Guess who's going to be short 1000 dollars this month.
Social Security decided to screw us over AGAIN and cut Jasmine's paycheck down to 300. And hours have been cut down so much at work that I only have one day a week. Oh, and I also got sick and ended up having to miss the one day I work this week. Lots of fun around here right now.
The PayPal address is the same as ever if anyone's willing to help out: [email protected]
I'm so tired of this crap happening all the time.

That is completely understandable. My husband and I are in a somewhat similar situation. We would like to donate more money to him right now, but we're essentially really poor and have to save what money we DO have for our basic needs. We're hoping and praying to God it won't stay that way though, and that BananaPie will get the help he needs with this situation. I hope your situation improves for your well-being as well. <3 I'll be praying on that. <3
In the end, my husband just didn't want people to get the wrong idea about our friend.

Regarding Banana Pie's Money Trouble
Hello, everyone. This is FractiousLemon speaking. I'm a good friend of Banana Pie and I know there's been some controversy surrounding his financial situation, so I'd like to explain if I can.
First of all, I understand that the spot he's in right now looks shady. Our friends all had a lot of questions to ask about it at first as well. From the sound of things, he'd filed his taxes incorrectly over the past four years due to misunderstanding how the papers are written and not being aware that he could hire someone else to do the work for him. Honestly, I find this easy to believe. Filling out any kind of tax related paperwork is a nightmare for me and I know I'd be making the same mistakes if I didn't have anywhere else to go.
The tax department evidently updated their computer system recently, which made them aware of cases like his, of people who've incorrectly filed--either intentionally or not--and they contacted him saying that he owes the previous four years of back taxes.
Compounding the problem is the fact that he recently lost a job and then found a new one only to lose that job when the company began to lose business. He's unable to ask for help from his parents because they're currently going through a divorce and his only friends are other deadbeat artists like myself with no money to spare. And on top of it all, he has difficulty with English and social norms. There are many times when he doesn't know how to phrase himself correctly or doesn't understand that some of his actions may bother others.
I know this sounds like I'm making excuses, but I've known him for a long time and I can tell you he's a very good person. He's just struggling with a lot of things right now. Unfortunately, I don't have the money to spare and I'm sure many of you don't either, but I promise that he's not running a scam. He's just in a bad spot that seems to keep getting worse for him right now. I was there a few years ago during and after my divorce. Life can be rough at times.
In the end, I know he's sorry for upsetting you and for not explaining himself clearly. Again, I promise he's not a con artist. He's just a guy who struggles with money, language, and (at the moment) life in general. Go easy on him, please.

How is it that Tumblr is seventeen years old and we still can't send messages as secondary blogs?

I just saw a profile on this site called "thebisexualteen" and the first thought in my head was "How does every teenager on this site share the same profile? That must get confusing."

Good News/Bad News
Good News: Our church family helped us to pay our rent this month! We're so grateful for their help!
Bad News: Still no updates on my coworker who collapsed last night. Please keep praying for him. I'm very worried about his health.

Another Prayer Request
We think my coworker Andrew may have fainted or even had a stroke last night. We couldn't find him anywhere last night until we eventually found him asleep on the office floor and when we woke him up, he was disoriented and slightly unresponsive. This isn't normal behavior for him at all. He's not the sort of person who just bails and sleeps on the job. Please be praying for him. I'm worried.

Thanks A Lot, Social Security
Social Security keeps yoinking cash out of my wife's paycheck because they think I make too much money (which I don't). I'm considering some possibilities that may help with that, but for now, I'm going to need to ask for money yet again in order to make rent at the end of this week. Originally I thought I'd need 400 but it looks more like 600. I'm really sorry for this, guys. If you can spare anything, I appreciate it.
Goal: 0/600
Once more, I'm very sorry for asking about this again.

Since Social Security keeps deciding that my wife deserves to earn less money every month, I'm going to have to ask around for something in the ballpark of 300-400 dollars for us to make rent this month. I'll figure out the specifics later. I'm tired. Tired of pretty much everything, but especially tired of our funds getting shortchanged more and more because they think two people can live on the bread crumbs my cashier job provides.

Dark shade is the best shade. Also, remember when Zephyr Breeze wrote a suicide note in the original version of that blog and I announced the literal death of this and every other comic I write with a tombstone? Good times...

A bit pretentious in its wording, but right on the nose. This is what people talk about when they say "forced diversity" and such. The atmosphere the story inhabits says it all.
i have rule i semi-adhere to for media criticism which is to ideologically meet shit where it's at (or where it's presented to me). i like to call it the "i didn't make you market it that way" rule--like, if lancer's union was just presented as a sci-fi setting, that would be fine. i don't expect all sci-fi settings to be communist utopias! but when the creators of lancer use the word utopia like 20 times & bandy around words like 'mutual aid' and 'post-scarcity' and 'anticapitalist' when describing it, then to me that becomes absolutely fair game. similarly if someone says 'stardew valley is fun i like farming :)' then i'm not gonna reply with a long post about how it's ideologically petty-bourgeois--but if they say 'stardew valley is anticapitalist', then they've opened up that can of worms and it's fair for me to point out that the worms exist.

Nothing says "I'm over 55" like going to CVS to print out full color phone screenshots from Facebook calling Joe Biden "the most evil man in history."

Do you have any advice for someone who wants to be an artist?
Yeah. Ask an actual professional and not a perpetual failure in every way. That'd be my first suggestion.
The next would be to not even try. It's exhausting unless you can make a living out of it and you'll never make a living out of it. The odds are infinitely against you. Nobody will pay you to sit around and play all day. I wish I'd learned that early enough in my life to develop some skills or interests that are actually useful.

Dear humanity,
Can you please make an attempt to defend your opinion of something without reverting to calling the other opinion racist, classist, sexist, or whatever -ist you can think of? Both sides are valid.
Thank you.
