So, the first random thing that's gonna be on this blog. Genshin Impact. All I'll say is that it's a beautiful game, and I have a story idea for it. As in, ao3 story, but I'm not exactly motivated to do it. In these times, I turn to my consultants--(tumblr)--and ask for their opinion.

The idea is this.

An Arattaki Itto/Reader, in which, the reader (who will be described as neutrally as possible because personally, I'm tired of seeing: "you turn red" "your silky hair" and "threw it in a bun" etc.) is turned into a dog somehow. A large dog. Like a Bloodhound dog, but I'll let the reader decide the breed. Just know that it's a big dog.

Itto, who discovers that you've gone missing, is pretty bummed out, but discovers a dog (you) and starts to unravel the mystery behind your disappearance. Hijinks ensue.

Due to popular demand, here is how I thought the science team looked like based on the ao3 fics I read! Additionally, I'll explain my reasoning behind their designs.

Gordon Freeman: For Gordon, I didn't really get much descriptions out of the fics I read. Just that there was an event where he'd lost an arm, had blonde hair, a small beard, green eyes, and glasses. I assumed he was a blonde for some reason, and when the H.E.V suit was mentioned, I thought it looked more like pajamas at first. Like slipping on a glove that's VERY protective.

Benrey: Benrey is what really drew me into the Fandom. I'd never seen such awful grammar used for a character before. And the way he spoke made me laugh countless of times. I knew his eyes were a bright yellow, and his body shaped varied based on fic-to-fic, so I just decided he was a large guy. My brain saw him as oddly pale (cuz alien) with fuzzy buzzcut-like brown hair and wears nothing but at-home clothes.

Bubby: You're gonna like this one. I thought Bubby and Benrey were RELATED. Either some familial connection or they just happened to both be aliens from Xen. Due to his aggressive nature and how well Benrey and Bubby seemed to get along in some fics, I assumed they were well acquainted with each other. The funniest part is, my mind saw HIM as a guard, and I remember imagining him being taller than Benrey, had even paler skin, pointy ears and black hair.

Tommy Coolatta: Tommy was apparently human and got along with Benrey well because he was acquainted with his Sweet Voice language. So, to me, someone who learned a whole language deserved a turtleneck and a lab coat. Tommy seemed to be very sweet, and for some reason, my brain thought he was blonde. I liked Tommy because he was always nice and gentle.

Dr. Coomer: There were very few fics I read that involved Dr. Coomer, which is sad because he's such an iconic character for this series. Because everyone referred to him as a Doctor, I also gave him a lab coat. I saw him in his mid-40s or early 50s and gave him some grey hair. I truly didn't know what this man looked like!

ADDITIONAL CHARACTERS (that I will draw soon):

Joshua: Joshua seemed to be Gordon's hypothetical son, yet this hypothetical son appeared to me as a black little boy that dressed in flannels and jean jackets and rapidly growing hair Gordon can't keep up with. Based on what ao3 gave me, I thought the relationship between everyone and Joshua was really sweet.

Sunkist: So, you know Ethan's dog? As in, CrankGamePlays Ethan? His dog Spencer? That's how I saw Sunkist. There weren't many fics involving her either, so I had no idea she was "the perfect dog." I actually thought she was a boy, too.

Darnold and G-Man: They never really appeared in fics, so by the time I read about them, I had already watched the series and knew what they looked like. Sorry about that.

So. I got into HLVRAI through ao3. For those of you who don't know what that is, I highly reccomend watching it when you have the time. It's hilarious. Anyways, I had no idea what these characters looked like, but based on the little description I got in some stories, I started making my ideas of who they are and...

Compared to the real thing. It's hilarious.

Ruv, safely of course, witnessing one of Whitty's explosions for the first time

This one is interesting! I'll do my best shot at it.

"Fourty meters." Whitty said seriously, his hands on Ruv's shoulders.

"Your explosions only affect everyone in a twenty meter radius." Ruv retorted.

"I don't want you to get hurt." Whitty argued.

"I've literally had my ribs break from various explosives with bigger explosions before. I'll be fine." Ruv reassured, a deadpan expression on his face.

"It's me willing to explode for you, you play by my rules." Whitty spoke.

Fuck, that's hard to argue with. Ruv huffed.

"Fine." He agreed.

And that's how Ruv ended up on the very top of a pine tree surveying the wheat field below.

Whitty, who looked very small from up here, gave Ruv a thumbs up, and Ruv gave him a thumbs up.

There's literally no way, with how far Whitty made him go, he could be affected here.

Whitty takes the initiative and starts trying to make himself angry.

"I only explode when I'm angry, panicked, or stressed." Ruv remembered Whitty telling him one day.

He doesn't mind watching Whitty make himself angry, nor how stupid it probably looks.

This is purely for science, and because of Ruv's curiosity that his boyfriend is gratefully willing to satiate.

The change starts off small, and Ruv barely notices it at first. But when he squints, he notices how red Whitty's face is becoming. His eyes are rapidly changing shapes, and flashing every other beat.

His face gets redder, and his expression gets angrier. The flashing starts to quicken its pace, and Ruv's eye widens when he notices his fuse flaring and setting ablaze.

As it burns lower, the flashing gets faster, Whitty's face gets brighter, and the suspense gets thicker.

Until finally, when the fuse is non-existent, Whitty's pupils immediately disappear, and his body goes limp.

Ruv takes that as his cue to hold on to the tree.

He then explodes.

It's a bright flash-so bright, Ruv has to cover his eye just to withstand its intensity.

It's a firey, intense explosion, and Ruv has to shake his head when he hears his ears ringing.

When the dust settled, and Ruv can hear properly, everything that surrounds Whitty has blackened, or, had been set on fire.

Whitty himself is literally missing his fucking head.

His body seems to stumble about for a bit before completely collapsing to the ground.

Yeah, Ruv should really get off this fucking tree.

When Ruv finally reaches Whitty, a third of his face has began to regenerate. Only his mouth appears, and Ruv decides to sit down and let Whitty rest in his lap.

He watches how his head slowly forms in fascination. How everything moves together, how everything takes shape and creates itself. Until finally, his fuse has finished making.

Whitty's eyes slowly flutter open, and Whitty stares at him drunkenly.

"did that satisfy you?" He asked drowsily.

Ruv rolled his eyes.

"Yeah. It did."

Whitty lets out a giant sigh in relief, and Ruv felt himself laugh.
