I didn't say that yet but I'm currently on a deadline & have to finish my bachelor thesis until the end of april, so it might be very quiet here (& probably beyond that, because I'm literally trying to sort out my whole life & future rn 😅). until then you can find me over on @korgosse, since this is a comfort blog rn with a slower dash. thank you all for being patient with me ❤️

"I hope you know I'm not saying that to be sweet. I mean it."
Their own words surprise Niame. After all there were only a few people who had earned their loyalty and they'd recognized the danger in trusting the vampire early on. But things have changed, they both have changed and perhaps it's time to stop denying the obvious. Are you happy now. Legolas?, they ask silently. Of course their best friend had predicted this outcome from the very beginning. That these feelings would creep up on them, until it was too late. And here they stood, the depth of their affection lying bare infront of Astarion.
Niame takes a deep breath, trying to ignore the loud, rapid beating of their heart. "This is not your choice to make, Star", they say with determination in their voice, "And you're not luring me to my demise, this is my own, free decision, I can assure you that."
I can't lose you. Something stirs in them, a warmth they had almost forgotten. At least they're not making a fool of themself alone then. "We are a team, this doesn't have to be a burden you carry on your own."
Their hand reaches out, barely touching his lover's. It's only an invitation for Astarion to accept or ignore, whatever he prefers. "For what it's worth - I can't lose you either, alright? I would never forgive myself, if I let you go in there and stand idly by." Niame's voice breaks at the mere thought.
@fenixburned sent : whatever happens, i'm right here beside you. (from niame 🥺)
"That's....quite sweet of you." & HE DOESN'T KNOW WHERE TO PUT IT ; his ribcage has been empty of life for so long , a hollow blackened organ sitting within but not able to make a sound. IT HAS BEEN DEVOID OF WARMTH , affection. The flames flicker and he wishes he could lose himself in them and fall into a calming silence. Unfortunately , he hasn't forgotten the sound of that voice in the under dark and even now he has no confirmation as to whether or not it had belonged to his old master. HE SUPPOSES IT MATTERS LITTLE NOW , they'd soon be seeing him.
Niame's words have led to him having to face a vulnerability that he's been avoiding since the nautaloid. HOW HE HAD ATTEMPTED TO KEEP THE OTHER AT ARMS LENGTH - whilst trying to get close enough with deception so that he might earn protection. A lie to himself - for to not fall , well , it had been a challenge and one he had not managed to achieve. He cares , simply put. That's dangerous. THEY'RE SOMEONE TO LOSE & Cazador will relish in that.
"Yet , i'm not so certain i want you to be there." He turns his head quickly. "Don't misunderstand me. These past few weeks... your company..." He pauses , trying to explain - to make them understand that he is not dismissing the things they have been through and the challenges they have faced.
"Your life would be at risk - i have led many to their deaths but to do so to you.." Finally , the pale elf falls silent. His eyes find the flames but there is no calm , no peace.
"Oh hells , i can't lose you. i dread the thought. If i die , so be it but please do not make me responsible for your end."

The pain was still numbing his mind, but Dominik recognized the voice and reached out instinctively to the hand, craving Nikolai's familiar touch. All he remembered was moving to step infront of his friend, memories of another similar moment washing over him, just before the bullet had entered his arm.
He moaned, when the healers did their work on the wound and then finally opens his eyes, taking in the sight of the tsar on the chair next to him. "Are you unharmed?" Of course that's the first concern, always had and always will be. "I should really stop doing that, huh?" His weak attempt of a smile failed miserably, but Dominik still hoped to defuse some of the tension.
@fenixburned gets a starter from nikolai for dominik
HE'S BLOODIED - bruised , but he'll survive. Nikolai was a little more durable these days ; no , it wasn't himself that he was worried about. Dominik had taken a bullet to the shoulder - they had healers , he knows that but it's reminiscent of another time and the creature inside him screams. IT'S DESPERATE FOR VENGEANCE , for blood. It takes everything the Tsar has to push it back down , to walk to Dominik's bedside and force himself into the chair that sits beside it.
"Domek." A SOFT WHISPER , a hand reaching out to brush hair from his eyes as the healers remove the bullet. "I'm here , i have you. I promise."
