like ok. part of what makes devilman crybaby so depressing is that god isn't uncaring. he does care, but he only cares about the devil's eternal torment. humanity's fate doesn't matter to him, if it did he wouldve intervened earlier or joined the devilmen's fight against the demons. not once during the plot does he lift a finger to help. earth is just the setting for satan's torture

it's only after ryo's lost akira and had the opportunity to realize his feelings that he actually nukes the world. that means god saw what happened miki, miko, and everyone else and turned away from it because it wasn't important to him. what was important was that the devil suffered and that he knew akira long enough to know love and what it was like to lose it. nothing else matters and it never will
