So I thought that I’d make a list of places where I’ve found some MXTX and Yizhan merch here in Shanghai because I happen upon all of this on accident.

The best place I’ve found merch is at Bailian ZX on East Nanjing Road.

The second floor has the store where I bought the Hualian figures and Wangxian cards. This store is like 6 floors, so on the fourth floor they had the Chinese version of the first two books of the mo dao zu shi manhua and they had a bit of Wangxian and Hualian stands and buttons. On the fifth floor, there’s this K-pop store where I found my Yizhan banner and they had some other options as well. They also had solo Wang Yibo and Xiao Zhan merch (right next to each other 🥰🥰).

The drinks with Hualian on them are at pretty much any convenience store. I hope this helps some more people find mxtx merch in China!

So I’ve found more Yizhan ads and I thought that I’d share them here 🤗 and I found a store that sold me the Yizhan banner, they had some others and I was so happy to notice even their separate merch was put right next to each other ♥️💚🐢

I saw Xiao Zhan and Wang Yibo ads for the first time since coming to China yesterday, and I was so excited! I’ve been keeping my eye out for them since I landed, and I finally spotted them! In the same building, no less! ❤️💚🐢

In memoriam

Now that most of you have read chapter 209 of the manga and have hopefully let it settle in a bit, I would like to give some attention to this.

RIP Snake 3/15/1871 - 12/9/1889

A beloved member of the Phantomhive household and Kuroshitsuji family has passed away. Snake, as we learned, was 18 years old and had no other name. His eccentric looks an dabilities made him a very special character to many who have feelings akin to Snake's: the fact that they desperately want to belong somewhere, despite being an oddity. Snake therefore was a very popular character, even becoming the seventh most popular character of the series according to an official poll, just missing out on the Akuma Six.

Much about Snake remains a mystery. We still don't know what caused his appearance, or how he wound up at the freakshow. I have little hope that we'll find that out yet now that he's gone.

But we will not let his passing go by unnoticed. That's why we announce the following:

Snake's memorial service (#Snake Memorial) Starting this friday, and lasting throughout the weekend, we will honor Snake in the ways fandoms tend to do:

Friday: Memories day. Share your favourite manga/anime moment(s) of Snake and his Snakes.

Saturday: Fan content. Share your fanfictions, fanart, etc. featuring Snake.

Sunday: Speculation day. What headcanons do you have for Snake? Which questions left unanswered do you think you have the solution to? Share your thoughts on Snake on the third and final day.

Sometimes I remember that this artwork exists.

And like, seriously what were they thinking?

I mean no shade to Kayano (much love for her in this house) but they could not have made the poor girl look like more of a third wheel if they tried.

There is no heterosexual explanation for whatever Karma and Nagisa are doing in this image? Sure, the shoulder sling can be casual buddies. But one does not simply tenderly grip their bro whilst blushing like this. If Nagisa stood any closer to Karma here he would be ON his feet.

Like I don't know if Karma and Nagisa know how coded this image is in canon here. But Kayano has just a slight glow of vacant despair that suggests she's aware.

Anyway 10/10 one of my favourite artworks.

Love how absolutely NOTHING in Light’s life was important after L died to the point where we cut, what is it? 5, 6 years in the future before anything matters again? That’s insane. We got absolutely zero insight into his attitudes towards L after he was gone, which almost makes me think he took it just as rough as he did victorious, which is something that Obha didn’t want to portray as to not disturb the sort of “stoic” tone he’s obsessed with giving everybody for some reason.

I’ve said it before, but I don’t think Light is emotionless either. I think he’s quite literally two people in one body. Light Yagami and Kira. Unfortunately, Kira is the stronger and more frequent of the two entities. But still, when I rewatch death note, I catch glimpses of Light Yagami here and there (pre-Yotsuba of course, because that wouldn’t count). I’ll talk about those instances in the future, but yeah. Kira took delight in L’s death. Light was destroyed by it.

Actually, I think Light’s instinctual reaction to L falling to the floor was distress. You can see it in his face before it shifts to a smile. He’s actually upset by it to the point where I wouldn’t doubt BOTH of them teared up in those last moments before that shit-eating Kira grin shows up. (Obha/Obata would never actually show this, unfortunately 🙄) I even think the scream wasn’t entirely acting. He wasn’t scared about the shinigami though, Light screamed because L ACTUALLY died. He did it. Light got what he wanted and now his only friend is fucking dead.

Do I think Kira laughed at L’s graveside? Yes. I do. But I think Light cried first. I genuinely have reason to believe in that.

I headcanon a Light Yagami gripping the bathroom sink or toilet seat, throwing up and crying in the immediate aftermath lmfao. I genuinely don’t believe that it was all sunshine and rainbows, hence the time skip. It’s not just because it was uneventful, it’s because portraying that time period would force Obha to get into the grief more than he was willing to.

I WHOLEHEARTEDLY believe every word I just said.
