciate you all and thank you all so so so much for being so patient and giving me some space to take a break. I want to hit the ground running and make a lot of progress this year, because in my opinion things are about to get real interesting ^_^ Stay tuned for an update or two soon! <3 Xedra

Hey folks! I hope everyone is doing really well! My break is coming to an end and I’m really excited to get back into updating the comic come January (and I’m looking forward to starting things off with a bang ^_^). With that being said, it’s been a while since I’ve been open for commissions and I’m feeling good about easing back into things so if you’ve been wanting a commission by me, feel free to contact me about it!  I hope everyone stays safe (and warm, if its getting cold for you too!), take care!

Something I’ve always wanted to do is to offer commissions, and I’m glad I finally got around to making it official ^_^ I don’t think I’ll set a certain number of open slots or anything, but eventually I’ll add a little ‘Commissions are Open/Closed’ note to the blog’s banner in case I need to close them. Good morning reblog ^_^

FATAL_ERROR COMIC AND CONTENT WILL RETURN JANUARY 2022!

TL;DR at the end~ Hey folks! I’m so sorry I’ve been absent from the blog and from the discord for such a long time. I mentioned that I was taking a break back in…oh geez, May? And that break has gone on for much longer than I expected XD Long story short, I am very okay! This has just been an exceptionally busy year, and I’ve had to rearrange my priorities a bit to navigate it all.

To be absolutely honest, I’ve just been burnt out. Not from just the comic, but from a lot of things outside the blog. And if you’ve ever been burnt out, then you know that it kinda doesn’t matter how passionate or excited you are to work on your projects - you just keep hitting a wall that doesn’t really let you progress. Unfortunately I hit that wall, haha. So I’ve been taking the time to recover from it. Legitimately, this blog post took several weeks longer than I wanted it to, just because I was trying to gather enough will to draw a cute little drawing to go along with it. Eventually I figured that it needed to go up without it.

It sucks to have to admit that I needed to step away from the comic, the blog, and the discord. It’s hard to admit to myself that I was having a hard time balancing everything and that despite being excited about where the comic was headed, I just physically and mentally had to take a break. It feels really bad to have a lot of fun ideas about what I want next for the story, for all the side comics and the graphic novel and just not be able to act on them because something within me is just tired and needs a minute before continuing. It sucks to disappoint everyone who’s come to love this story and is also just as excited to see what happens next.

I think deep down I’ve always been scared that I’d give up on the Fatal_Error comic, which is why I was hesitant to step away from it to take care of other things that had to be taken care of. But I think I know now that completing this story is so important to me that I could never give up on it. But I do know that I need to give myself time to get some other things in my life in order, so that I can get through the block and come back to the comic ready to keep moving forward. So I hope you’ll be patient with me and rejoin me when the comic starts back up in January 2022. I don’t want to bore ya’ll with details, but probably the biggest thing I’ve got going on outside of this blog is trying to advance my career. I work in game development (QA Tester, been that way for a few years) and I’m more than ready to move up in the development pipeline. So I’ve been dedicating a lot lot lot of my time trying to work on those skills and apply for jobs. It’s very time consuming, haha. And mentally taxing. So I’ve been using this time (and I’ll be using the rest of the year) to work on some indie projects, beef up my portfolio, and hopefully get hired for a better job than I have now. I can’t express how much that’s gonna relieve a lot of stress for me, and less stress = more energy to spend on the Fatal_Error comic.

I do still plan to stream working on these projects, it’s (probably) not gonna involve Fatal haha but there is a lot of art involved and me bumbling around trying to program which should be entertaining to some extent, so if that’s something you’re interested in I’ll mention whenever I’m planning on streaming and you’re more than welcome to pop in and see what all the fuss is about.

As for discord, I’m never really far ^_^ I keep discord open all the time, and even if I don’t post or do much in the discord, I’m always nearby to check in and available to talk if ya’ll need me. I’ll try to be more involved though <3

I think that’s the major stuff? I really am looking forward to hopping back into Fatal’s story once things calm down on my end. It’s been a really wonderful source of comfort and expression for me and I love where the story is going, and I love getting to share it with ya’ll. I’m sorry for making you all wait so long for what comes next, but as always, I sincerely hope that once we get there, it’ll be worth the wait. Thank you for your patience, your kindness, and your enthusiasm. I’ll be around (and catching up on the inbox, messages, etc haha), but in terms of the comic, I’ll see ya’ll in January 2022 <3

How much do you plan for volume two to cost? Love your work and can't wait to see what's in store for the future!

The same as volume one, which is $35 ^_^ I’m also considering the logistics of maybe doing like a discount if someone wants to buy both at the same time, but that’ll depend on whether or not I have the first volume in stock at the same time preorders are open XD

HAPPY 5TH COMIC/BLOG ANNIVERSARY + What I have planned for 2021 + What’s been going on + Tumblr literally just deleted the anniversary post I wrote out before I could post it and now I’m sad

Ya’ll I wrote out a really sweet and sentimental post about how the past few months have been rough and busy and I haven’t had much time to work on comic things because Adulting and how the timing was really bad because it coincided with a lot of Big Events for the blog (Fatal’s 5th birthday and the 5th blog anniversary) and that things were going to go back to a more normal schedule soon because I’m moving in 2 weeks and once I’m settled in I can go back to art stuff and that I was really thankful for everyone here and really excited about what’s to come and that I was sorry that this anniversary wasn’t really as special as I wanted it to be but at least I could share a little of what I have planned for the rest of the year and TUMBLR ATE THE POST BEFORE I COULD POST IT BECAUSE OF COURSE IT WOULD and I just can’t bring myself to retype all of that out, so here is the Condensed Soup version.

Quick Update!

Hey folks! It’s been a hot second since I’ve posted anything, so first I want to say that I’m very sorry to keep ya’ll waiting for new FE updates! The comic is still going to continue <3 It doesn’t help that Chapter Five is in a bit of a cliffhanger-y spot right now haha, so I’m extra sorry about that. Basically the year kicked off with a lot of non-comic related things needing my attention, so I had to set the comic aside to work on taking care of those things. Which sucks because I always want to be making progress on Fatal’s story, but it is what it is. So I thank you for your patience and kindness as I meander my way back into updating again! I really appreciate having some space to take care of stuff that’s going on outside of the blog ^_^ So what’s going on in the near future? Well Fatal’s 5th birthday is coming up on March 13th so I’m working on that to try and get the celebration as close to his actual b-day as possible. It’s going to be an adorably small affair and I want to make sure I get the details right! I’m also working on a little bit of a timeline/preview of sorts, since believe it or not I’d like to conclude the main story of the comic within the next year or so. I don’t know if that’ll actually happen LOL but I can try. Otherwise we’ll all be here for another 5 years and that doesn’t sound like a good time for any of us, haha. I swear on Mettaton’s perfect shiny legs that the 12 hour stream is still going to happen, and that normal-length streams will start back up once I have some interesting stuff to stream XD And finally, if you’d like to join the Fatal_Error discord server and chill with a bunch of lovely people, we’d love to have you!
