Pharmacology kicking my ass and some baby donkeys that were born in our university. The university gets paid by a donkey milk farm to do AI on the mares and then keep them and the babies until they are weaned.

I am not doing my thesis in equine reproduction but some of my classmate are and they watched these baby be born 💛

please make sure that wherever you’re at in life, you don’t treat it like a transitory period. don’t waste your college years wishing to already be graduated & have a job. don’t waste your single years wishing for someone to be in love with. if/when those things come, they will come in due time and they will be good. but there is nothing like looking back and feeling empty because you wasted literal years ignoring what you had because you were hoping for something better. while it’s important to better yourself and reach for your goals, don’t neglect the present because that’s where you are now and it’s your now that determines your future.

49 people were killed on March 15th, 2019 when Brenton Tarrant opened fire on people inside two separate mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand. These are some of the lives which were lost.

DAOUD NABI (71)

The shooting death of Daoud Nabi has been confirmed by his son Omar. He is the first fatality to have been identified. Mr.Nabi made it his work to help refugees who were new to New Zealand, and his son said his father died after being shot while trying to shield others from gunfire.

24.02.19 // home. I lit a candle and sprinkled some lavender flowers around. it’s been a rough week and I’ve been sick, but being forced to stay still and avoid schoolwork has shown me the ways in which I do stuff not out of joy and curiosity but simply out of anxiety. well, I’ll work on that. in the meantime I’ll just admire my lovely sleepy cat while he clearly judges me.

A song thrush can easily be mistaken for a mistle thrush or redwing, all of which are becoming more of a regular sight, here, at the centre.

This song thrush was, unfortunately, involved in an RTC just a few days ago. Showing signs of stress and respiratory problems, Maru had a look in the bird’s mouth and saw blood in the trachea. After removing the blood and finding no other injuries, the bird was transferred into an oxygenated incubator to help it regain control of its breathing.

Following the oxygen therapy, the bird was placed into one of our mesh cages and moved to the quiet of an orphan shed to recover from the ordeal.

A few days later, happily, this lovely song thrush is back to full health and off for release!

Please stick to domesticated animals as pets 💛

Here’s an example of an instance in which the popularity of exotic pets on social media is actively contributing to illegal capture and sale of wild otters as pets. This is driven by the cute videos, and the fact that when everyone normalizes “wanting one” in action or speech, there really are people who will follow through and acquire an animal.
