Kaishinbigbang 2024 Theme Announcement is here!

Hey everyone! The time to get your votes in has come and gone! It’s time to announce the results!

The theme is: AU or UA!

Out of 125 responses, 17.6% of you voted for AU/UA and 36% of you voted for an open AU/UA theme. 

For those of you who might not know what AU or UA are or the difference between them:

AU stands for alternate universe. These fanworks which change at least one element of the source’s canon according to Fanlore. Think coffee shop, soulmate, bodyguard, etc etc.

UA stands for universe alteration. Most people liken this to canon divergence! Think things like fix-its, characters being aged up or down, different first meetings, etc etc.

As always, the theme is optional, so you can choose to run with it or totally discard it! Whatever you decide, it’ll definitely be interesting!

Next up? Artist sign-ups open APRIL 18! More information will follow soon, so please keep your eyes peeled!

Welcome to Kaishinbigbang 2024!

Hey guys! My name is Mac and i’m going to be your host for this adventure!

We are officially just a week out from the start of theme voting (!!!), so here’s some important information regarding this event!

So, what is a bang?

A bang is a type of fan challenge in which writers and artists work together to produce new collaborative content for the fandom.

In a reverse bang, the artist signs up first and creates a sketch, and the writer claims the person they want to write for based on the sketch and summary the artists provide.

This year we will have an optional theme which you will be able to vote on!

Who can join?

The event is open to artists and writers of all abilities in any stage of their fandom journey –  a fun opportunity for Kaishin shippers to come together and celebrate the relationship between Kudou Shinichi and Kuroba Kaito in all its variations.

What kinds of fanworks are accepted?

We are specifically accepting the following:

fanfiction

traditional and digital art

graphic sets

moodboards

icon sets

cosplay photosets

fanvids

Hello everyone! My name is Mac and I’m your host!

I’m here to announce the start of the second-annual DCMKKSE OPC!

What is a One-prompt Challenge? A One-prompt Challenge (OPC) is where one prompt is given and participants create a work based on their interpretation of the prompt. 

What are the work requirements? As mentioned above there are no requirements for creation. Any work is welcome, from drabbles to longfic, baking, cosplay, sketches and comics! Participants must sign up (new this year), join the discord, and post during posting week.

What is the schedule? January 28-February 3: prompt sourcing from the server February 4-10: prompt voting by the public February 11: prompt reveal February 11-17: sign-ups March 24-30: posting week

All deadlines will be 21:59 CST.

Welcome to the Fourth Round of DCMKKaishinEvent’s Kaishin Secret Santa!

Hello everyone, my name is Mac! I’m here to announce @dcmkkaishinevents’s next upcoming event: Kaishin Secret Santa 2023!

What is a secret santa? It’s a fanworks exhange based on prompts. Participants will sign up and fill out their interests and up to three prompts they would like to receive, as well as some information on what they are offering to create. Participants will then be matched to the best of my ability and begin working on their fanwork in secret.

What are the minimum requirements for the exchange? Writers || 1,500 words Artists || 1 finished piece (black and white, color, comic are okay) Graphics || a set of 4 images If you want to offer something else, please talk to the mod first! Participants will also need to have a Discord as that’s where the majority of communication will occur.

What is the schedule? October 08 || sign-ups open October 21 || sign-ups close October 29 || matches made and DMs sent out November 18 || deadline - check-in December 20 || deadline - all works posted on this day (no earlier, no later)

All deadlines will be 21:00 (9pm) CST/CDT.
