I think wyngro is still infamous, but it’s been dead for like 2 years now and we don’t talk about it all the time. But if someone in a discord chat is like “what’s wyngro” you’re gonna get dozens of people crawling out of the woodwork to tell tales of its legacy and downfall

Even in non-ARPG groups Wyngro still pops up at times usually because of people who were in Wyngro simply overlapping into other groups. I don't see it anywhere near as much as I used to though and the few evolving species groups I'm in have never brought it up. I think a lot of people have really just moved on from talking about it as much.

I think talk of wyngro is still prevalent in arpg spaces. Especially ones that people flocked too after the downfall like grimsby grove, Staves rest, Whistler crest, stuff like that. Often people will say wynstop instead tho.

To the anon who genuinely wanted to know: Wyngro or "The Stop" or "Wynstop" is usually talked about in private now, most ARPG discords have rightfully warned users to not talk in depth about the group to avoid bringing up bad blood. But it is infamously known about amongst the evolving species scene as a kind of 'we loved it in the past but it had a lot wrong with it' sort of group.

It's probably for the best Wyngro doesn't come back imo. Not many people trust the owner anymore, and the species itself has fallen into infamy of how not to run both a closed species and an arpg. Even if a reboot happened, it will never be as large and prosperous as it once was.

Coatalas are not the owner's design no, but she owns the rights to them! I don't have the link on hand, but I do know they should still be on DA. A popular species designer made them, and they always sell full rights to the design to the purchaser. So again, while not designed by the owner, she did purchase full rights to the Coatala. (They will not be named this when searching for them, iirc, the species had not been named yet on its adoption post)

Personally I don't think the group was ever getting a reboot. The owner never made an official announcement of it, just posts of her characters revamped on her own DA. Now that the website and group are completely vacant, it seems like a clear sign of giving up. There also has been no activity on her page since the beginning of the year.

There was patreon activity which made people suspect it! But yes nothing official.

@anon "owner designed everything but new fish" what about gurps, spoodles, and I believe rattle cattle were all designed by other artists. If I remember correctly, I dont think coatala, ori or nocs were created by her either? Just don't want to discredit the other artists that were involved with helping create art that's all

Edit: I should clarify that coatalas (and nocs I think?) are not her design but 100% legally purchased from another creator.

Not been here a while but noticed the moppit talk. She designed everything herself. The fish that were supposed to be introduced would've been the first non-owner stuff. I'm sure some staff can confirm regarding her designs. As for the moppit, tots sure do look similar to snowaddles from the same game yeah?

On the left is a wyngro tot, on the right is a Mino Monster Snowwaddle.

I think in the interest of fairness we should point out both designs are very simply and possibly easy to come up with on your own. However, this combined with the other Mino Monster post it could be questionable.

Hey guys! We love that we have a caring following who is worried for the mental health of those who used to be involved in wyngro. However, we really aren’t looking to publish asks speculating on the mental well-being of anyone. It’s kind of above our pay-grade. And frankly I can only see it being detrimental to those involved if we decided to post a bunch of asks theorizing about it.

We’d like to remind everyone that our focus on this blog is wyngro and we don’t tend to delve into personal matters with people on this blog. Thank you!

Hey does anybody know if the owner is like. Alright? Her DA account looks kind of dead and from the looks of the actual Wyngro group it seems to not be a supergroup anymore. Not sure if she did that herself or if the subscription or whatever just ran out. I've had my beef with the owner but I really hope nothing super bad happened to her

To our knowledge the owner is okay. DA recently changed how groups present on DA with eclipse and the owner may not have bothered to format anything since the group is dead.

The owner had a burst of activity on DA when it seemed like revamping wyngro was in the works but it seems like that’s just fizzled out.
