The specific intersection of gender, class, and immigrant status needs to be addressed in the #StopAsianHate movement. It is beyond disingenuous to aggregate “anti-Asian” hate that does not account for these statues because it erases the most marginalized Asian women who are dark-skinned, disabled, impoverished, immigrants, elders, trans, and sex workers.
What happened in Atlanta happens daily to Asian & migrant women who work in massage parlors (which can sometimes front as sex work). Massage therapists face a combined assault of hypersexualization, abuse, racism, and misogyny.
Please consider boosting smaller mutual aid funds and grassroots organizations over the big #AAPI organizations. These large organizations are usually too broad and often don’t use the money as well.
Here is an ongoing thread of anti-carceral, migrant, sex worker, reproductive justice and other Asian organizations to support instead.
And just in case you can’t access this thread because OP privated, here are some of the major organizations they vouch for:
Red Canary Song: grassroots collective that supports Asian & migrant sex workers, organizing transnationally
Butterfly: provides support, education and information to Asian & migrant sex workers
Swan Vancouver: supports Asian migrant women workers fleeing violence & exploitation
National Asian Pacific American Women’s Forum: advocates & supports immigrant Asian women worker and reproductive rights

no spoons for a decent warning rn but the venom trailer gets real flashy about halfway through (and the first movie has at least one serious strobe sequence) so stay safe and spread the word

I don’t study genocides war crimes and human rights for fun. I study it bc my people have been at the foot from the very first genocide of the 20th century and previous attempts to exterminate my entire race. The fact that no one is speaking up when another genocide is at the brink of occurring to the ethnic Armenians living in Artsakh (Nagorno Karabakh) is mind blowing. I have to say I’m not surprised by the lack of effort - Americans, especially, are the most self interested humans I’ve met. This isn’t about narrative, this is about rapid belligerent individualism. We can philosophize all day about it but at the end - people don’t give a shit about anyone but themselves. There is rarely any altruism left in this world. As Monte said, no ones gonna fight for us, we will have to fight on our own to survive. The alternative is not an option.

PLEASE DON'T SCROLL PAST
TW: police brutality, Black death
Tumblr media
On May 6, 2020, IMPD officer Dejoure Mercer fatally shot 21 year old Dreasjon Reed while he was running away. Reed's only "crime" was speeding on the fucking highway. Despite there being video of the murder both from Reed's own Facebook live and a nearby security camera along with eyewitness testimony, the grand jury decided that there was not enough evidence to charge the cop responsible with murder. Please donate whatever you can to the family's GoFundMe here. All donations go to Reed's family to help pay for legal fees and to get by while grieving. If you can, please also donate to Indy10 Black Lives Matter, the local activists who have been working tirelessly to get justice:

Almost 200 people were murdered in Armenia in 3 days and y'all are still ignoring us.
This is not a war, this is a massacre Azerbaijan and Turkey are committing against the Armenian people.
Turkey's president literally admitted that he wants to finish what his ancestors started. He wants to commit another genocide, and this time he wants to kill us all.
Silence is violence

Just have to say like four things about SPN and Good Omens…
SPN gave us a bi god.
Good Omens gave us a female god.
SPN gave us a good angel and (kind of) demon ship.
Good Omens gave us a really good angel and demon ship.
That’s all.

im so tired of ppl trying to figure out if/what mental illnesses or learning disorders trump may have to “figure out why hes the way he is”!
hes the way he is because hes a rich white abusive bigot! not because of a possible mental illness or learning disorder!
assuming that terrible ppl are terrible because of mental illnesses literally just enforces the belief that ppl with mental illnesses are inherently dangerous which,, literally gets ppl abused and killed

The sign of high quality is the fact the book was banned by the government. Trash literature NEVER EVER had any troubles with the law.
