ANNA TORV - FAN BOOK PROJECT
A week ago, I wrote this post, about launching a fan book project for Anna Torv, all about us thanking her for her work as a fanbase. I have the whole thing basically ready to go--as in, instructions for you guys to follow to contribute--but right now I'm mostly trying real hard to just spread the word, so I don't end up shouting into the void. I'm hoping that the more people are aware & following the main page when I announce more details, the higher the chances of...success??
If you have a twitter account, PLEASE FOLLOW THE PAGE, and share literally any of the posts (the main announcement being the best one to share).
Tumblr media
I also wanted to reassure people who are NOT on twitter but wish to participate that I will of course put all the information on tumblr as well. There will be an address email for you to submit things to, and a little website where everything will be explained. Can you tell I'm trying to do this seriously?
Because I am. I just really, really need people to get involved in helping spread this out, because I'm only one person, and there's literally nothing I can do unless a good amount of fans get involved.
PLEASE REBLOG THIS POST. Or the announcement from last week. OR BOTH.
Even if you know you're unlikely to take part in this, even if you have no idea who Anna Torv is (although I recommend you find out, she's quite fabulous).
All you have to do is click the little reblog button, which is what this website used to be all about.
Please give me faith back in fandom. Prove to me we can still be a community, just like we were in the early 2010s when we saved Fringe just by making a lot of noise online.

Happy Birthday, Anna!
Tumblr media
I recently read Jane Harper’s Force of Nature after discovering that it was being made into a movie with Anna playing the part of Alice.  What a pleasure to see Olivia Dunham in my mind’s eye whenever Alice Russell--described as a beautiful woman with long, flowing blonde hair--appeared on the page.

I saw Etta for the first time. Even though she was turned away from me, I could have sworn I was looking at you. It wasn’t until I told her who I was that she admitted the truth; that she was your daughter.

Had the pleasure of obtaining a PCR test for Covid-19 this weekend.  I couldn't help reliving this scene from “The Arrival" (1.04) as the medical technician rooted around in the far reaches of my nasal passages with her seemingly sharpened swab.

I’ve been enjoying a trek through Fringecomix.  In this one, Ellen shares some compelling thoughts on the outsized role William Bell’s character plays in the Fringe saga.  Very insightful!

Clark Middleton, one of the most memorable of the many fantastic guest stars on Fringe, has died after a battle with the West Nile virus.  RIP to a wonderful actor.

How is it that a beautiful lady like you is stuck with this guy?
It’s my job.
Well I got plenty of books on how to rethink your career.

Season 4 is a saga of characters changing.  Peter goes from non-existence to an expectant father.  Olivia starts out as Nina’s ward, begins a tentative relationship with Lincoln, then loses the memories of her life without Peter and transforms into the Olivia Dunham of Seasons 1-3.  Lincoln moves from mistrusting Olivia, to falling in love with her, to his love becoming irreversibly unrequited, to moving to the other universe to pursue Olivia’s doppelganger.  The character undergoing the biggest change, however, is Walter.

Season 4 begins with Walter finishing a three-year self-quarantine in his lab, manically traversing strictly linear path segments and covering all reflecting surfaces.  He finally ventures out in episode 4 to accompany Olivia to New York in search of Cameron James, only to succumb to mysophobia in his hotel room (thankfully, a root beer float serves as an antidote).  At first refusing to have anything to do with Peter’s quest to find his “home,” he is visited by the Redverse Elizabeth and agrees to help this version of their sons.  Peter’s influence apparently stokes his wanderlust, and he insists on engaging in field work in Westfield.  Later, he crosses the Bridge to consult with the Other Side’s Fringe Division regarding deaths caused by David Robert Jones.  He even visits St. Claire’s.  Eventually, he leads Astrid to Boston’s waterfront, where she is shot and he is captured and reunited with William Bell . . . and where he initiates a brilliant but horrifying experiment with Olivia’s mortality to save the two universes from destruction—using only available office supplies.  Quite an evolution!
