NGE Femslash Event: Femslashgelion 2021!

Are you an Evangelion fan who’s dissatisfied with the lack of femslash in the fandom? Feeling isolated in a sea of kawoshin and M/F ships? Participate in Femslashgelion, now entering our second year!

Run by @blissey-lesbian and @echidna-auxiliatrix aka Mod Amie and Mod Rae-Mary!

When? Signups last until June 10th. Posting begins on August 20th and runs until September 20th! Assignments will be given out by June 20th.

Where? Post your creations here on Tumblr! You can also post them on any other site you need to. (AO3, FFN, Twitter, DeviantArt, etc)

How does it work? Fill out the Google Form linked here.

Give us three prompts, featuring (almost) any canon eva material or characters, and tell us if you want art or fic of your prompt. One of your prompts will be filled by a partner (similar to a secret santa) chosen for you by our moderators. Prompt examples would be:

Please note that there will not be any one-sided participation, and only one of your prompts will be chosen by your partner. You’ll need to tell us if you want to make art or write fanfiction, and if there are any pairings, scenarios, or source materials you don’t want to work with.

We will match you with a partner, and you’ll select one of their three prompts to fill! You can post your part on any date from August 20th-September 20th, 2021.

Rules:

1. You must sign up with an email address. The reason for this change is because Amie and I had trouble reaching a few people via Discord last year.

2. No gross ships. This includes adult x child ships (additionally: Q!pilots x characters who were always adults, such as Q!Asuka x Misato, are not allowed)

3. No NSFW prompts, even of adult characters. No fetish material such as inflation or abnormal body parts.

4. No abusive or excessively violent prompts.

5. No characters depicted as men either in canon or through other means will be involved in this event. This includes genderbent characters of any type (Female!Shinji or Male!Asuka, even if they are in a trans AU).

6. Your creations can look however you want and be whatever length you want, but it must be evident that you put effort into them.

7. Post on Tumblr! This can include links to FFN, AO3, etc. Tag this blog @femslashgelion or use the tag #femslashgelion2021 so we can reblog it! Make sure you have also tagged your partner accordingly or have messaged it to their Tumblr account. They must be able to receive their part.

Other than that, be as specific or vague as you want in terms of prompts, and please have fun with this!

we were both out with separate groups of friends being single and our groups merged and we started arguing about ____ (dc vs marvel, star wars vs star trek, etc) and our friends just left us thinking we were flirting. (we were)

our plane got delayed on valentine’s day and I knew it’d be a crappy day but just wanted to go home until I struck up a conversation with you

our mutual friend just tricked us into a blind date but left us with their credit card so we should make the most out of it

eating cookies/treats that taste awful just to see the other person smile

“are you a pokemon because I choose you” (aka I’ve been crushing on you for a long time and my friend dared me to ask you out with the cheesiest line I could think of so if you said no I could brush it off as a joke but please say yes)

 trying to one up each other on valentine’s day things because we’re super competitive like that

my neighbour just dumped you and I heard all of it and you’ve been crying in the hallway for like ten minutes now, are you okay?

A Queer Analysis of Code Geass

So, after slaving away and having no life for the past week or so, I’ve FINALLY finished my epic analysis of queerness in Code Geass (complete with links to clips from the series to back up my claims, which is fun).

Premise: Using queerness as a lens, I analyze Suzaku and Lelouch as Othered queer rebels and how the homoerotics of their relationship is at the center of a series that inverts our gendered, political, moral and ideological expectations

Disclaimers: I’m not going to try to prove Suzaku and Lelouch aren’t straight by citing every homoerotic scene between them. I’m using queerness as a tool to analyze the series because, as it turns out, queerness explains A LOT. I back up all of my claims, but instead of assuming everyone is straight until proven otherwise, I get a lot more done with the opposite assumption.

The essay is VERY LONG. I broke it up into sections so you don’t have to read it all at once. It’s also written on a college level, so while it’s super gay, it’s also super academic. After this, my tone get very serious/formal (even about pimping Suzaku’s ass, which is, you know, the beauty of the thing).
