I actually do not want to spend even a modicum of a second of my time discussing anti-vaxxers when they are not the reason this pandemic is so out of control. The reason this pandemic is so out of control is because vaccinated people are required to go to work, a.k.a. the worlds largest super spreader event, And our government issued a mandate saying that people, vaccinated or not, should return to work even if they are sick. like I’m tired of these strawman bogeymen that all of you are so attached to you. It’s not the un- vaccinated, it’s not anti-vaxxers, it’s not even people who go have drinks with friends. It’s work. It’s capitalism. And it’s a government who has failed across every metric. Get mad about that and shut the fuck up about everything else.

And I am writing this from a Covid testing line that wraps around the mall twice.

Twice.

Why does it wrap around the mall twice? Because it is the only place in town but you can get tested today. The only place.

So when our government at the highest level issues the statement “just Google it” we’ve got to stop pretending that the issue is anything but what it is.

working with textiles is a trap. first they lure you in with knitting. then you pick up crochet (understandable enough). next you start getting curious in fiber. you learn how to spin (okay that’s a bit extra). weaving is cool, right? you now own a loom. heck, while we’re at it, why not starting making your own clothes (this is getting out of hand)? spinning is no longer enough for you — you need something stronger. you learn how to dye (stop i’m begging). dye is fun, but it’d be nice to have your own source of fiber. you are now a shepherd.

Finished this dress after about two weeks.

#it's kind of a knock off #I found a pattern on ravelry #but did not have money to buy it #so I just kinda based this design off of it #with my own personal twist #like the contrast colors #and the solomon's knot lacework instead of chain loops #and smaller motifs for the pinapple skirt #and the solid section at the hips #cause I wanted to wear it without leggings #crafts #craft #fiber art #crochet
