It's an early 00's pop punk kinda day today.

This album is over 20 years old now, just typing that out is making my hair turn grey. I'm 37 but this kind of music makes me happy, I still know all the words and I don't think I'll ever change.

These guys never got the credit they deserved in my humble opinion. Brave enough to change their sounds with every album, not afraid to try something new.

One of the few bands of that era not to have recently reformed, I was really surprised to not see them on the various line ups for When We Were Young.

They need a come back, I'd love another chance to see them live. One of my favourite ever gig experiences was in the pit for these guys, bonding with random strangers, all screaming along.

Speaking of bands needing to return, where on earth are Sugarcult?!

A Britpop classic that often gets forgotten about. Insomnia is the stand out track for me.

I really don't know how I feel about this...

I'm not sure what upsets me most, the fact we have a new Eric Draven or the fact he doesn't have long hair!

I love the original so much and it's not like there hasn't already been several sequels and a television show.

Yet I find it hard to accept anyone else other than Brandon as Eric, he was so iconic and the history of that film is so tragic.

Time will tell...

The remake is due to be released on June 7th 2024.

I actually shed a tear.

I'll write something more when I have the chance. His work defined my childhood and opened my eyes to a new world of imagination.

Video Games x Sports Jerseys

Metal Gear Solid is one of THE greatest games of all time, so I decided (don't ask why) to create a sports jersey based on the original PlayStation classic.

So, I give to you... Fox Hound F.C.

I based the colour scheme around the original cover art, nothing too fancy, but a basic concept that I enjoyed creating. Needs a little more flair but it's a work in progress.

I hope Hideo Kojima would approve.

Did anyone else ever watch Garth Marenghi's Dark Place on Channel 4, back in 2004?

I absolutely loved it and I've just found out that creator Matthew Holness has brought back his fictional author for a series of books.

I managed to pick up Incarcerat from the local library, if it's half as daft as the original show then i'm in for a treat.

How Do You Live? By Genzaburo Yoshino

I've just finished The Children of Hurin by J.R.R. Tolkien and I'd highly recommend it for any Lord of the Rings fans. It's absolutely amazing, almost like a Shakespearean tragedy.

Next up on the reading list is How Do You Live by Genzaburo Yoshino, which inspired the latest Studio Ghibli film.

I know nothing whatsoever about this title and i'm going in blind. I'll let you know how I get on.

The original PlayStation is one of/if not my favourite console of all time, simply because it catapulted my love of video games to another level.

The graphical jump from the 2D era of the SNES/Mega Drive to the full 3D of the PlayStation was huge, a step-up so massive that I don’t think we see one like that again.  

Back in the day when game development cycles didn’t take 3-5 years, piracy was rife and I had all the time in the world to indulge my hobby.   

This article is about my love for the console, my foray into dodgy dealings and how it shaped my gaming habits for years to come.
