Sho-Dan: Issho is based on Ichi from the Zatoichi series, so in my mind it made sense that he would've been a wandering swordsman in his youth, maybe running into Dadan during his travels. I think they'd be perfect for each other because I think their personalities are complimentary- Issho is intimidating and powerful but very kind, whereas Dadan is tough and cowardly yet has a secret sweet heart. I think they're both misunderstood characters that have lead lives absent of love, and I think they could find that in each other.

Smoking Kills: Why was Caesar so vindictive when he thought he was stabbing Smoker’s heart? Sure, his plans are crumbling around him, but is that really Smoker’s fault? Law orchestrated everything, Luffy beat him senseless, and Chopper was rehabilitating the kids. Did he just want a victory? Or was it because it was Smoker? What happened before everything? He knew about Smoker. Did he envy his freedom? Sympathize with how he felt ineffective to change anything? Did he feel he wasn’t strong enough to deserve Smoker, and thus put everything into developing his weaponry? It was only when Smoker was right there with him did he learn that Smoker hated what he was doing. He tried not to dwell on it. Vergo could fill the void, right? …no. It wasn’t the same. As he thought his fate was sealed, he made one more choice. If he couldn’t have Smoker in life, then Smoker would await Caesar in death…but for naught. Smoker was alive….and a small part of Caesar felt relief.

Thinking about Frobin this am.

• How gentle Robin is with her words around franky, knowing he’s sensitive and cries easily.

• How gentle Franky is with Robin physically, even though he knows realistically holding her hand tighter than just fingers wrapped around each other wouldn’t break her, but not being willing to tempt fate.

• the way Franky would keep her company when she hangs back from the group, alone together lost in thought.

• Franky getting too torn up in a fight and Robin takes it upon herself to take care of him, seeing as she’s closest to him. She couldn’t help but notice the flush on the cyborg’s patches of human skin.

• Franky getting flustered whenever Robin calls his name.

• Robin going out of her way to make plans to stay at the ship on outting days to talk to Franky about the 1000 Sunny, and Franky rambling on because someone wants to listen.

• Franky convincing Robin to take an outing with him because he wants everyone to see him escorting “the prettiest girl in town”

• Robin using her powers to surprise franky on his birthday, tears welling up in his eyes as he pressed her extra hands against his cheeks “Robin! You shouldn’t have!”

Welcome to the One Piece Ship War - crack edition!

What is a crack ship?

A crack ship is a (in this case romantic/sexual) ship that has little to no basis in canon.

When will my ship qualify for this tournament?

They will automatically qualify (after having been submitted) when:

The characters involved have NO canon interaction*, and are not part of the same crew (no matter how popular the ship is).

The characters involved have 1 short canon interaction and less than 10 fics for them on AO3 (as a side pairing counts too)

They might qualify if:**

They have no canon interaction but are part of the same crew or organisation.

They have 1 short canon interaction but more than 10 fics on AO3

They have 1 long canon interactions or 2/3 short ones and less than 10 fics on AO3

They have multiple canon interactions but NO fics on AO3

It's an incredibly funny ship (but you gotta convince me it's crack!)

These ships will not qualify on principal:

ANY ship between Strawhats (honorary Strawhats don't count if they haven't met a certain Strawhat - examples: BrookNami does not qualify, SanjiVivi does not qualify, but BrookVivi would qualify)

The top 25 ships (or something, be sensible) on AO3.

*canon interactions include fillers, cover stories, specials, and movies (though I haven't seen the last 2 yet and I don't remember much of the other ones, so these might slip through, but I'm counting on you to honor this rule). Also, I won't know nor check interactions in the manga (that haven't been animated yet), so something might slip through there as well. Just honor the rules, please.

**Any ships in the 'might qualify' category will be judged on crackyness by me first, and when I'm in doubt, I will put them up for a vote - so expect a few polls for this.

Rules!

All characters must be from One Piece (no OCs).

Must be a crack ship according to above guidelines.

Ships that were in the previous shipping war tournament are allowed in this one too, as long as they follow the previous rule.

No moral limitations. These are fictional characters, not real people. Go wild. (But be prepared for 'problematic' ships to be voted out in round 1 or 2.) I will not start discourse/moral discussions about any ships! (messages about morally questionable ship are likely to be ignored and deleted)

Poly ships are allowed! I will cap them at 5 characters, however, and at least 1 character should follow the interaction rules stated above. (examples: JinbeRobinBrook or KidLawLu are not allowed. RobinNamiKiller would be allowed, on grounds of Killer having no interactions with the other 2 (I think? 😂)) Again, be sensible here.

All characters involved have to be humanoid. No concepts, objects, or full animals (fishmen/merfolk, minks, and Chopper are allowed).

You can submit multiple ships, but use a new form for each ship.

Do not hate on other ships, just support your own.

You are allowed and encouraged to submit fanart! As a lot of these ship won't have official art with all characters in it, it will come down to fanart for the most of it ((bad) edits are also very much allowed). However, it needs to be your own or you need permission from the artist before submitting it! However, if you haven't gotten permission yet when submitting, you can always send me a link to the fanart later. Without picture submitted, there might be a chance your ship will have to compete without a picture.

Keep the main images SFW and spoiler free. Propaganda can contain nsfw stuff and manga spoilers, as long as it's announced up front (eg: [Spoilers ahead]/[nsfw ahead])

Bakotsu (馬骨) is apparenlty chinese and literally just means horse bones. He is literally a skeletal horse. I am sure there is a mythology about a skeletal horse... but I can't find it.

Lesbian Nami must've been so stoked for Robin to join the crew because besides the way too short time Vivi sailed with them she's had to suffer a life devoid of sex while her crewmates get to fuck each other all over the ship whenever they want. It was finally her turn to live out her sexy pirate dreams damnit.

However, not only is Robin quite possible the only *mostly straight pirate in the world, but she keeps telling Nami that she isn't into younger women. But Robin is hot and Nami never backs away from a challenge so she spends a lot of her time trying to seduce Miss All Sunday.

She's being as flirty as possible and wearing even less clothing than she normally does. She gives Robin extra spending money and takes her shopping all the time. During baths she offers to massage her back and purposely slips into her arms. Because they share a bed she'll usually opt to sleep in as little as possible. She convinces Robin she has nightmares so they can cuddle.

While all of this is very nice it seems to have the opposite effect and Nami gets put into the friendzone more and more each day. She is unable to give up her pursuit, refusing to admit she's become Robin's less annoying Sanji. Then fucking Franky comes along.

Nami first gets a bad feeling when she notices Robin seemed to enjoy crushing his balls a bit too much. She notices the way she stares at him. How she giggles at his antics despite knowing she doesn't give a shit about robots or any of the other immature crap he seems to enjoy. When Franky gets flirty she doesn't brush it off and actually gives him her attention.

Nami becomes desperate and clingy, but she knows she's lost when Nami is pushing her tiddies up against her and Robin makes a comment about how Franky actually pulls off the speedo look well. She can't believe a baddie like herself lost to a pervert bionic man with an addiction to carbonated drinks. Her hopes of regular sexy time crushed once and for all.

She gets over it pretty quickly since it was never that serious and it wasn't like she was in love with her. Aware that she won't have any issues finding a new cutie at every island they visit. Her charms irresistible to most women.

Nami even admits to herself that those two make a pretty cute couple, but when she sees Franky turn himself into a centaur or watch him turn on his nipple lights she can't help but roll her eyes. Her ego suffering a bit each time.

Nami won't ever understand straight women.

Everyone calls Franky a "pervert" only cause they can always hear what he and Robin get up to in their rooms. Well except for Luffy and Chopper, they're too innocent to notice these things.

100% true! Oda told me so:

Franky and Robin try to be silent and use the crows nest (romantic and depending on the weather they are heard or not), the aquarium room (it‘s the most romantic but very central), the library (at the end of the ship but depending on the surroundings sound travels well), Franky‘s workshop (cozy, but sound travels well through the ship and it‘s a bit dirty), the cola engine room (dirty and loud, just like them - also smells like cola), the bath (they have to get clean after getting dirty, also warm and there is a lock), inside Shark Submerge lll (they can be loud but not a lot of room to move).

Sometimes during the day they go in the girls room (Nami hates it and makes sure the sheets get changed but it has a lock). They rarely use the boys room (too dirty and not in a good way).

I like to think they try to be sneaky but it‘s a small ship…
