“Yes everyone, I am aware that Volthaug the Relentless is just a few days south of here,” the necromancer said, “but we have a separate committee for tackling that issue. Now we really need to focus if we’re going to get through everything on the agenda for today’s staff meeting.”
“I know you all think I probably sound like a repeating parrot hydra, but I’m going to say it again: We have got to reduce the time it takes to get to these hall lights, OK? These are people who rely on us to get their needs done, and we can’t make them wait five minutes for someone to respond. Even if it’s just poking your head in the door to let them know you’ll be a couple minutes, that can go a long way towards reassuring our residents.”
“Also, it has come to my attention that there is a rumor circulating among some of the staff that I secretly give out bonuses to whoever has the most deaths in their unit. Let me be clear that I have never given anyone so much as an extra lunch break for their death totals. We’re not here to hurry our residents into their graves people, right? We’re here to make them as comfortable as possible for however long they’re still with us. Now I believe this same rumor circulated last year as a kind of prank on some of the new hires. I thought I was already clear that I didn’t find it funny then, so let me be extra clear. If I find out anyone spreads this rumor in the future, you will lose your job immediately. You have been warned, do not test me on this.”
“Now, moving on to mealtime. Please remember everyone that it’s your job to get them to the dining area at mealtimes, but it is not your job to pressure them into eating. They know their own bodies, and it’s our job to be prepared and give them options when they are hungry. Also, when it comes to thickening potions to use for people on a liquid diet, remember to check the chart regarding…”
Story Idea: Set in a fantasy world, a necromancer uses their magic to provide laborers in the town to build walls, maintain roads, harvest crops, and more.
With the all the profit they earn from hiring out their undead workforce, they fund a private nursing home with incredible elderly care. The nursing home is absolutely free, as long as residents agree to let the necromancer have their body for reanimation if they die while at the nursing home.
Maybe at some point a warlord comes and the protagonist has to protect the town with everybody’s reanimated grandparents? Honestly, who needs a big bad when you can have protagonist instructing their employees on good end of life care, and how to show proper respect for the dead, amiright?!

A couple weeks ago I was peeling potatoes at home and thinking, “Man, why did I complain about this so much as a kid? It’s not that hard. How much of a wimp was I?”
Then earlier today I was peeling potatoes at my parents’ house, using their peeler from the 80’s/90’s, and I was like, “Childhood Dave, I owe you an apology.”

Hey Dave! Been a while. Glad to see you posting more regularly! I haven't been posting much original content in the past few years, but I have now (literally just a month ago) graduated from my bachelor's program! My creative outlet has mostly been discord and various ttrpg campaigns.
Congratulations on graduating!! Have you already found a job that you want to use your degree for? If not, would you feel comfortable sharing what you’re looking for so we can help you get the word out?

Well, I don't really know what to say here but uh, I'm Fawful and I'm a gay autistic furry. I love puzzles, dragons and all kinds of games. And I guess I wouldn't mind having more like-minded peers?
Hey Fawful! I know you and I have been following each other for a LONG time. (I think you were one of the early members of the Flavorum?)
In any case, I appreciate you saying hi, and I love your blog description! @yoshifawful64

Yo, what up? We don't know each other because I don't follow you, and this isn't me asking for a shoutout or anything so you don't have to answer this if you don't want. I just wanted to congratulate you on your personal growth because I recently saw that post you made about how you've evolved over the last six years or so
Oh, well I’m following you now! 😁
And thank you for the words of encouragement. Growth and change sometimes come with discomfort and a need to shift expectations, but I’d rather struggle through growth than relax in stagnation.

@zoyogrl and I went to a baby shower earlier today, and there was a table where people could use cloth markers to decorate onesies for the baby to wear

Send me asks introducing yourself and your blog?
I remember one of the most discouraging things for me when I was new on Tumblr, was feeling like all my posts were just sailing off into the void to be seen by nobody. And if anyone reading this feels like that, I’d like to help if I can.
I have some extra time this weekend, and I’m going to use some of that time to keep a closer eye on my Tumblr inbox. So if you send me an ask that introduces yourself and tells me a bit about your blog here on Tumblr, I would be more than happy to follow you and respond to your ask so people following my blog can see your introduction too.
Oh, and while it’s not a requirement, if you’d like to tell me in your ask why you chose to follow my blog, I’d consider that an awesome bonus!
Anybody interested?
P.S. If we’re already mutuals and you’d like some added exposure, you can still send me an ask introducing yourself and I’ll be more than happy to say hi again! 😁

Opinions can change 👆
This post of mine is from 2017, back when I was still very religious, and condemning pornography was a major part of the doctrine I believed in. In fact, I was fairly vocal for a time on my blog about my views on this.
Since that time, I have revised my views and I think people should be allowed to enjoy the things that bring them enjoyment, as long as it does not come from the harm or exploitation of others.
Honestly, when I came across this post, I considered just deleting it from my blog so it wouldn’t be used to support views I no longer agree with. But rather than simply erase a part of my former self, I thought it would be more constructive to build on the conversation and show that I am (like all human beings) a dynamic, evolving person. None of us are static or unchanging because the act of being alive is to experience change every moment of our existence.
If you are someone who followed my blog specifically for how “wholesome” my content is, I understand if you feel disappointed or offended by my change in opinion. I’m not saying this to hurt or shock anyone. But if there are people who follow my blog specifically because of views I’ve shared in the past like the ones above, it seemed disingenuous to let people continue to believe that I still hold those views.
To be clear, my blog is still intended to be safe for minors. I have no intention of shifting my content to include pornographic or sexually explicit posts. And if I ever do post anything that you think crosses that line, feel free to call me out on it. Participation and discussion are still my favorite aspects of this blog, so I hope that will always continue.
Why do you hate porn?
I have seen the devastating effects of pornography addiction ruin the lives of friends and family members. It takes and takes and gives nothing of value back. I see no redeeming value in it.
Worst of all, I know I’m not immune to it. If I let my guard down, even for a moment, I’m in danger of ruining so much of this happy life I’ve worked so hard for. Decades of happiness torn down horrifically fast. It is insidious and it is dangerous.
Also, please let me be clear: THIS POST IS NOT AN INVITATION TO DISCUSS THE MERITS OF PORNOGRAPHY.
You have asked me a question and I have answered it, but I’m NOT interested in debating my position. If anyone feels the need to defend pornography, please do it where I can politely ignore it. If you try to do it here, I will block you.
Is that close minded? HELL YES!! Because my mind and my spirit are valuable to me, and that’s what you do when a deadly enemy is at your gates. You CLOSE the gates.
Please realize this is not a personal crusade of mine. I’m not going on to other blogs and scolding them for their views on pornography. And it’s not my intention to pass personal judgement on anyone else.
But I am VERY serious about my own cognitive self-defense and personal boundaries. (In fact I almost didn’t answer this question because I worried about people wanting to debate the issue, but I decided you deserve an honest and straightforward answer.)
Hopefully I’ve been sufficiently honest and straightforward here.

This video answers the question of how you get semen from a bee, but fails to answer how you get milk from a bee.
The answer to this, of course, is to squeeze the boo-bees 🐝🥛
(I’m sorry, I couldn’t resist)
Please enjoy the infectious laughter of the Australian senate struggling to keep its composure while grilling a man about bee semen

The Cold War ended just before I started grade school. The 9/11 terrorist attacks happened during my senior year of high school. That means that the vast majority of my childhood enjoyed a period of peace that the United States has not enjoyed since 2001.
When people talk about the optimism and subsequent disappointment that my generation has lived through, I think it has very little to do with “participation trophies,” and far more to do with the trajectory of the world we grew up in, compared to the world we entered as adults.
We believed we could save the planet through recycling and other tips we learned from Captain Planet. We thought “world peace” was totally attainable through international goodwill. We chatted with friends on AOL Instant Messenger, and we assumed online interactions would all be that friendly.
I’ve heard my generation called “Xellenials” or “The Oregon Trail Generation,” but personally I’d rather think of some kind of name that reflects the peace and optimism that defined our formative years. Because it’s difficult to overstate just how much that has defined us.
