Bucky and Sam both have accents that come out when other people with the same accent are around them. Neither of them understand the other once they get going

Sam used to sing "Down in New Orleans" to the boys when they were little, as if it was a lullaby. He didn't know it was from a Disney movie

They both have a huge sweet tooth and they both deny it

They both like baseball, but they never support the same team. They do have a "so long as the Dodgers lose" rule though

Bucky fell first but Sam says "I love you" first

Even a non-refractory period can't help when Bucky can get off the moment Sam touches him. Sam just makes him over sensitive

Their water bill is atrocious because of showers. Sam blames Bucky. Bucky blames Sam. But it takes two

Bucky gets overwhelmed when Sam's laid out in front of him. He has to take a few seconds to breathe, close his eyes even. Sam enjoys this immensely

Sam likes to hold hands when they can. He'll bend his arm all sorts of ways to make it happen

They laugh a lot when they're together ❤️

Sam couldn’t hold back an amused chuckle. “Hey listen, at the end of the day, making sure you’re fed is cheaper than hiring a party magician.” He teased, enjoying the banter that had been part of their routine communication for a while now. “Just kidding, man, the whole neighborhood hasn’t stopped talking about you since the last time you were around; they’ve been asking about how you’re doing more than anyone’s asked how much fish I caught. You get it, right? I run ‘Wilson Family Seafood’? You mean a lot to this community, Buck.” He gave him a pat on the arm. “And to me too,” he added after setting the water jugs down inside the door.

“Thanks for looking out and asking. It’s still pretty early so you don’t have an entourage swarming you for autographs right now.” He grinned. “Not as exciting as peeling potatoes but you wanna go check out the newly painted interior of the boat? Took me a while but it looks way better.”

✮ – Bucky looked over his shoulder and smiled, furrowing his brows. "Bothering me?" He echoed, lifting with ease a container full of groceries and things needed for their upcoming feast for Thanksgiving. Sam had been kind enough to invite Bucky over to spend it with him and his family, and because Bucky had already been part of a huge gathering with the Wilsons when they worked on their boat and actually enjoyed being there, he figured it wouldn't be a bad idea to come back.

Especially since his relationship with Sam has been better too. It was almost as if they had managed to stay in sync despite not working together as much as of late.

"Na, I got it. Shoulder's fine. You're being so attentive lately, lucky me", he teased with a grin. "Where do you want me to put this?" He asked and eyed the box he was holding "The box, I mean."

Sam had to purse his lips to suppress a smirk, maybe even a chuckle. The mental imagery of Bucky writing something like *that* on *official military documents* greatly entertained him. If it wasn’t Steve coming up with the most extreme answers, it was Bucky. And, well, now is a good time to reflect on the fact that it was good to have him to count on as a partner on the battlefield. Not so much for any amount of paperwork though.

“The fact that I’m not going to do your job for you aside, you know all of this..” he waved a hand in the air to gesture at the pile on the desk where Bucky sat, “is part of your parole. You want to walk around out here, you gotta make sure the people in charge can trust you to not be a liability. And that means records. It’s in your parole stipulations, man.”

He leaned back in his own chair, keeping an eye on Bucky as the man stretched. “Alcohol. The good stuff. If you need a break, go get some fresh air. But tell your one brain cell you have work to do after.”

"You know what I miss about the Commandos? No paperwork... Point, shoot, go home and drink to a completed mission. That was it..." He glared at the pile of mission debrief materials in front of them. "This is a punishment, this is absolutely a punishment... Who did we piss off this time?" ((therxdeemxr))

Sam looked over at Bucky from his own chair and found himself much in the same boat. However, he’s better prepared for all this records keeping.

“Sorry to burst your bubble, Buck, but even with the Howling Commandos *someone* had to do the paperwork. It was probably Steve, especially if his *sergeant* didn’t.” He teased with a broad grin and although the Army and Air Forced weren’t exactly the same entity, he can make a few educated connections since he’s been pushing papers since he made second lieutenant.

“What about you put your nose down and get what you need done, done, and I’ll get you a cold drink. Maybe even ten if you stop bullshitting on those forms.”

He listened to her and nodded in agreement, but there was no hint of guilt or shame anywhere in his body or expression. “Technically, it’s in the mission report and I know you pick that apart with a fine tooth comb when it comes time for upgrades.” He did seem remorseful for making her worry though. Standing up, he wrapped his arms around her, giving her a well meaning embrace.

“You and I both know I’m used to a bit of pain every now and then; this is nothing. And if any new leads about him come in, I’m ready and roaring to go. Right now, even. We’ll find him, Eira.” He pulled back enough to give her an encouraging look.

"Were you going to tell me about this?" She sighs heavily, holding up part of his suit. One of her fingers was poking through a bullet hole in the material. "Or were you going to wait until I saw the wound?"

“I was.” His voice was surprisingly calm especially compared to the way he hurried to yank his shirt back down his torso, where anyone looking in his direction could have seen the rather obvious contrast of the white bandage on his side against his skin that’s now covered by his shirt and probably the more obvious first-aid kit sitting in front of him.

“It’s no big deal, Eira. It’s just a graze and I’ve had much worse. You know I prefer the suit being lightweight over it being bulletproof.”
