i think people need to stop expecting complete immunity from any criticism ever just because they fall under a marginalized group. like im sorry but being gay does not excuse you from posting "incest is more than a kink it's a way of life" and expecting everyone to cater to you.

personally, i do not care what excuse you have. if your defense is that 'it's a joke' then you have just made fun of victims of incest in a completely out of pocket manner. and its fucking gross to do that!

like these people are not "targeting" you for whatever oppression you experience. they are telling you that your sexual politics suck and you're not safe for people to be around. complaining that its because of a specific reason and not because of the actual complaint of, yknow, being into incest to the point of where its your whole personality and making fun of the victims.

and like while we could talk for hours about how this deflection is such a white person thing to do and a genuine issue in the community, it is clear that you are not ready for that!

The U.S. will use its veto power against a Palestinian bid to be recognized as a member state of the United Nations during a vote at the Security Council expected to take place Thursday evening. Vedant Patel, principal deputy spokesperson for the State Department, described as premature an effort by the Palestinian Authority (PA) to gain member status at the U.N. He said there was not unanimity among the Security Council’s 15 members that the Palestinian Authority had met the criteria for membership, with unresolved questions over the governance of the Gaza Strip, where Israel is in a war to defeat and eliminate the controlling power, Hamas. “And for that reason, the United States is voting no on this proposed Security Council resolution,” Patel said.

Earlier it was revealed that the United States was secretly pressuring other members of the Security Council to shoot down a Palestinian state membership so the US wouldn't have to use its veto as that would lead to a wave of local and international criticism for Joe Biden.

A little-discussed detail in the Lavender AI article is that Israel is killing people based on being in the same Whatsapp group [1] as a suspected militant [2]. Where are they getting this data? Is WhatsApp sharing it? Lavender is Israel's system of "pre-crime" [3] - they use AI to guess who to kill in Gaza, and then bomb them when they're at home, along with their entire family. (Obscenely, they call this program "Where's Daddy"). One input to the AI is whether you're in a WhatsApp group with a suspected member of Hamas. There's a lot wrong with this - I'm in plenty of WhatsApp groups with strangers, neighbours, and in the carnage in Gaza you bet people are making groups to connect. But the part I want to focus on is whether they get this information from Meta. Meta has been promoting WhatsApp as a "private" social network, including "end-to-end" encryption of messages. Providing this data as input for Lavender undermines their claim that WhatsApp is a private messaging app. It is beyond obscene and makes Meta complicit in Israel's killings of "pre-crime" targets and their families, in violation of International Humanitarian Law and Meta's publicly stated commitment to human rights. No social network should be providing this sort of information about its users to countries engaging in "pre-crime".

it's actually incredibly sad how i see tme pansexuals "protecting" tma bi lesbians. it's almost like tme people encourage self hating tendencies within trans women to the point they adopt labels that are inherently transmisogynistic because trans women and the world at large truly believes that lesbianism and bisexuality do not include trans people and nonbinary individuals.

like whenever i see a tme person accusing a trans woman as "former radfems" / "crypto terfs" there's always a motivation for that. they see themselves as some sort of "vanguard" using their privilege to "protect" trans women but ONLY SPECIFIC TRANS WOMEN THAT VALIDATE THEIR TRANSMISOGYNY.

please you are not some mommy calling out for the huddled masses of trans women.

you are a chaser. adopting a transphobic and transmisogynistic label while you normalize fetishizing trans women desperate for validation and telling them that lesbians hate them and encouraging internalized transmisogyny to keep them in line.

I feel like somehow people are taking “gender is a social construct” as like a ready phrase they can use against specifically trans women (of all orientations) and lesbians (both tma and tme) and especially trans lesbians to attempt to argue us out of existence. every other day I see people trying to argue that the very concept of trans womanhood that excludes afab membership or lesbianism that excludes attraction to men is somehow “bioessentialist” and “re-inventing a binary.” I know none of y’all doing this are reading theory or trying to develop a material analysis of gender cause it’s only ever used to harass women on here, never to learn from trans lesbians. It’s so old.
