Why do these shots look so uncomfortably similar? Did they do this on purpose? Were they meant to parallel each other - Remy being dead and Rogue feeling dead inside? Is that what this is signifying? Is that what they're telling us with this? Haven't we suffered enough?
Tragedy! You set out to read a negative review of a piece of media you dislike, only to find that the critic is being completely unfair to it and making a bunch of bad, unsupportable arguments.
– The priority for the foreseeable future must be damage control.
– Tall order when Mutants everywhere are taking to the streets.
X-MEN ‘97 – Bright Eyes (S01E07)
Watched episode 7 of the new X-men with my kid, and I lost my shit multiple times.
(1) "Why do I feel like [Cap's shield] hit a random goat?"
(2) Roberto's arc: "I'd just show up and say Hola, I'm a mutant now and if she didn't like it that's her problem" and then "That woman needs to go to Mother School"
(3) Kurt says Rogue lost two people. "Gambit and Remy!" pause "Nobody cares about Magneto"
(4) *gets teary at Rogue and Trask* "She didn't yeet him off the building, she dropped him. Probably not onto a goat."
(5) At the end "I don't know what my eyes just saw, but it's going to take me a day to figure it out." Same, bud. Same.
A part of me finds it hilarious that Gambit gets a full funeral and eulogy, including photo, flowers, grieving friends, family and a feral lover, while Magneto, the leader of the X-Men, whose body was suspiciously never found, barely got mentioned by his team.
Nightcrawler : we are here to commemorate our friend, our hero, Gambit and... *looks down on paper* Magento
