My favorite line in the whole movie that makes me SOB EVERYTIME is when Alma tells Mirabel that even though she lost Pedro, he gave her Mirabel.

And this, while not only incredibly emotional, could be literally true

The miracle came about because Pedro had so much love for his family that he’d do whatever it took to protect them, making the ultimate sacrifice.

Mirabel brought the miracle BACK because she had so much LOVE for her family that she did everything she could to bring them together INCLUDING nearly sacrificing herself to get the candle

so in the most LITERAL sense, Alma lost sight of Pedro’s sacrifice, and lost the miracle, and then HE GAVE HER MIRABEL to help her find her way back, MIRABEL DID NOT GET A GIFT BECAUSE SHE WAS A GIFT
