And yes :) I had a follow up fic in mind where it’s just Clark seeing/smelling/etc all of Slade leftover on Bruce when he comes down for coffee and just being like, slowly driven insane by jealousy. Meanwhile, Bruce is well fucked and trying to get through whatever project he agreed to look over with Clark, and Clark keeps snapping his pens in half. Good pens.

i know it’s #angstweek around here but I just reread the fic where tim pays slade to fuck his dad and I’m still cackling. love it

That was such a fun fic to write! I'm so glad everyone thought that was as sexy and hilarious as I did. Writing Slade was a little out of my comfort zone, but it all worked out.

I'm going to slap my favorite lines below for the hell of it:

The best way to play chess, in Slade’s opinion, was to throw the whole fucking board on the ground and play something else.

“Bet there’s not a lot of people who can make you feel small,” Slade observed, slightly out of breath as he kept up the new, brutal pace, “Huh? Me and Big Blue, maybe…” Wayne shuddered on his cock, letting out a stunned breath. Slade grinned as his hypothesis was validated, glad his expression was hidden from Wayne’s piercing stare. “So that’s what the lube is for,” Slade said, even as Wayne’s careful breathing pattern began to break down, “You think about him, don’t you? Fucking you like this?”

Slade deliberately dumped Wayne face-down on the bed as soon as he’d been about to answer. The other man propped himself up on his elbows and knees, glaring back at Slade with a look that, in any other context, would have him worrying for his balls.  “Sorry,” he said, not sorry at all. “Must have slipped.” 

Wayne moaned, forehead knocking against the wet tile. It looked painful, so Slade did it again. 

“Go,” Slade growled into the man’s ear, settling into the new position, “the fuck. To sleep.” 

“Great,” the kid said, pulling out a cell phone and tapping something on the screen, “Full eight hours?” Slade sent him a look. “You want the play by play?” Your dad fucks like a demon and should be exorcised. By a priest -- several priests, honestly. He sucks dick better than anyone I’ve ever met, which is saying a lot. Oh, and the way his face screws up when he comes --  Tim’s nose wrinkled. “Ugh, no thank you.” 

Slade ignored Kent entirely, heading for the door that led to the front of the house. He felt the man’s eyes on him the entire way, a half second away from burning through his flesh.  “Oh,” Slade turned, making a show of pausing on the threshold, “Tell Bruce he’s almost out of shampoo, yeah?”

omega jason trying to do omega specific things like letting alphas take lead and protect him, because hes in his civvies and can't let people cotton on to his skillset. but hes not as good as bruce at acting and he hasnt had as much practice as bruce, so he just ends up sighing and stepping into danger to disarm the would be kidnappers who tried to ambush a "date" with him and a society alpha.

I love that. And of course the alpha ends up all "you -- you saved us!" and Jason is like what? like it's hard?

(Bruce and Jason being able to bond over the small slivers of good they both pulled from their League training is so precious to me)

It really would. What an impossible choice to make. And the kids probably immediately think Bruce would choose his parents over them, and Bruce hates himself for ever giving them the impression that they could come second to anyone else.

I know how everyone hates miscommunication tropes but bear with me

What if Martha and Thomas ARE proud of Bruce? Of the Gotham he created? Of the father he became?

But they're still Gotham socialites, there's a way to behave and a way to show emotion, the problem is, that way of show emotion was the norm 30 years ago, and a Bruce who was shielded from that world wouldn't even know about it.

So in the end, everyone just, never says enough, Bruce thinks that his parents are disappointed in him. And Martha and Thomas think Bruce was better off without them, better as a concept, a ghost of the past than active members of the family Bruce made without them.

This is very realistic which I dig. Miscommunication happens ALL the time and it would make sense that it happens even with the Batfamily. Everyone thinks them coming back was a a mistake but for different reasons, and they all blame themselves. AGH.

but then they asked him why all the kids got equal shares of the wayne fortune. why dick, jason, cass, and tim's names are in the wayne family book (im assuming the waynes, like a lot of old families, track their lineages).

theyre uncomfortable with dick and tim, but especially so with jason and cass. bruce notices they do all they can so damian is never left alone with either jason or cass
