ok. time for rizzles prediction/fantasy:

this scene right here:

will be after a long, drawn out game of 'will they or wont they' regarding Maura and Tommy 'just-broke-out-of-prison' Rizzoli. I imagine that Jane would have been making subtle Rizzoli hints (ie. not subtle at all) of her displeasure at all of this, assuring that ultimately, Maura will call off the whole weird-flirting-chess-playing-thing, and they wont. Ultimately, Maura's loyalty to Jane will win out.  

So we get to this scene and they're both all 'i dont want to hate you', 'i don't want to hate you either' (because having fights like these are clearly things straight best friends do.. just like me and my ex-girlfriend used to.) 

and then Jane will pull Maura in for a hug.. i imagine with a reassuring 'come here you'.. and there'll be this moment, when they're pulling away. their cheeks will brush and Jane will look down to meet Maura's eyes, their arms still around each other. it will only last a second, but a split second too long for it to be meaningless.

and then rizzles-fans everywhere will die.

because hope will not be lost.
